i appreciate seeing this answer to the mistake covered in more depth than i usually see it covered in videos (only the descend, not mentioning the hane at all)
You're a very good teacher and have a knack for explaining hard concepts simply, and your game reviews are a treat for many levels. If you have more videos like this I think it'd be worth making a playlist or making more if you don't. Go community lacks a lot of teachers who communicate ideas well.
This is my favorite joseki mistake to punish. It came up in a Go Magic league game a couple days ago and I punished it. I just sent my opponent a link to your video.
This is a really good video for something I see all the time (7k here)! I'd love to see more breakdowns of common overplays. I'm still learning to play solid, but haven't quite gotten to being able to consistently punish overplays
Yaaaaaaas! As one of the guys who has been asking about this recently, I've been wanting this. Also, I'm one of his students who very recently asked about it.
Hey, this is quite a good video for me! Perhaps there is hope that I will eventually be less than terrible at this game! Not counting my chickens yet though.🤣
I think I've seen some nice commentary on it, yeah! I probably won't cover it myself, since if (when) I go back to that era, there's so many good games with no existing English commentary - yet!
@@telegraphgo I recently bought (and read) the book about the match so I just wanted to bring it up. I'm looking forward to your future game commentaries!
I think it's too strict to differentiate, because low dan players in strong rank systems who enjoy this kind of thing can try the hard way and the "weaker" 3dans who don't want to throw hands can enjoy the easy way. Ultimately, everyone should just play whatever they think is fun!
Thank for nice video, I have one suggestion. Please change your white background. It is shining more than the board especially in the evening. It is little bit distracting. Please consider darker background. Thanks.

As a victim of Go swindlers, using Joseki's like the ones in this video, really wish someone would publish a book on the most common ones!
Joseki is also the plural

Great video, I wasn't aware of the "hard" way.
That thumbnail is magical

What if black doesn’t have the ladder? Seems like white could capture the cutting stone.
Excelente ❤
Have you ever gone over the team-up game? I think its segoe and suzuki vs kitani and go seigan. It was very interesting

Of course, it's only a rough guideline. But I still wonder, when you say "2 dan and below", what system are you referring to? AGA? Fox ranks?

I'm 3 kyu and have known how to punish this since I was like 10 kyu, I've never seen anyone past 2kyu make this error.
