Looks like you're having a blast! You really are on point when you play man. Timing, feel, it's all there. Your pro-level constantly gives me something to aspire to! keep it up!
The 3k is a huge tag however im excited on trying the their ue11 pro this weekend. Ive used Alien Ears custom mold IEM's 6 drivers each, they sound great but never got the right snug fit in my rt ear. I took the plunge on Ultimate ears and will do a comparison this weekend. I can say right off the bat the fit is perfect and sound test from laptop is amazing. What Im most curious on is the ambient port allowing some outside ambience to sneak in. See how it goes.
Keeping stage volume low with a tube amp is totally doable these days with the Boss tube amp expander. It's a game changer for me. It used to be a real hassle but now you can set your amp at the sweet spot and control the volume however you like. Plus, you can run it out to FOH without having to mic your cabinet. Technology is definitely making using tube amps much easier these days, I find.
Just keep the resonance knob low/to the left all the way. Running it higher = quite a few stories of blown tubes, screen resistors/pout put transformers on Marshalls, Traynor, Wizard, Suhr, and other amps. I have and sometimes use one with no issues with that resonance control all the way down.
I’m 100% sure they sound absolutely amazing but $3.000 is a lot of money! I’ve been using KZ ZS10 Pro since 2021 and they’re super balanced too! They sound really really great! I’m curious to compare both of them! Great video as always! Rock on 🎸⚡️
Going to order mine tomorrow. Not sure about the 21 driver one i'm getting a model around $1,000.Would love to be on that level sometime in life.Looks like soo much fun.
PS, I kept wondering for hours: Why 21? If I had 21 ears, where would the 21th ear be located? On my nose? It took me several hours to realize that it's actually 42 drivers in total (if you wear two of them), which really is a lot!
Ah but @petethorn where did you get the cheesesteak from? As a Philly native this a question as important as Fender/Marshall, Strat/Les Paul, Helix/Fractal.
One ear out is actually more dangerous to your hearing -- exposing one ear to uncontrolled stage sound, plus the remaining IEM sounds 6 dB softer without its "other half" in place, which makes you want to turn it up even more. Just sayin'.
These are definitely great pro in ear monitors. We got something called EArasers at this year's NAMM... for $30 pair... they're AWESOME for high quality ear protection! Not the same thing at all but great clear sounding ear protection@ 😎🤘🎸🎧
There, again, I see the Destroyer. It's not fair Peter. Any chance we could get your opinion on a 23 Korina Epiphone 58 Gibson Inspired model compared to a Mahogany Explorer. I know you have the ultimate in the Ibanez but is the Epiphone bright and what is the neck like. Need your opinion, you are the MASTER 🤟
Well, different. I like the ASI very much for the ambient feature. They are a 2 driver in ear that I would say offers a good frequency response and balance but I probably wouldn’t mix with them or claim that they are as “audiophile” as these UE Premier. “More refined” I would say these ones are, whereas the ASI are great for the ambient feature.
I didn’t use ASI on this run. Just these UE. On a gig that I’d have to use in ears all night, would probably go ASI and if I’m just using on certain tunes and/or doing lots of mixing and editing on the road, I’d use these
Me: *Using Status Between Pros with 3 drivers in each earbud* “This is incredible!” Also me: *Comes across the UE Premieres with 21 drivers in each earbud* Da fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck?!?! 🤯

Thanks!!
thanks Pete! looks like the tour was a success! of course! Thank you for sharing it!
Pete, what about the ambient 3DME IEMs that you recommended over a year ago? $800 versus $3,000!
Always grateful for your hard work in keeping us informed and with good usable advice.
I’d love a video demonstrating what IEM mix you work with. Especially along with the sight offset delays you used to use the H9 for.

The KZs are SUPER underrated for the price!
Got them too but i can't get used to playing with in ears, i play terribly when i use them
Would love to hear a audio sample of your in ear mix.

You had me going with that inconspicuous black box. That thing should be bedazzled in Swarovski crystals for 3 whole stacks
Imagine having 21 ears...
Ummmmmm
It’s called running a 24 channel FOH board.

No amps on stage is fascism
@@Chef_Jeff69No. It's capitalism. LOL

You all sounded tight up there.
Thanks!
Definitely with you on preferring a wedge over in ears! Not good for hearing, but sometimes I’ll take one in ear out when using in ears

Assuming “WTF” means Whoa! That’s Fantastic! 😂
its the sound of most people 'good audio'
Wilmington... Wish I had known... I live in Wilmington! :)
Im stayimg with 21 marshall stacks if it's good enough for ACDC then it's good enough for me.😊
Hey, that venue looks like the Blues Brothers final scene venue!
Uh, $3000??? Sorry, but fuck that!
For real
Agreed. Not a chance in hell I’d pay anywhere near that for glorified Air Pods.

That’s just an air plug though. I have some of those two, completely different products though. But nice! Daddario also has a nice new hifi earplug.
its really good, it just need to be placed somewhere, but kind of not reflecting the quality
Would love to know what these sound like on vocals, did you do any vocs with them in Pete?
Using Shure 535’s. $3000 is ridiculous! That said, my in ears I use for ear correction for mixing is around the same price as the UE 21 drivers 😂
whats the name of the song? I have heard it before but i don't remember the title.
Man what a cool video. Thanks
Thanks!
Love ya Pete!

Sorry I haven’t played the epi! Not sure!
4:26 why is the keyboarder throwing the bandana? :/
How would you compare them to the ones you tried that have the mics in them?
Well, different. I like the ASI very much for the ambient feature. @@PeteThorn So maybe the ASI for live work?
Are you using them with the ASI system?
I didn’t use ASI on this run. Just these UE. On a gig that I’d have to use in ears all night, would probably go ASI and if I’m just using on certain tunes and/or doing lots of mixing and editing on the road, I’d use these

Da fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck?!?! 🤯
21?? LOFMAO.. Give me 30.. Do I hear 30?? Its ridiculous already..
How complex is the crossover in that thing?
I’m not sure, but every other one I’ve tried with a whole bunch of drivers always sounded like nothing but bass. These are super balanced.
@@PeteThorn I’ll have to check em out, my helmet could really use an upgrade.
I can only afford the cheese steak...
So at $200AUD a gig, I would have to play about 28 gigs to pay off those babies. Think I’ll buy another Les Paul 🤣.. thanks Pete, I would if I could.
I’m not buying them until they fit 22 drivers into them
and deliver grilled cheese on toast after a sound check.
