Well, the main reason is for Twitch to conserve disk space. Making people change a setting in order for the past broadcasts to save will eliminate the less serious streamers from using disk space that is not needed. This is the same reason the saved past broadcasts will delete after 14 days if you don't highlight it. You can highlight the broadcasts that you want to keep and let the other ones be deleted. It makes a lot of sense, for Twitch.
@@ChrisPetrone yeah it's probably about storage. just imagine how big twitch's servers would require to handle dozens of 2 to 3 hour videos from thousands to hundred thousands of streamers
Direct, concise, and contained the exact information I was looking for. Much appreciated. You impress me or leave an impression I subscribe.. Great vid.
So right now I did my first stream ever after preparing, getting knowledge and multiple stuff for 3 weeks. 1h and 50 min stream is now gone. I had like 2-3 moments I wanted to clip after it got saved as a video, but apparently it's all lost now... I feel sad. I thought I prepared everything (it went smoothly too) and now this happened.
I love how you made content and still make content even though you know not many people are going to enjoy, view, or appreciate the content you make. Good looks man. Keep it up.
I must've forgotten this was what I had to do. I had two Elden Ring Streams from a couple years ago, and then a couple random streams from 7-8 years ago saved, but nothing in-between. Real shame on my end since I don't have some of my toughest challenges saved! Great to know for the future though, so thank you for the vid!
Thank you so much for this guide!! I was so mad when I finished my stream and didn’t see a video and couldn’t find it (I had just completed a hard trophy too) 😂
Ty for this bro best way help new streamers wondering y not saving channel I would recommend it that help me alot nobody else explains how turn it on ty this actually helped alot
I found that some of my streams weren't showing up in past broadcasts any longer even though I had the auto save on but I fixed it. I found that the missing videos were marked as non uploaded within the video producer tab and all you need to do is upload them from there.
I've made the most hilarious streams with friends on red dead redemption 2 ..two nights in a row and my streams aren't there..I'm new to twitch so this was so disappointing..I did the save thing as well before i streamed and it's still not there? Does it take time to show up or is it supposed to be there instantly? Im so confused
This was very helpful but I was more so wondering how to save it to your computor, but I have a feeling I needed to do that right when I ended streaming i am not sure.
I’m sad because I spent an entire day streaming halo infinite and none of it saved. I can’t play this weekend because I’m going away so I can’t even start another stream as the first flight ends on the 1st of August and I’m still away then. But thanks for saving lots of future streams
Thank you so much now i don't have to be sad for losing my streams....
Same bro
I relate to this on a spiritual level..
How does it work I doesn’t work for me me
I'm streaming rn and I got this insane clip and yeah idj if this will work
Yup
its just ignorant to have to even do this in the first place. ZERO reason why TWITCH shouldnt just auto save videos.
I agree that it's kind of annoying. I think it's probably due to storage concerns? Not sure though.

true its been like 2 days of just looking all over the internet and 2020 videos on how to do this
Unfortunately, I just lost my first stream because I didn't know that.

Thank you, I started using Twitch 2 days ago and I simply stream gaming content in as high quality as I can produce.
I must've forgotten this was what I had to do.
