Hope you guys enjoyed it! This took me so much time and effort in making! Definitely not an easy task, I had to check every corner of the game, and compare each versions side-by-side, not only that, in some rooms, like the deer room for instance, I had to make assumptions and multiple tests and it literally took me almost a full month to find out out how the room properly works. If you're a content creator and want to use some of these infos as a reference, please I would really I appreciate when you give me credits for professional courtesy. Back when I made this video, there were no any other website that dealt about this subject, even the gamefaqs, and this still continues to this day. Everything was planned, tested, and found from the scratch, especially the deer room, and enormous time was spent in there to get into conclusion.
It is wild to me, that the German DC had the uncut intro. Being from Germany, this was a time when Germany often would get heavily censored versions of games. For example, in RE3 nemesis, blood was grey and corpses would vanish right away.
Iirc there was a problem with the coloured and uncoulered versions, they got mixed up when they got shipped and we ended up getting the uncensored version in germany, but nobody seemed to care lol. At least some YTbers said that this was the case.
@@trickydog3933 Nobody seemed to care? This was why i playd never RE3 at it comes out. And Years later i playd the NTSC Gamecube Version of RE3 with Red Blood in 2004.
@@pittstone Yes, that is the weird part, nobody cared about the uncut RE1DC, but RE2 was "indiziert" and RE3 got a cutted version in germay, but everyone was fine with the directors cut of RE1. Gladly, I had them all uncut for the good old ps1. The censorship was hilarious back in the day, just think of half life 1 censored version lol.
Fucking USK
@@trickydog3933 "So where are we taking this Freeman guy?" in a robotic voice
The amount of dedication taken to deliver this nostalgia trip is highly appreciated keep up the great work!
@Sol Nocturno Thank you :)
Thank u... I have notifications on, definitely looking forward for future projects 💪🏼
Just in time for its 25th anniversary...I think the resident evil community owes you that much for making these videos.
The time spent in editing these videos is awesome.
Keep up the good work.
@The Void I'm honored😥 Thank you so much!
@@KENDOZONE Likewise, Kendo. 😎
Also, I just read your comment just now since it was buried from months of notifications. Sorry. 😁
Thank you for your amazing work! When I saw "Soundtrack" differences, I immediatel knew what was coming, didn't stop me from laughing my ass off when I heard it
Clown farting concert in the basement
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 that damn basement
Clowns farting in the basement
I saw a video that showed that the song was supposed to be sung by a choir synth and it sounds much better. Don’t remember what the video was though.
This is amazing. I remember as a kid and was mind blown when I played RE1 and had different scenarios than the first time I played it. Such a stroke of brilliance to have difference occurences in the game.
Just the noises of these old games give me such a warm feeling. Pity they don't focus as much on such things anymore.
Damn dude. This is fascinating. Been playing RE:DC since release and I always assumed a lot of these zombie/enemy placements were somewhat randomized. Thanks for breaking all this down. Really cool to see new content for this game still coming out.
Also- fantastic editing. I loved all the little animations and stuff between segments
Also also - how in the hell do you get crits so consistently?
@Viking Poodle So glad you liked it :) Thank you!
@@VikingPoodle huh, and I thought you need to hold aim for some time to perform crit.
@KeshaFilm Oh that's not quite wrong actually. When I was recording I actually found some specific timing for the crit.
@@KENDOZONE like a pro! :)
And finally!!!Mr.Kendo and his magnificent videos
@Mahan Somti I hope you enjoy this :) Thanks for coming!
This took great effort and I appreciate it. From one Resident Evil fan to another.
For anyone thinking Japan wasn't trying to show violence by keeping it black and white on the video filter, Two reasons for this, First being so that those that can't handle the sight of blood specifically can still watch a fairly violent scene without much difficulty and being squeamish. Second, it's a way of referencing and staying true to the tone of the original Romero films which have been credited as the first Zombie films.
Bro if they can't handle blood then why'd they buy it
@@paperclip6377 Exactly. What's the point? That's like buying a horror movie and not being able to handle gore. Or atmosphere if you're into Psychological horror.
Ugh, I can;t stand to see war and weapons, so I'm going to go buy Saving Private Ryan.
Your R.I.P Paul Haddad video will always be my favorite. hard to believe he's already been gone a year and a half.
This is incredible. This video has so Sooo many useful information, which i haven't seen even in gamefaqs, or anywhere else. Definitely one of best video of Re1. Good job on this KZ! I see a lot of thought and time clearly went into this.
The effort you put into this video! Thank you so much Kendo
Holy shit that uncensored opening cutscene is actually really gory. Never seen it before that's really cool.
Never knew y they killed off chris redfield in the opening cutscene abd in that gory way and Chris wouldn't be with out a gun
Your best video so far, i mean you can feel how hard was it to make! I discovered a lot of things i didn't know about first RE. Thank You kendo, you inspire me to love RE saga just like you! 😄
Damn dude , the dedication to this comparison is next level. Congrats.
@Nietzsche-N20 Thank you very much :) Hope you enjoyed it
You did a great job to present a comparison with so many details. It's interesting to watch as usual. Thanks for the content!
Thank you Mr @Xardion , I appreciate it! Hope you have a wonderful day!
THE EFFORT you put into this video!!! OH MY GOD. I bow to your dedication, thank you!!
Thank you for this its incredible I can't believe I'm still finding stuff out about this game that I didn't know until today!
A lot of time and effort went into this video fair play my man people like you make the series so great 👍
If you had to ask me to pick my favorite resident evil, it will always be OG RE1. Everything hit right. Loved how they set it up like a supernatural thing is going on and by exploring the mansion you piece together that its a part of a conspiracy with the pharmaceutical company that owns the mansion. Combine that with wesker's betrayal , the tyrant killing him and the countdown before the facility explodes ***chef's kiss***
My favorite RE game of all time!
You just spoiled the whole game. Cheers 🍻
@@peterb5235 heres some more sephiroth is the villain and darth vader is lukes dad . youre watching a fuckin retrospective of a almost 30 year old videogame STFU
I mean, resident evil 1 remake has that and much more
Great Video, Thank you! Finally The Deer Room's Zombie event and Kitchen Zombie mystery has been solved for me...
@Tanatad Kasemsan So glad it helped! Thank you. Wish you a best day :)
Fantastic video Kendo! Very well edited and a lot of thought and time clearly went into this.
@BenSimWise So glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate it 🙏 Sorry for the late upload 😢
Kudos to you, I know this couldn't have been a short project. Love me some old school Resident Evil 😎
Awesome montage. Thanks for the hard work!!!
Such a well put together video! I haven't played the original Resident Evil since Director's Cut was released, and yet the camera angles from the original were the ones I recognised. No surprise that it's still my favourite game.
Great editing, love the first RE, so many memories from my childhood, you can’t imagine how much I appreciate this video!
@Senza I'm so glad you enjoyed this Thank you so much🙏 Wish you a wonderful day :)
Yea man I grew up playing 1-3 and they were and r my all time favorite game ever made
Thank you very much for this video! It covers exactly all the info I wanted to know and I'm super thankful for this immense amount of work you put into it.
@Firebrand I appreciate it my friend :) I'm glad this helped!
Lot of work went into this, nice video!
@Skull Man I appreciate it :) Thanks for watching!
Incredible video!
Two years ago I played RE1 for the first time in my life and I loved it. Actually made me wish I had got into this franchise sooner!
Great video! I had no idea about the deer room lol
Hope you’re doing fine Kendo! I knew it that there is something wrong with that Deer room. Was very informative indeed! Thanks for the hard work👍👍
@VH Ismail So glad it helped :) I appreciate it Thank you!
Thanks so much for this! I've just started being interested in this series and videos like yours help me make sense of the delightful mess of the first one. Can't believe the music in the dual shock version my GAWD WHY
@peterb5235 I hope you enjoyed it, thanks!
Remarkable Kendo!!!

