  • BRIAN STEVENS, former Curator of the St Ives Museum, reads his own composition in Cornish dialect. We publish it here in the spirt of the Old Cornwall movement’s motto "Gather ye the fragments that are left, that nothing be lost".
Dialectal English spoken and spelled in Cornwall was influenced by the county's grammar, often including words derived from the Cornish language. The accent increasingly diverges from Standard British English the further west one travels through Cornwall.
