I'm a US Marine and had the privilege of working with Royal Marines. Truly a very professional and classy group of warriors.
I mean, yes, they are clearly very talented and clever, but can we please take a moment to admire the clarinetists magnificent moustache?!
Oh yes, it is magnificent!
It really suits her !
wait, where? when?
@@breawen at 1:50
You mean Liev Schreiber?😅
All concerts should have at least a few minutes of funny entertainment no matter how “serious” the show may be. This was amazing. Not because of how they played or what they played. It because it put a smile on the audience (including myself watching on UA-cam) and you can even see the band also having a smile in their faces.
To smile is one of the real good few reasons we all have to keep on our lives no matter how bad the day is.
Thank you all.
Cheers
This ladies and gents, is British humor at its finest!
Classic British humour from the great Bands of HM Royal Marines. More of this please!
"That is a big pipe"
"Madam"
Priceless
That's what she said!
Indeed lol
Yeah but my pipe is bigger and fatter and longer and stronger and wider
Absolutely tip top British humour and talent at work!!
Somebody does not have the British humour it's just want we all need in this pandamic to cheer up
@Thierry Kamette What put your nose in a snit? Lighten up for God's sake, we can all do with a dose of laughter. Give it a try.
@@evamcclatchey8305 it’s marines ain’t it?
@Thierry Kamette how about they’ve been in n out of war zones and fancy a laugh! If ya can’t say something nice.. Sod off! No one asked ya to watch..
@@soovanderbilt3437 yes and is still good fun
To anyone who ever says a Marine has no sense of humor, I present THIS!!! Loved from the first "drop" to the last!
Who says they have no sense of humour? The joined the MARINES!!!! (from a Matelot)
Humour
Wait, people thing marines don't have a sense of humor? A good friend of mine is a marine and he's hysterical!
Like Maxwell House Coffee. Good to the last drip...drop.
No one ever said that.
Mozart like you've never heard before! What a talented bunch they are, truly superb!
😊
As an ex 3 RGJ band member these musicians in the marines are polished to the highest standard and are excellent in what they do and I could only dream in being this good, Well done.
Proper musicianship. It's a dying art.
I love that people find ways to turn literally *anything* into a musical instrument!
I mean, people have been making music with "improvised" instruments forever. In a modern example, you got the show "Stomp".
You do realize that plumbing pipe drum/organ concept is borrowed from Blue Man Group?
Music and comedy, they go together in the best ways.
Best bit of plumbing I have seen in years. Well done chaps.
😂😂
When I was a serving Royal in the 70s the RM band was all male and a much more formal marching band as opposed to a full fat orchestral style band. I’m proud to say that, although excellent in my day, these guys are even better. The ladies in the band bring a whole new dimension and the extended range of instruments, vocals and repertoire along with humour like this piece make this about the most entertaining all round band I’ve seen. The visuals and uniforms, the movement of the drummers/buglers just top it all off.
Brilliant. So proud of you.
That dry little “Madame...” from the plumber as he showed his bigger pipe. Classic. 😂😂😂
His Majesty’s Royal Marine Band. Bravo
Per Mare, Per Terram
In our school band on St Patrick's Day we marched around local towns & villages. Make no mistake the Glockenspiel is an instrument of beauty. Thanks for bringing a bit of joy to my day.
The man playing the xylophone is very talented!
Soooooo, you mean both of them then, right? :)
Thanks. Great post.
The facial expressions of the band members are a fascinating mixture of band, military and human professionalism.
Humanity is a remarkable species.
As you say it's obvious they are enjoying themselves and not just doing another performance for the public. Remember the only difference between Government sanctioned/ trained Killers and Gentlemen Warriors is MUSIC!
the williamTell Overture is one of the finest pieces of work ever
Looney Tunes, Wiley E. Coyote, Never give up, Never surrender.
These guys must rock at whack-a-mole!!
Absolutely bloody brilliant, I hope my mum in heaven is listening, she would’ve loved that ❤️❤️❤️
Whoever thought this up ought at LEAST be awarded an OBE if not the Garter! And props to the plumbing percussionists and their backup band!
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
Awarded an OBE?? Lols🙄
@@ORDEROFTHEKNIGHTSTEMPLAR13 "Order of the British Empire," about the lowest order on the list . . . .
I love "Circus Renz". But this version ist simply hilarious. Only the British can do IT this was with their humor. Thank you for sharing. Just made my day...
I've watched this several times an it reminds me of the Morecambe and wise stile of comedy. It makes me laugh every time. Love it. God bless
I am always amazed at anyone who masters any musical instrument, but the xylophone has to be the most intimidating as far as preciseness.
