  • This is a quick video on Webflow transfer project to client, how I take a website I create on my Webflow account and transfer ownership to the client.
    I thought this could be useful for other Webflow designers just as a video guide for their clients on signing up to Webflow.
    If you're a client, there are only a few steps required for your website to be transferred to your possession.
    1. You need to create an account
    2. Tell your Webflow designer the email you used to create your account
    3. Designer will transfer your Webflow website to your account
    4. You purchase hosting. I generally recommend CMS over the basic because it allows collections
    5. Publish your website. Done
    Follow these steps and you, the client, are a new Webflow website owner :)
    Thanks for tuning in 😀

    we can also charge clients without webflow branding and take profits from it. If so what feature access does the client have? will the client be able to edit the site as a whole or just the content? can you please make a video on how to do it?

    Hey Michael, if I already have a website that is hosted on webflow on my account and I want to transfer it to client - is it any different than this? Or does it automatically stop billing me for hosting once the website is transfered?
    Thank you for the video!

      So I asked Webflow about this. They told me what they do is they will refund you for the remaining time you have on your existing site and then you will just purchase a new hosting plan on the new account. I tried Googling and found this below on the Webflow website. Hope this helps!
      Proration & refund
      Webflow prorates plan changes based on your existing balance, credits, and how many days you have left in your billing cycle. If you plan to make any changes to your plan, you can find out your prorated charge with this equation: (current monthly price ÷ 30) x (days left in billing period) - (new monthly price ÷ 30) x (days left in billing period) = Total prorated charge or credit

    Hi Micheal, I am starting my freelance journey with webflow. So, when I estimate the cost of webflow project to client Can i just take freelancer package, design and developed unheated website then ask client to get their own hosting, domain and connect site to their after transfer? does this sound a good idea? or do you have any other suggestion...

    Hi Michael nice video, it Helped me a lot.
    but I have a doubt when the client buys the hosted plan from his account and then the client wants to add a new page to his project should he buy an account plan? or the site plant already include it?
    thank you so much beforehand

      Hi Adrian, it's a great question as even I find the Webflow pricing confusing. So when you want to transfer the site to a client so they have ownership, they will create a 1. Webflow account (starter plan which is free) and then they need to purchase 2. hosting (so that the site is actually live) Once they have these two things, they essentially can do whatever they want with the website. If they have the CMS plan, then they can run a blog, if they only have the basic plan, then they can only add new pages but no collections. Hope this helps! And let me know if you have more Webflow/website questions as I'm going to be making more videos. Thanks! 😀

      @@LeWebDad Hello and thanks for your video ! I have just one request around the Adrian's question. If the website I've created for my client contains more than 2 statics pages (there is multiples : "contact", "home", "services", "about", "blog", etc.), do my. client will have to upgrade from a Free plan (2 statics pages and 50CMS items) to a Lite plan (up to 100 statics pages and 50CMS items) and pay almost the double price (CMS site plan + account plan) ?
      Thanks by advance ! (sorry for my approximative english)

    Hey Michael - How do I transfer the website I've created to the client so they can post it on their domain, but still have designer access myself so I can manage the site?
    Without me paying for the team and website - and then having to invoice the client
    Or without having the client to both pay for a team account and website hosting
    I should be able to pay for my team account and they should be able to pay for the webflow hosting so I can work on it - how do I do this?

    • @LeWebDad
      @LeWebDad  Рік тому +2

      You need to transfer the site to their account and then once they purchase a plan, they should be able to invite you into a project as a guest. The other option is to just share their login information with you

    Excellent video. I am on the client side and will be setting up a Webflow account to accept the transfer from the person who designed the website for us. Currently Webflow is running on our domain that we will be using. Will this domain info be transferred along with the existing editor accounts?

    • @LeWebDad
      @LeWebDad  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Steve. As long as the desired domain is being used by the designer, then everything should be set for you when you transfer. And once you do the transfer, you should be able to activate the website within your account very quickly. Good luck!!

    What if the customer wants changes. Add pages, forms, etc? How do you do that if they have the website on their dashboard?

    Thanks for this video. I'm about to transfer a website to my client...except it's already hosted. I know that Webflow says to create a duplicate, transfer that, and then set up the CMS plan, etc. Do you have any suggestions to make this process as easy as possible?

    Thanks for the video tutor, very helpful. my vendor are trying to transfer my website to my account but failed. can you help me guide me what is needed to smooth the operation of transferring my website from his account to mine? cause he showed me error. but, i don't know how to help assist. can help me?

    • @LeWebDad
      @LeWebDad  2 роки тому +1

      Hmm that's strange as the process is very simple and straightforward. You only need the emails (your vendor + your email) to transfer. If an issue is occurring, tell them to contact Webflow support and they should be able to help!