@cellochel1582 I appreciate it! Thank you!
Man, glad to see you back! As always great effort you put into the video. Such an interesting comparison.
@Alex W So glad you liked this video! Thank you as always!
Amazing video. What in the world were they thinking with the Mansion Basement music in the DualShock director's cut version.... oh lordy.
This is amazing. Great job on putting this together🤘
@LukeDodge916 I appreciate it! Thanks a lot!
I dunno if you used a magnum handgun for the Director's Cut version, but I noticed you've been making single head blasting headshots on the Director's Cut playthrough. Man, those shots were so satisfying, especially when you see brain guts fly off even on a pixelated old-school graphics like that!
Thank you for this!
Hope you're doing well; glad to see this video up. 😁❤️❤️❤️
@Taijhay Taylor Hello how are you :) Hope you enjoyed this video! Thank you!
The soundtrack differences at the end brought back haunting memories. I had the US dualshock version as a kid, was only about 8 playing it. But had the standard UK directors cut years later, as bought it to play on the PS2 as one of my favourite games. I thought there were differences, but never really figured what. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing video, I love Resident Evil Director's Cut and yours violence, in colors.
This is incredible stuff, thanks for doing it.
@kanedathe28th93 I appreciate it! Thanks!
You did a lot of work editing this together!
@ESmith I hope you enjoyed it :) Thanks for watching!
The work you put into these videos is godlike. Thank you so much for this!
@Leandro Rocha Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed my content!
thanks kendo i really enjoy your re videos :_)
@xX-Delirium-Xx I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! Thank you!😄
great great great video. Thank you so very much
This is just brilliant work
@George-zx5dk I appreciate it!
Definitely worth the wait! Excellent editing and a lot of interesting insights!
I'm curious if the Saturn and PC versions have any differences aside from some of the most common ones? (Double Tyrant, reskinned Hunters, Wesker Zombie in Battle Mode...)
Also 22:28 - I never noticed that when you get beheaded, the hunter actually keeps your head in it's claws!
Should the other RE have such differences, I'd be happy to see them. For instance, all the things you can do in Scenario A that will impact Scenario B in RE2? And what changed occured over the re-releases of the games like GameCube?
Excellent work Kendo as always, looking forward to whatever you post next!
@Oxyde I'm so glad you enjoyed my content! I really appreciate it Thank you!
At least in the US, the intro and other altered cutscenes are uncensored on the PC version, and the Saturn version had some background alterations to deal with transparencies the Saturn hardware simply couldn't handle.
Great video thanks!
Soooo many details i loved it!
I never knew how to find barry on the balcony ty for that!
@VirgillHound Glad you enjoyed this! Thanks for watching :)
This was an amazing video to watch
Nice work!
Holy crap, now this is a detailed comparison
@Chiyo-Chan Holocaust Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching :)
Wow, I love this comparison video between all these versions, great work.
Today, they no longer know how to make horror games like the classic Resident Evil games. We were lucky to experience this iconic era of horror gaming.
great work!
정말이지 존경스럽습니다 👍

