    Either you're getting better at teaching or I'm getting better at learning from you. Either way I'm happy. Love the new series so far. Thanks Nick!

    This is a great series! I find very useful to see the kyu/dan moves comparison, it is really helpful to see what's missing or forgotten. Thank you :)

    “Advantage in the fight, and advantage from this point on.”
    Me: awesome, i want some of that!
    Also me: loses 50 point corner 5 moves later.

    I clicked on this video because it was the second in a series on a concept that I want to improve, but I appreciate your thumbnail efforts.

    Super helpful! Your explanations of the board really help me to interpret them. Keep it up Nick, we like the shape videos

    "Shape Matters". I want that on a bumper sticker.

    Quick heads up: The title says this is lecture 443, but thumbnail says this is lecture 442.

    That title card explanation was great.

    Great series. As a 5kyu it's fun seeing which moves are 'obvious' and which I would never consider.

    What about O15 in the first question?

    • @frankcardillo5011

      I also like O15. Table shape, no?

    • @echoct506
      @echoct506 3 роки тому

      O15 was my choice too. I think 16 gives a bit more flexibility and that's why Nick went with that but I think 15 should still be able to defend. It just costs an extra move for the same outcome.

    • @NickSibicky
      @NickSibicky  3 роки тому +3

      O15 is not as good, AI says it is about a 3-pt loss because then B gets to play P17 in sente as a reduction. B still would have to play P16 to fix after that exchange. In that sequence, O15 ends up looking silly.

    How’d you get the board on Ogs to look like that

  • @TheMunchkin9
    @TheMunchkin9 3 роки тому +1

    I personally much prefer these videos. The skits were funny but I wouldn't have watched much more myself. I think a channel about Go as a subject is just going to get few views. It is a rather niche subject especially in the west.

    Please keep making teaching videos. Don't let the UA-cam metrics misguide you.
    Also, prep your variations ahead of time. :)

      I do prep! Lol. And then when I actually hit record my brain goes, "Oh wait...but what if...." and then it happens again. :-/

      @@NickSibicky I just wanted to show some appreciation for seeing how you extemporaneously go through the reading process, iffy candidate moves and dead ends included. I think as a 5 kyu it is very instructive to see what catagories of responses you worry about and how you evaluate the legitimacy of those concerns.
