We used to live in New Orleans but tropical don't do well in NW Louisiana because of the cold. I really like the bird of paradise and might try to find it since you said it can do well here. Maybe next year. Thanks!
My bird of paradise spent a miserable last summer in intense sunlight all day. This year I transplanted it to a mostly shady area and it's looking better than ever.