@jasonsamamaju280 I appreciate it, thanks!
Wow, amazing video!
Excellent video information. Thank you for your work in here.
I have just finished the game twice because it's still scary to me. But I like it. Have played it more times but haven't finished it again.
Thanks to your video I know more details that I didn't know they were there. Like the uncensored full color opening and the gore and extra videos ending. About the music. Both versions sound good. 👍
@Ro Castle So glad it helped! Thanks a lot! I appreciate it😃
wow, incredible video!
Oh man what a treat. I always knew there were so many different event scenarios that played out differently depending on where you went first but I never knew that whole deer room thing. Amazing work, t h a n k y o u !

The first RE is my favorite, because it was my first game in this franchise. I have both the original and the director's cut.
I'm glad you finally released the video and I really liked it! And it's also funny at times!
I wish you success in everything, health and positive in everything.

wow, this is THE video. thanks for doing it man. I never knew custom beretta can oneshot zombies all the time, I thought it was random. would also be good if you touched on difficulty differences betwen releases

Ah yes, the famous "Clowns farting in the basement" ost.
Wow there's soo many differences 😭
Thank you for your hard work Kendo-man💪💪
@Bonus Meme Yes indeed! 😆 God, this took me so long for the research. Finally it's over. I'm out of here!!! Haha Thanks for coming! I truly appreciate it :)

Great video! - this was fascinating. I still have the Directors Cut (not the DualShock one however).
@D R I love the regular one! There are so much great content in it ! Thank you for coming and have a wonderful day :)
Amazing work here, i really love that creepy old capcom intro that i grew up with ! immediately set’s the tone for this Classic game 😊
@Solid _fire93 Haha true :) Hello, thanks for coming! I hope this video was informative! Especially the deer room part.😆
That was a great and helpful video👍, but my brain is dying🙃
Nice work 👍.
0:06 Ahhhh memories.
You know, just enjoying this video. The first zombie scene, traumatize as a child but I got over it (sorta). And then, seeing the cutscene of the kitchen zombie, I was like yes I love this small cutscene...but I got jumpscared by the zombie edit appearing during that scene XD. Gosh, even after many years, this game still scares me and I absolutely love it. Thank you Kendo for the time and effort to give us an amazing video.
@DarkMage115 Thank you very much. I truly appreciate it🙏
Amazing video bro. Hope you do one for RE2 some day
Great production value
Amazing work! My favorite video on UA-cam thus far. But I have to ask… At 7:34, the montage with actor footage. Is that found at the credits of the game or was this edited in? I own the original Japanese release and got “gore credits” but have never seen this footage. Thank you!
that uncut directors cut intro is just so awesome
Awesome work Mr Kendo 👌🏾 Racoon is in debt
@Arturo Dávila Hope this helps! I appreciate it Thank you!
Good video it's interesting to see the difference between the games
@Michael Pout I hope you enjoyed this video! Thanks for coming!
Awesome !
Great Job 👍👍👍
As someone who grew up with the DC GH version, music be damned, RE1 and 2 were both terrifying when I was 12. I learned quite a bit from this video, especially the Deer room, and meeting Barry on 1F.
But by the time I played Deadly Silence in 3DS, I wasn’t aware it was based off the 1996 release, outside of the lack of DC difficulties, and of course Rebirth mode. That it never really sunk in until I read online and heard the soundtrack from each game, because I grew up with the DC GH OST.
Awesome job, Kendo, I’m sure this was a lot of work!
@J P Yeah Haha I must admit yes this video took some time to make, but I'm glad that people enjoy my content! Thanks a lot! I appreciate it 🙏
omg that intro was so perfect and awesome
The Master is back, How are you ? Health ? Nice to see you again, with this Masterpiece of Video, Willkommen zurück und alles gute aus Deutschland 👍😎
@Harry Hammer Yeeesss I'm getting better every day thank you :) Und Danke fürs Zuschauen!!😆
I love the in depth videos when it pertains to the RE games, it was a thrill to see the similarities and differences with this game. Thank you for making this awesome video!
I made a video about a glitch I encountered while playing this game, the basement 3rd floor of the lab where you get a passcode. Its titled "4 Zombies 1 Redfield" it's nothing extravagant but it's also the 1st time this glitch happened to me.
great job