As a percussionist , I would agree! And the problem in general is that, unlike for violins, when you balls it up, everyone hears and knows it was you! 😂
Not only a plumber who is instantly available, and fixes a leaking pipe in record time, but who is also a highly accomplished musician! What an amazing contraption, who worked that one out, and how long did it take to build? This made me laugh so much, and I have added it to my HM Royal Marines Playlist. Keep the music coming guys, it is just what we need right now and always. Brava!
Checkout Snubby J he plays same instrument
Thanks Daniel San, I'll check that out👍
@@lindaseuneke6783 ur v welcum
Just a question? BAND. S. ?
@@lindaseuneke6783 Also look into the "Blue Man Group"- the pipe thingie is called a "tubulum"- too-b u- lum.
Not only talented percussionists, but hilarious as well.
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
He laughed heartily! Thank you very much! Greetings from Russia!!
This shows the versatility of these musicians
Brilliant! And just look at those uniforms, makes me proud to be British!
In case you are not aware Britain is lost.
@@bar10ml44 and what do you base your stupid comment on?!
@@bar10ml44 no it ain’t. 🇬🇧💪
Why because they are playing plumbing tubes???
Saw them perform in Norwich about thirty years ago and they were brilliant, professional and funny.
In the military, in each branch, there is a school for musicians. After basic training, if they are selected, they go to learn how to play different instruments, sing, and other things. All they do is play music throughout their career. They do concerts, special programs, parades, etc. They get promoted in rank, just like others. But, they are still know how to fight.
Interesting. In the US musicians are recruited directly and can come in at different ranks depending on their experience. It's one of the few areas (medical professionals being one of the others), where this occurs.
@@mtnairpilot Royal Marines Musicians are recruited directly to be musicians. They complete the first part of basic RM training (15 weeks) and the move onto two years music training. In times of war they are used to act at medics/stretcher bearers and guard HQ type establishments. However, they are to date the only UK military band to have conducted UN operations as a stand alone force.
@@mtnairpilot Adding to the "experience" theme, back in the 80's one of our vehicle mechanics (A Private) was sent to temporarily serve with US Forces. He said that he was surprised to find that one guy's job was tyres (tires, for the Americans) and that was it. He was instantly promoted to Sergeant (a jump of 3 ranks) when the US found out that he could actually service the entire vehicle.
This is bloody brilliant!!! I played the glockenspiel (a similar instrument) in elective music during high school and, trust me, I know how hard this is! Thanks for the upload! Cheers from Oz! 🦘
Un super concert, original et plein d'humour! Félicitations pour l'idée!!!🎸🎺🎻🙏
Hello from America! This is brilliant! Thank you!
Seth MacFarlane is such a gifted and multitalented person! I didn’t even expect him to play the marimba on such a high level! Absolutely outrageous!
*Xylophone
(Marimba is the one with softer tones.)
Imagine bringing that budget up to the adjutant. Just like: “sir we need money to buy some overalls and a pipe”
@@katiedotson704 We're still talking about pipes, yes?
Thank you for the Music! And the Service! And the Service TO Music!!! Love you all!
Gotta say this made me chuckle.
What was interesting is the moment of two marimba players played, the rest of musicians still excited to saw what they're played even though we know they already training and rehearsal together before....
These gents make music sound good using plain old PVC pipe & here I can't carry a tune if'n I were trained by Phil Collins!
Beautifully done, Gentlemen!
This is what happens when The Blue Man Group meets Monty Python. Brilliant!
Always makes me relax and smile..gives me confidence and courage to carry on
How The Band of The Royal Marines 'andles water music!
They Handled it well!
underrated!
Groan! I, at least, got the reference!
It’s a pipe organ, obviously 🤣❤️
LOL!
😂😂
Blue Man Group in Uniform supported by a Grand Orchestra! amazing! THX HMRM!
FANTASTIC! Such talent......from every musician there! Hugely enjoyable.
Just wonderful! Such a talented “plumber “ my favourite kind of music! Thank you
Well done Royals, from a former bandie. Superb fun!!
Bloody brilliant, well done the Royals, Bravo.
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
Absolutely Excellant Musicianship & Very Talented
A criatividade associada a musica, nao tem para ninguem. fantastico.Bravissimo.
Had to save it.. It just made me smile and feel good at every aspects. Just what I needed..
This was the last song that my Jr. High school choir sang back in 1978. Our choir sounds like it was 4 times as large as this group, so there was more depth to it, but it was wonderful to hear it again.
