  • In this video I drive through fall walleye locations and find fish! The goal was to make this a very informational video with a focus on fall walleye fishing transition areas. I show a lot of side imaging, down imaging and sonar shots. If you are having a challenge getting on walleye in the fall period this video should point you in the right direction. Fall is my favorite season to be walleye fishing and I am looking forward to making more fall videos! Thanks for watching!

    This stuff is pure gold ! Love your videos Tom. They are EXCELLENT. They have really helped me understand both walleye seasonal movements, but also what structural elements look like on sonar and how the fish relate to them. Great stuff!

Also would love to see more breakdowns of strategy for musky. Tired of watching the usual suspects talk two seconds about strategy. I hope you can make it down to the Croix this fall for some Musky.

    Hi Tom, I've been watching your walleye videos for quite a while now. Trying all the tactics you've been using. This whole season in Northeast Ohio the walleye bite has been pretty much non existent. I primarily fish Berlin Reservoir which is generally fairly stained. Tons of fish on sonar but just can't get them to bite. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for the videos, love them.

    Had just subscribed recently and have been watching and learning. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I do have one question on the Hummingbird unit. I saw you activated a setting to turn a certain depth or contour green on the map to help you see where large ledges were that may hold fish. How is that done with the Hummingbird Helix 9 GN3 SI DI?

      Hit the menu button twice, then go down to depth highlight and you can set what depth you want. Then you can set depth range +/- how ever many feet you wanna see on the deeper and shallower side of what you chose as your depth highlight.
      I recently purchased a Helix 7, I’m still learning how to use it, but I think the info I gave is accurate... at least I hope it does. 👍🏼 Good luck.

    If you're fishing a northern wisconsin lake that is 90'+, is it worth driving over 40' or 50'+ to find fish? Can you rule out deeper depths at any time of year?

    Just found this video, and you've already answered many of my questions I'd asked previously. Have you made any videos showing side imaging screenshots from an 800 series, or 1100 series Humminbird? These are my current head units, and I'm having difficulty determining what's fish on them. The g3n is much clearer. Thanks for taking the time to create such educational videos!

    I can never seem to spot walleyes on my graph. I don't know if maybe the walleyes hug the bottom closer than they do in your lakes.
    Do you bottom zoom to get a better view of closer to the bottom?

    • @TomBoley

    Prolly not the greatest idea to show people where to catch walleye on a lake chain closed to walleye. I know you can still fish for them, but as a guide, you should have covered the gps data and lake name to help protect this fragile chain.

    • @TomBoley

    • @lktomwalleye
      @lktomwalleye 4 роки тому

      Tom Boley bro, love your vids, but this was plain bad behavior. You know there are going to be guys hitting those spots tomorrow. That is my home system and it has been fragile for years. Walleye have been closed for 5 years because of overharvest from spearing. Please please please be careful where you show gps info.

      Loren Debold what does that have to do with anything? The Wisconsin DNR put millions of walleye into the system that he’s fishing because they were becoming extinct- then the DNR closed this system to walleye for 5 years to try and jumpstart the system. Hell, the DNR even went as far as to to create spawning habitat for them to make it easier to reproduce. Then Tom posts a video of gps coordinates on where to find them that is viewed by thousands??! That was just plain out irresponsible!!
