To speed up the water skin filling: Go to a tap and press F to access its slots, transfer your Waterskins over with T and they are automatically filled, than transfer them back with T. so putting a tap and waterline to the pots will speed it a bit up

good video, played ark for a couple years, and I learned today in this video that you can fill a container while standing in the rain in the game. this is the kind of thing that should be documented in the game's tool tips and item descriptions. I love Lystros as well. always my first tame, as it helps me blast through the first 40 levels super quickly. they're never gonna be able to take too many hits, but if you pump their health to like 300 or something and melee dmg, they absolutely will DESTROY a dilophosaurus, super quick. They're much faster than they appear. . .

For using a flyer to pick up a smaller creature, on Xbox, we have to use the Left Trigger. For bonus points, if you’re flying an Argy, you can pick up 3 dodos at once! One in your lap, one in the Argy’s talons with (Left Trigger) and a third in the Argy’s beak! (Push down on Right Joystick).
Regular meat will work. But prime meat or mutton will give better effectiveness and tame faster. I suggest looking at dododex.com They have a calculator that will tell you exactly what creature of which level will tame of what and how many narcotics etc you'll need. :) very helpful tool
Are you going to do any more videos I genuinely enjoy them and find them very educating for ark cause it is "it's own game" and there is a lot of things that aren't explained. It's the dark souls of survival games.

Hello Cheese! I really thank you for this series! I've learnt many useful things and some really cool tips. There's but one question I have. What are the settings for this server? I don't seem to level up as fast and don't have nearly as much points for engrams as you, but the Dinos do tame way faster for me it seems.

The first was amazing when your new pteradon ran out of stamina and you bombed down on to an empty beach! I just started playing but on my server the beaches are swarmed with raptors and carnos!
On the ipad it doesn’t show well I didn’t make a bow before well one time. On my old ipad that the touch pad broke i made a bow and on this ipad i never made a bow and it doesn’t show the thing on the bottom right
Heh.. while it started weak, and died at lvl 72, my first dilo was tamed at survivor lvl 5. I just stood there punching in it's direction when a dilo attacked me... when my vision cleared, it was unconcious... so I picked a dodo to death and tamed it. Lol
How come the regular kibble I was cooking wasn’t working? I had all the right ingredients and wood was on ad burning but nothing happening. Do I need more water or something? I only had 1 water flask.
Dont quote me on this as im not 100% sure if it is true but i have heard that when you get to a point where you can make Extraordinary kibble it works on all dinos.
I'm playing on a server where the dinos don't seem to poop, making it difficult to make veggies and therefore kibble, can you still tame a Raptor or dino like that w/ meat and/or mejoberries?
I'm bit curious, why would you waste kibble on a Dilo? They tame up pretty fast using raw meat. Also, I'm new, only been playing a week. I tamed a legion of Dilos and found them to be quite nice hunting pack. Until I had my tranq arrows, I tamed them by punching them out, it was quite epic lil fights as long as was only 1. It seems most creatures kind of ignore them during a brawl unless they are only ones fighting. Sadly, a Carno showed up with 2 buddies and obliterated the legion. BUT, I lived thanks to their sacrifice >.

How in the world did you get so much fertilizer so fast?! Just in the four you showed, there were 26 fertilizers. I think the default time is 50 minutes per fertilizer. You have one compost bin that I know of, so that would be one at a time. That's almost 22 hours! And of course that's just to MAKE the fertilizer. You would necessarily have been using it during that time as well, so 26 is what you have left over!

Hey Cheese, I am hosting a server to my friends and wanted to know what were the rates and probably the mods that you got activated in the server you was playing on the video. If possible :)
XP multiplier is 2x. Harvesting 5x, taming 10x. Those are the most important ones if you're just getting started. Mods I limited to SS and a stacking mod. We recently put out as video on server settings and ini. It has my SP settings for the beginner's guide :)
@@NickJay yeah man it's a brutal game. For a casual player, I'd look up settings for "easy" or kids mode. There's no damn shame learning HOW the game works first before actually starting to play with default settings. I'd highly recommend giving it one more shot. Will be happy to help ya out especially with some mods as I am just now starting to get back into Ark from literally the exact same reason.
I'm confuzzled. When he put the stack of 95 wood in the cook pots I saw the weight was only 4. How? I just got my own server up and a stack of 100 wood is 50

Use thatch or sparkpowder instead of wood for your fire or you will get accidental paint and need to get more berries to finish your kibble.

No you can use kibble or meat but kibble is faster and gives a better tame

You need 1 water per kibble

This is true. You can use extraordinary kibble to tame all dinos and it works for imprinting, no matter what kibble the dino is asking for.

Cooking recipes using wood as a fuel is a pain, as soon as it turns to charcoal it will craft a dye instead. Its best to use sparkpowder.
Sparkpowder is used to make dyes too

You can't tame alpha Raptors if that's what you're saying