Absolutely brilliant! Marines with rhythm and humour - killer combo 😁
What a fantastic and joyful performance!
Just imagine all the time that went in to ensure that all those PVC pipes were pitch perfect! Goes to show that pretty much any household item can become a musical instrument. Not to mention the musicians talent!
I rate this one as the number one of the century and I'm sure it will still be in 2199 BRAVO ☆☆☆☆☆
Impeccable timing and an outstanding performance
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
Mmm un placer escuchar y ver este espectaculo/concierto!! Una dicha q hace descanzar mi alma!!! 😊
Well-played brass is declining here in the US as high school music programs are underfunded.
Thanks, UK, for keeping the tradition alive!
But the Ohio State U Marching Band is superb...Heavier on the Trombs and Tubas though...perhaps not quite up to these guys, musically speaking, but there's hope. Besides which, they're moving "relentlessly" - my ballet trained muscles ache just watching them move none stop for an hour or more while playing wind instruments (O2 demand) and following the most complex formations I've ever seen...so Oxygen demand on brain, lungs, limbs...so fight for your funding - MUSICIANS ROCK! (Brit here...!)
This just makes me miss her Majesty the Queen. RIP. ❤
Why?? I don't
I LOVE THESE BOYS🥰😍❤
AND their special humorous way, greetings, Judy from germany💋❤
Was lucky enough to have (one of) the bands of the Royal Marines play at my university graduation ceremony...no plumbing involved though!
I feckin love plumbers. They can fix anything. Even stand in for a missing drain pipe xylophonist in an orchestra.
Great fun! Thanks to one of the greatest musical ensembles in the world. Love you guys.
There is nothing else to say...Pure Genius!
Love it when the plumber hits the conductor in the nuts with that one piece of pipe 😂😂
Amazing performances! My late husband would have loved this, he was a lifelong admirer of "the best military band in the world", as he always described them, and I cannot disagree!
Well they aren't military though, they're part of the naval services....whole different entity.
@@boredweegie553 actually they r still Royal Marines
Even though they’re the senior service they’re ROYAL MARINES, obviously not commandos but brilliant musicians. Cabbage heads we call ‘em in’t paras lady😂😂😂😂
I don’t know how long along I watched this. It was really enjoyable. This is my second time and I’m loving it as much as I did the first time. Brilliant performance, timing of humor, music, glances even laughter. Thank you to the men and women in uniform for your service and your talent and to the plumber. You need to go to trade school, but keep up your music lessons you may have a career.
First class, well done the RM band. John .... 30 years front line "Pongo"
a voir , aussi surprenant que prodigieux. A regarder et surtout à écouter jusqu'au bout. Fantastique !!!
I loved this, what fun! Salute from an old U.S. Navy guy. :)
And this my friends is what makes you proud to be british
The Royal Marines - so underrated (well someday has to say it!)
Wonderful, absolutely brilliant. So much talent in these bands. (If H isn't turning up again, can I please have his seat?)
Why can't I get a plumber that quickly... this was lovely!
Loved it ! Don't always get UK humor, but, as a Veteran this sold me !!
From an ex Guardsman musician…Superb!
Fantastic I've watched this over n over 1,000 time's get's better each time definitely priceless
EPIC!! Only the Bootneck's band could come up with that one.
Except, of course, Blue Man Group who have been doing this since the 80s.
Oh, my, word!......the thoughts I have thoughted with that conversation!.....🤭🤭🤭.....awesome performance!....
Superb music and humour!
I was smiling the whole time (can't laugh; hubby's snoring right beside me!)
🙌👏👏🙌
straordinari
Absolutely brilliant So much fun and incredibly talented! Bravo!!!
Lighthearted and musically superb 🇬🇧 Bravo lads 👏👏👏👏👏
Was waiting for a final "drip" ... and was not disappointed!
Well done to all!!!
Beautiful! Salutes to all of you! Love from Canada!
Plumbing the humour of the Royal Marines...
Wow! I love the, William Tell Overture! Brilliantly done!!
Outstanding!!!
AWESOMENESS! Percussion the best part of the band/orchestra!
Well played, figuratively and literally.
The quality of the musicianship is extraordinary, these folks would be an asset to any major orchestra. I don't like "brass bands," but to my complete surprise, I didn't miss the strings at all.
That’s the BEST musical EVER!❤
Супер! Молодцы ребята! Люблю такую музыку. Очень приятный звук. Успехов! ✨️🕊💖🎶📯🎙🎚🎤🥁🪘🪇🪈
