We do a lot of traveling for filming our television series so we fish a lot of new lakes. We try to gather information online before we leave home. We also offer a few tips on reading and using contour maps. We show how to color shade the contour map on the Lowrance C-Map using the Lowrance HDS. We also share the mentality or attitude it takes to conquer new water. If you struggle going to new lakes and struggle finding walleye, this video breaks down the process.
Remember that there is no location that will always hold fish. Treat fishing reports as a starting point but remember that fish locations can change from day to day. Finding walleye is all about the process of elimination and then repeating the pattern in other locations once you figure out what the fish are doing that moment.

I have a hard time lately finding walleye on my home lake!
Pros always complain that walleye fishing isnt as popular as bass fishing. Part of the reason being almost every how to video is catered to anglers with expensive electronics and equipment. 99 percent of anglers don't have gen 3 technology. It makes walleye angling intimidating to beginners and casual anglers.
It's not hard to find walleyes in a bowl like all the lakes in your home state. It's actually not hard to find walleyes in any lake as long as you do your homework. Smfh
