Agreed. While this game clearly has a sci-fi bent, the kibble stuff is still a bit immersion breaking for me. It just seems like more grind for its own sake.

I dont get ark players crying about taming only wirh kibble. Ive been playing ark solo for 5+ years and i never made kibble. I tamed all my dinos w meat or berries. No problem whatsoever. The problem is not the food but the danger in the area. So you dont have a problem w food but with bad planning.

I love how everyone forgets that the old kibble system may have been complicated but it did offer progression from dodo to pteranodon and scorps to rexes there was always a path in this new system you’ll be begging for eggs from other players stockpiling for weeks from the ground or long taming low levels just so you can have eggs to tame a good lvl one lol the only thing they got right was the classes of kibble they just forgot about progression of new players this was only made to cut back on kibble farms that’s it

I think they did iganadon progression on one and a backwards progression with spino eggs
Im an old ark player, but im not a expert, but there are still dinos that lays progression eggs
Gallimimus is one of them, taming with simple, laying regular eggs
They wanted to rid the maps of every tribe's egg farm whereas 150 dinos just sat around laying eggs. This system allows just a dozen or so special egg layers and helps prevent lag.

Great video! One of the things I haven't seen a lot of people talk about is where exactly to make the farms, more specifically the egg farm, when I first built my egg farm the dinos kept going out of formation due to dilo's attacking and trying to get a large number of dinos took a very long time.
That's when I found out about herbivore island. (I was just starting out) It was perfect! No hostile creatures to attack my dinos and I don't even need to make walls around it, and the dinos that spawned there were already covering most of the egg types, and the dinos were swift to respawn. Especially with metal nodes that spawn trips to the mainland and back are uncommon for me.
The only problem I'm having is the Leedsichthys
that currently surround the island. I recommend survivors to come in with a flyer in case you get the same luck I do.
You could just put your dinos on passive and put some other smaller dino's among them to fight off the attackers. I put all of the dinos that I don't want to move on passive for when there's an aggressive creature and keep a few of them on their normal setting so when my passive animals get attacked, they won't die. I also turn off their reaction to my whistles, in case I accidentally whistle to make them follow me.
WHERE IS THIS ISLAND?!

Is kibble really worth all the hassle? I think my settings are fairly modest and mostly default with a few exceptions but I remember watching really old ark videos where taming stuff could take hours and hours so I turned my tame speed up to 2x. With that one little change, using mejo berries and prime meat I've never had any tame take longer than like 20 minutes, during which time I can usually just go do other stuff like organize stuff from my drop chests into the proper boxes for resources and everything. I guess I just don't see why people go through all the effort to do all this when it will only save them a couple minutes a few times throughout the playthrough. Like honestly all those Yuutyrano's are probably more dino's than I would ever tame in a whole playthrough so just setting up the kibble farm would take more time than it would even save me I think, not to mention all the other resources I need to use for it.
It is. Honestly i dont bother with it but the tame times are insane with kibble. So quick lol

Actually, I find Extraordinary Kibble to be the _easiest_ kibble to make. The only challenging ingredient is the special egg, which can be easily addressed by having mate boosted yutys + Oviraptor, as well as making trips to Valguero for Deninonychus eggs (there are usually at least 5 eggs).
Its the honey for me, i just always struggle to find hives on EVERY SINGLE MAP they're always bugged and I need to force respawn dinos like 5 times for them to appear, so annoying!!
Though once you get one queen bee its easier...
Do the rock elements or the other dinos that u can get max level kibble lay eggs?

Okay! I just started playing like 2 weeks ago and still thinking that kibble thing is so difficult, like okay I understand it depends on the egg, but then you have to find somewhere in abundance all other ingredients like rare flowers and rare mushrooms.
The quality of these videos are top notice and I love the fact that they are not apart of a lets play that the video is 30 minutes of stuff you don't need to see.

You have to grow it. Most plants will give you seeds when you harvest them. One seed is "longrass seed". It does not grow in the wild, except on some of the abandonded farms on the Fjorder map I think.
Do Cooking Pots tend to glitch out? I have been trying to create kibble with the correct ingredients and it's just not happening. Was thinking it might be a glitch so imma try to replace it.

The only thing I would add is if you are making bulk lots be sure to remove the charcoal so it doesn't make a paint instead of kibble.
Soooooo, spend dozens of hours farming eggs and materials so you dont have to wait an hour to take a dino basically?
When you tame with the preferred or better kibble the result is more affinity percentage from your stats to the tamed dino. If you have levelled your character to 400 melee for example. The tamed dino will get more percentage towards its melee percentage. Stamina, etc.

They are the shiny goldish colored rocks near the mountains that give you "metal" Or sometimes you just get it from most rocks when you hit them with a pickaxe. Then you smelt it in a furnace to get "iron".

Me as a mobile player and there are like 50 kibble you get from specific eggs and you need to use a specific kibble on some specific Dinos for it to work

Great video. I play single player primitive + on Xbox series X and don't get into the whole breading part of the game. But was wondering what numbers should I put and sliders should I change so that wild dinos will lay eggs quite often? So I can steal them to make kibble for taming max level direwolves and hyaenodons to get perfect tames. For they are what I mostly tame over the other prehistoric mammals.
For carnivores, couldn’t you just raise the taming bar and give the taming animal prime meat??

I'm confused, tbh. I've been trying to make exceptional kibble and I have all the ingredients in the pot, but nothing happens. No timer, nothing. My fuel (sparkpowder) just burns out as my stuff spoils. Which is a pain in the ass, especially with regard to the focal chili.
What’s the point of kibble when you have taming speed multiplier all the way up, pshhh
This made kibble cooking and choice of kibble types way easier, to know that a higher grade kibble works as effectively as he preferred is a lifesaver.
You can focus on a bigger dino and use the eggs for all your kibble needs, this reduces the number of tames a player needs or has collected.
I think there are two important ingredients, one is a bit hard to make.....eggs you got, but missed the COOKED JERKY.
You need oil in a preserve bin for the jerky and you have to wait for it to be made, so you end up needing a room walled with preserve bins like I do
Lol I always see people with rows of dinos, for an egg room, but never a jerky room lol

I dont know why I can't make sup kibble.Basic and reg are no problem.I put over 5 fiber,1 full waterskin,1 prime meat jerky,2 citronal,1 sap,2 wild mushrooms and 1 argentavis egg or titanboa egg in a cooking pot and lit the fire.Its not doing anything.Anyone know what Im missing?
Dude I was just making kibble with T-Rex eggs in my previous survival but I had in a plan to tame yurnito for buff at boss fights. I can tame like 4 female yurnitos and make kibbles to tame giga :):):) (and to tame T-Rexes to make eggs soo I have powerful rex gang:)

Depending on availability, tames, settings, etc - crystal wyvern, wyvern, and deinonychus can also be easy to obtain. Esp crystal wyvern and deinonychus because even if you get low level eggs - you can hatch, breed, and then use those eggs for kibble.

So basically the Dodo egg farms aren't worthwhile for kibble anymore because it's basically worthless.
tis is an amazing video, but wasn't the image you showed at 3:55 about what kibble each dino preffers? because you said it was about what egg size each dino lays. either way, I think it's a comprehensible mistake, plus a quick wiki search can help you arround it.
