I honestly have no idea how this channel isn't one of the top tennis training channels yet.... each tip is so well-thought out and thoroughly explained, which is soooo important. Hope to actually make the team this year because of this but no guarantees!
Thank you so much for the kind words of support. I’m growing pretty quickly so that’s a good thing. Just glad people are improving from the videos. Have an awesome day!!
I'm catching these video's a year after they were done but I've been taught to put my racket slightly forward and hit the top of the ball as I'm hitting the topspin. Your instructions are suggesting hitting the middle of the ball low to high. I really do like the top about keeping the racket face down, that has really helped me get my racket in the correct position when hitting the ball.
I have top spin pro machine and have only been playing about 5 years really struggling to learn to hit top spin but been watching your videos and very very informative and well explained, thanks for doing the slow motion ones I'm going to start practicing your teaching, appreciate your time and help thanks
This is a great video. I'm really struggling with my forehands and I think it's because my racket is open on the back-swing. I can't wait to get on court tonight to put this into practice.
@@2MinuteTennis I’m brand new to playing tennis and it’s too cold in Chicago to get outside, so being able to learn and practice these techniques will help when it’s time to hit the court!
I really enjoy your videos and find them very helpful! I don’t understand, however, at 2:00 when you say “a tennis court is almost 3 times wider than it is long.” Is that what you intended to say? Did you mean longer than it is wide? Thanks.
Just curious. I love and use the topspin pro but I have one concern. Is there a contradiction between the path put into play with topspin pro and the long held belief that we should hit through the ball? Conceptually I wonder if there’s an inherent contradiction?
The TopSpinPro helps you see and feel topspin. When the top shield is attached. To be able to “hit through the ball”, try removing the top shield and swing a bit more forward as you go up. You’ll get the spin, speed, and depth on your shots you’re looking for. Thanks Bill!
I get the upward momentum but when you see high level players the angle doesn’t seem very extreme and the racquet while below the ball isn’t terribly far below nor does it need to be.
Hi Coach. Is it worthy to buy this top spin thing to have it in home or just worthy for a tennis couch? Here cost 200 usd..thanks for the tips, you help me a lot!
It seems like the severity of the angle of the topspin pro isn’t exactly what you want. The data out there suggests that most pros come at an angle of attack between 30 and 45 degrees, that thing looks like 75 to 85. I wonder why they made it like that.
Windshield wiping and swing low to high are parts of the whole thing. If hit the ball with horizontal motion instead of swing low to high, windshield wiping at contact doesn’t help at all.
No, your grip needs to change to correctly have a vertical racquet at the point of contact. Experiment at a wall to find the grip which gives you success. Also, remember to keep your nonhitting hand on the racquet to turn it to the required grip for either the backhand or forehand. Best wishes for success.
Hey I need some help! I coach a high school team and I’m having players using and understanding the topspin tool like you have in this video, but when they go to practice their ground strokes they are still hitting it flat or even putting backspin on it. Any advice?
Where can I purchase a Topspin Tennis Pro? I am a high school girls tennis coach and would love to buy one. But I only see it available in Canada or overseas, I cannot use my credit card at these sites. Does anyone in the USA have one for sale?
It would be fantastic if you could somehow use a ball machine and we can see you hitting the balls. The swings are helpful but it would be greater illustrated with you actually hitting the balls.
Hi Michele. Thanks for the comment. I have numerous videos of me hitting forehands. Based on limited time and how long it takes to film, edit, etc. sometimes I can’t include actual hitting. 😊
It’s funny how players get no power when the swing of contact is 90 degrees, imagining brushing up a wall. I wouldn’t be here if I had no problem, SOS please

This is the best explanation of how to hit top spin I've seen. Very detailed, but very understandable. Good job sir.
You are the best tennis coach. I’ve learned so much from your videos. Thank you so much!

How To Hit Topspin (Forehand & Backhand)
Love it, this video shows what do we need to do to get the topspin, than you Ryan.
Among tennis teachers i've already seen on the net, you are the best ! 😀😊
Thanks a lot ! !
I have a tournament from 11th Feb and your channel has been helping me a lot !!
Thanks Ryan !!
Excellent Ryan you cleared my doubts good vedio
Thank you I need this information

Thank you so much! My coach kept telling me close my strings and I had no clue what he meant.
Great instruction! Thank you
Wow Sam thanks so much!!!

@@samhadvisions absolutely. I’m near Philly so I understand the cold. We had temp highs of under 20 degrees for about a month straight.
Love your videos! Thanks!
Thank you so much alex!
Wonderfully enlightening!! Thank you, Ryan!!

Haha good catch! Didn’t realize I switched it. Yes “almost 3 times LONGER than it is WIDE”. Thanks for watching!!!
Great video!
Hey thanks Jamie!
Thank you very much, very helpful!
Very good. Thanks you so much Bro for your proper descriptions in tennis.🙏🙏👍👍
Helped me a lot

You’re right Martha. Some times the pros drive the ball with very little spin. But other times they swing up steeply adding a lot of spin. 👍
Hi Coach. Is it worthy to buy this top spin thing to have it in home or just worthy for a tennis couch?
Here cost 200 usd..thanks for the tips, you help me a lot!
If I have a pre determined arc/shape to my shot, what are the dynamics of racquet/hand?
In other words, how to hit a shot which I have visualized?

Yes, so much low to high motion. The top panel could have an angle adjustment for a more realistic swing.
Swinging Low to High to create top spin is the biggest flaw here. Top spin is generated from the wingshield wipe motion at the time of contact.
Thanks for the comment Robert!!
Windshield wiping and swing low to high are parts of the whole thing. If hit the ball with horizontal motion instead of swing low to high, windshield wiping at contact doesn’t help at all.
Question, when your racket in pointed down, how do you make the face vertical at contact? Do you make a motion with your wrist?
No, your grip needs to change to correctly have a vertical racquet at the point of contact. Experiment at a wall to find the grip which gives you success. Also, remember to keep your nonhitting hand on the racquet to turn it to the required grip for either the backhand or forehand. Best wishes for success.
@@eleanorfrazier8337 🤔 thanks for the info! I decided on an eastern grip, because that grip gives the easiest vertical racquet face when at contact!

What is the name of this tennis equipment
Hi Sunil. Here’s the link for it. It’s called a TopspinPro. Thanks!! topspinpro.com/ref/2minutetennis/
So many other channels claiming NOT TO DO LOW TO HIGH. Confusing AF
@@matthevandaalen6289 agreed. It can be confusing. All you can do is try both methods and see what works for you.
I will keep coming to this video until I get used to the correct form.
Grip?
V good this one
Thanks for video but how the hell is that thing worth $149?
This product isn’t for everyone…

Here’s a video with me hitting. ua-cam.com/video/v4oUVVlM1JA/v-deo.html
what did is that u used for single back hand shot
Why in EVERY TopSpinPRO video, instructors talk SOOOO MUCH? Show us the drill Man!
You cannot do "the brush up" in high balls
thats why you either close the racquet more or hit it flat, but there is still topspin to a degree
It’s funny how players get no power when the swing of contact is 90 degrees, imagining brushing up a wall. I wouldn’t be here if I had no problem, SOS please
