Hello Jason, Thank you for a well produced video for the Revesol Steering Wheel. I ordered one for my Ram 2500 truck and needed some detail on how to swap the factory parts onto the Revesol wheel. There wasn't any good vids on DIY wheel swap for the Ram trucks. Thanks again for your top notch instructions. I'm sure by now you hopefully installed a Carbon Fiber dash kit to compliment the new steering wheel. Gp
Kinda surprised that it helped on a different vehicle...but glad it helped either way! I am iffy on carbon fiber personally...I sometimes think it is overdone. Peel and stick carbon fiber everywhere. Yep, it looks great but sometimes...too much is too much. Just my opinion, of course.
Alright, the new steering wheel is in, mostly. The 2012/2013 steering wheels are actually a complete unit with no removable rear plastic cover so I had to cut the back panel to remove switches and hardware. Talk about being committed. (maybe I should be lol) The carbon fiber bezels I ordered from Ebay Motors fit although I had to file the opening to help the switches fit better. The carbon fiber airbag cover completes the look which is amazing, love the new wheel. So it has no rear plastic cover on it but it works fine and only a little wire can be seen peeking out. Looking for that piece now from a 2008 to 2011 with automatic. Dealership will be the last stop. Thanks for the video, it helped me decide. Keep up the good work. More Vette Vids please.
I'll bet it looks fantastic. I hate to tell you this now, but 2012/2013 steering wheels from Revesol are on the way. I do have more Corvette videos coming, but it might be a little while. I just had shoulder surgery and can't do much for a few weeks until I recover. I am not a happy man right now.🫤
@@InJasonsGarage Of course the new wheels are coming out now. The new wheel with full carbon covers look great. I bought a 2009 steering wheel for $150 on EBay motors for the rear cover and extra buttons. My radio bottoms are worn so I can replace them now. Car feels like a super car when I grab the wheels plus indentations give great access and positioning for the paddle shifter. Look forward to more vids. Get well soon.
yep, got mine in and love it. cant wait to drive it. i did not notice there was a certain notch for the wheel though. maybe i was just that good and lined it up perfect the first time. lol

Plus I'm hoping that the red stripe isn't as bold based on what the pics show. I'm like Jason with wanting the red stiching to match my seats. Bottom line, it's better than the stock one :-)

Yeah, that's why I did show a sped up version in this video. It isn't difficult. You disassemble the old steering wheel and then you assemble on the new one in the opposite order.
@@Sam-z8n3o Here's something that might help... Find a Chrome browser plugin called "Video Speed Controller" and you can use that to slow it down if you need to. You might want to hit the mute button when you slow it down. You can also use it to speed up my other videos when I am running my mouth too long. 🤪
Is that the cylindrical gripper knob from MGW? I always thought they looked skinnier in the photos but yours looks great. I have the spherical shifter and I'm not entirely sure I like it. If I can swap it out for $14 from MGW then I'll probably do it.
Hey Jason, picked up the hydro dip version and it looks and feels fantastic. I have the 2012 grand sport with the updated wheel, pointy chrome bezels which is an issue. Waiting for new button bezels to install wheel. I’m hoping the buttons swap into new bezels (carbon fiber) without complications. During your wheel swap, did the bezels and buttons appear to be swappable?
So you are wanting to swap the buttons from your chrome trim bezel to the new new carbon fiber bezels that are not the chrome trim bezel design? Good question if that will work or not. From the pictures that I have seen, it looks like it can be done. Let me know what you find out!

I see that, according to Revesol, this steering wheel fits only the ZO6, not the Base model. Shame. Good thing I checked it out before pulling the trigger. This is the one thing I would upgrade on mine C-6.

How does the steering wheel feel in your hands? It looks kind of bulky on this video an in the pictures. I was thinking about picking one up for my C6 Grand Sport in the near future but, it looks a little bulky.
Definitely not bulky in my opinion. Feels a TON better than stock, especially where the indents are for your hands. Feels much more secure. I don't have huge hands and it does just fine for me. I'll never go back to the stock wheel.
It feels and looks fantastic. Perfect hand positioning for working the paddle shifters. Flat bottom works better than I thought it would during full turns and helps with ingress and egress. I added carbon fiber trim and an airbag cover which totally upgrades the look. HUGE difference 😊. I would post a pic if I knew how???
It is a factory piece for the Z06, I believe. If you are looking for an aftermarket one, check with American Hydrocarbon. they have pretty realistic looking carbon fiber hydrodip.
I bought the same wheel but cheaped out and got the hydrodip carbon fiber look only because I have the same center console as you, that fake wannabe carbon fiber stuff, so I just figured if I've got fake news in my interior already I might as well just save some money and keep the fake stuff going. Either way we both got bad ass upgrades at a great price. I will be installing CF vinyl over the silver button covers to complete the look. Nice video, great channel, take care!

I was really torn between the real carbon or the hydro dipped one and because ultimately my wife has to ok the purchase. Lol. I went with the hydro one and if I absolutely don’t like it I’ll return it and get the real carbon one. I live in Wisconsin and the vette is in the garage for the winter so there’s no rush for me

@@marcorodriguez4769 I believe it will, but you also need the 2006 and up C6 clockspring, side plates and airbag. If you want to incorporate the steering wheel controls, a steering wheel column wiring harness as well. I haven't done it myself, so you might want to double check that I covered everything.

Like the wheel, my problem with the wheel is the cheap sliver control covers. Chevrolet should have made them carbon finish like the center logo

I don't think so, but it does have a different shape. There is a flatter area where the original is just round. Feels great in the hand.

According to what I have read on Corvetteforum, it is 27 lb-ft. Please confirm before you install.

I have a base (no radio controls on the steering wheel). Does this save me a ton of time on the install?
A _ton_ ? Not really...it just eliminates a couple of harness connections that you don't have to worry about. But the rest is the same.
