I finally got the F1 paddle shifters from the vendor. I do not recommend the vendor, as they did not respond to email or calls. Took a month for the paddles to come in. They looks very nice, but I think you can buy them on Ebay or elsewhere. I bought mine at ModifiedVettes.com
I highly recommend doing this modification. I love paddle shifting now and do it more often than before. also makes the car look more modern. I went with the black shifters, as the plus and minus signs show up really good.
You are an adult and can make up your own mind as to where to buy them.

Awesome video Midlife! I now feel uber confident to take on this mod. Thank you! How do you like driving with it? Does it work as advertised? ... back in the day, I used to game (racing sims) using the right side as up and left as down, so much so that it became automatic lol Just purchased an 07 drop top (same color as yours) and just can't get used to stock + -. I love the F1 paddle shifter mod. I normally drive in that mode all the time. I only drive in boring D and let the car shift when I am super tired. You will notice a huge difference and love using it. Enjoy. Also, the steering wheel upgrade is a must too.

Does the battery have to be disconnected and the airbag fuse pulled to do this?
Definitely disconnect the battery. You do not need to pull the airbag fuse.
@@midlifecrisis1979you should tag this at the top brother about disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. ! Love your videos, I'm in Utah and I also was Born in 79 and just had my 45th birthday in March and I'm a thicker dude myself. I shave my head and wear glasses but I can't grow a beard or mustache very well, so I stick with the stubble look lol. It's all about looking good but also being comfortable. I also have a 2008 convertible that's cashmere on the inside and the rag top and Crystal Red exterior. I can get tell exactly what color yours is in the video, which red is it? These cars are awesome and I love mine more everyday!

@@midlifecrisis1979nice, I mean it should be well known that you would disconnect the battery when doing certain jobs, especially the airbag 🤣! But it just might not occur to someone until after it's too late and you don't want them coming after you for it

hey, been trying to find those carbon fiber steering wheel covers that is in front of the paddle shifters on the steering wheel
Mine are not carbon fiber. It is a sticker. You just buy a small roll on Amazon and heat it up when putting it on.
How did you reprogram them
The wires on the harness to the switch the 2 outside wires. So brown is on right and purple on left side. Switch the wires so brown is on left and purple on right side of harness. See video around 20 minutes into video thru 20 minutes 20 seconds. I further explain after that.
No actual programming is changed. You just switch the wires in the harness.

I have the link in the video description. I checked and their site is down as I write this response, but it says to check back tomorrow. So perhaps they are doing site maintenance. Or wait and see if modified vettes fixes their website. I hated dealing with them, but the product is nice. Also I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience with modified, they got my order to me quickly and the price was 1/3 lower than when I last looked several months ago. I talked the guy that paired these paddle shifters (originally made by someone be else for Subarus he told me) and then 3-D printed the adapters and started selling them on eBay for our cars. I googled paddle shifters for these cars and eBay popped up, so I looked around and read the descriptions of the paddles and the adapters because they were sold separately on eBay then. I had some questions and got in contact with the guy that put these particular paddles together through eBay where he originally started selling them originally and right after he had just partnered up with modified vettes. He was cool and answered my questions and said he wanted to give people a chance to get them for cheaper. With that coupon code I mentioned before it brought the price down within a couple bucks of what he was originally charging on eBay before things took off with modified. Now on eBay they're the same 150 as on the modified website without the code, so of course I bought them as cheap as possible with the code. But anyway...
