Agreed it was a toss up though I think being I have been a Tochinoshin fan longer and he is older and closer to retirement I think I was leaning his way more as want to see him retire at a rank more he deserves as he's worked so hard to over come all these various injuries and deserves the ranking. Imagine where he would be had he not have to suffer the injuries!!!

Enho flips people bigger than him like they were patties but Tochinoshin isn't having any of that.

I have been a big fan of both of those guys, for different reasons. Seeing Tochinoshin win the yusho and make Ozeki was special, especially after his injury issues. And who doesn't pull for Enho in every bout? I hope he can complete his comeback and get at least up to Juryo.

I remember this bout, it was hilarious to see Enho kicking his legs like a little baby!

I love Sumo. I was in Misawa, Japan where I had my taste of sumo. My favorite was Kikanoumi and Jesse (Takamiyama). Great day from Jan 77 thur Oct. 78.

I was in Misawa about the same time (Sep '78 to Sep '81, and then down to Kamiseya for three more years after that). It's also where I developed my love of sumo. Kitanoumi was sort of the "bad guy" in those days vs. Wajima and the disappointing Wakanohana II, but then Chiyonofuji came along and was a true phenom. I was glad to be in Japan during his rise and see him fight live at the old Kokugikan.

@@paulofearghail9408 What branch of the military were you in. I was in the Navy and left around the middle of Oct. 78.

Once tochi got the grip it was hopeless for Enho.

yeap minute I saw him get that grip I knew it was over as Enho just does not have the power needed to break that hold.
