iPhone did quite well here, but Pixel is clear winner for me. Pixel does have its problems, especially the background blurring in portrait mode and a slight cold/blue cast. In many cases, I would also prefer a slight yellow cast, but the iPhone takes it too far. Had to laugh when they picked the Nothing at 12:18 (dessert), did they think it was the iPhone because it was so yellow? In that pic, I would have chosen the actual iPhone (as far as I can judge from the video)
As a photographer, I could tell he was cringing at some of their selections. iPhone tends to oversaturate/over process colors for my liking. I find myself liking the output of the Pixel more often. What isn't always apparent is that the Pixel will apply auto-HDR, but it's a non-destructive edit added after taking the picture so you can pop open the edit screen and just dial the HDR back in those sunset scenes (in particular the one where the building was bright - that was HDR at work).

Surprised at the variability of the Nothing phone. It seems to have an extreme random quality generator built in as it took some pretty decent shots but then also took some utterly atrocious shots, the likes of which are quite rare nowadays. Nice to see Anjelica again after quite a while!
Pixel 7 Pro is overall better. Nothing Phone (2) is overall good but still needs work to match flagships in night mode or portrait (cheaper) iPhone is overhyped and overpriced.

I agree! Got my np2 and I have a struggle with low to dim lights specially vids but I think that's just normal and feels natural. Just use some lights and itll be fine. Most phones this days feels like their captured cameras already been post proc...
Pixel wins for night shots and zoom for me while iPhone is best for portraits. Depending on what type of photo you take whether it be zoom, night shots, or portraits, it may sway your results.
Nothing really needs software tweaking. In the end, they are comparing a phone that just has been launch, with phones that have been in the market for a while. We'll see how this ages :P

That’s what they do. They used this strategy last year with Phone (1). This way, when reviewers say that the pictures aren’t good, they have an excuse that they have improved it with the new update. 😓

I think the Nothing will do a lot better later on with new phones and new software updates will make it much better since they are using very good cameras (its not even camera game anymore its just who has better software ). But all in all i think Nothing should do better but the iphone is pitiful compared to the pixel since the iphone is 2x price or even more
portrait mode is no problem for pixel at all, instead of using portrait mode it has a feature where it can put blur after taking a picture which gives you a better blur than the portrait one which really gives a nice bokeh effect and you can customize it to your liking

Last photo I took on my pixel was late last year . I do use a dedicated camera though for photography. To me a phone is a phone or computer device and not a camera 😊 but I'm still intrigued by camera photography, as in how it is progressing.
*Pixel 7 pro is obviously the top pick.* Iphone 14 is good but it's too warm especially on skin, food etc. And in situations like 15:19 and 15:51 the iphone 14 is a saturated mess. Also, the iphone kinda brings up subjects too much and brightens them making it social media ready but fake. *NP2 is meh overall!* In shots like 8:37 Pixel is the one I would pick as a photographer. You can easily light up the subject in foreground and also control the Highlights further. Iphone is too blown out and distracting. NP2's HDR is too weak resulting in softer details in foreground.
I feel like the Nothing phone 2 just needs a better tweak for when and how strong the nightmode should kick in. Because when you tap to adjust exposure pre shot it turns out way better
Iphone has some bright highlights that hurts my eyes. Green and yellow tint everywhere. The white balance is spot on, but the whites are so brought up that they dont feel real. Feels edited already.
This time, the iPhone took it for me. The iPhone photo algo for that sunset behind the building is a great example of where Apple's picture ML is a blackbelt for tone and mood. I appreciate that you had fewer portrait mode shots this time around. They don't look that great to me. I also feel like, over time, there is a tendency to get used to the artificial mask, and develop a preference over the natural, shallow focus of a physically bigger sensor.

For real! The S23 Plus has top tier HDR now due to the updates Samsung has been pushing to optimize the camera. The settings as well also help so.. I'm waiting for them to include an S23 model again in one of their comparisons.

Pixel for the zoom. Mixed results from nothing and iphone (Iphone you could normally tell due to saturation of colours and decent portraits). Night shots were mixed for me, with nothing giving more realistic results rather than giving you something that you couldn't even see or unrealistic blue night skies like the iphone.
the fun part is that they compared a 5x optical zoom phone with phones without a dedicated zoom lens, maybe a normal pixel 7 would be a better match and i know that it would be money intensive to buy a 7 and not use a existing 7 pro but then you cant compare zoom

Its not always which phone will take the most appealing photo but which represents what you see in real life the best. In fact i would prefer a camera that catch the real deal. Otherwise just put filters and yeah.. youll be getting 100% nice photos from any camera out there.
Honestly got a full 100/100 on the pics ... Very easy to spot : - iPhone is always smooth soft and with a "yellow" harmonious tint - Pixel always have a purple-blue-ish sharp tint - Nothing Phone is always awful, way too contrasted, burned white & blacks, out of focus or too much blur

Seriously Apple must’ve tweaked something in a recent updates because the color accuracy and white balance are killer.
that's the thing, iphones take photos that don't correspond the reality, I think that's the problem with them. The photos are oversaturated, often yellowish. iphones have their own style but it's not always on point, and this video proves it :/ pixel wins in this one

Comparing apples and oranges. Pixel 7 can do everything the pixel 7 pro can do except for the telephoto which ordinary people never use for almost half the price of puxel 7 pro and iphone 14 pro. Pixel 7 for me is the best bang for your money
for me the iPhone wins, for sure the zoomed shots were the best on the pixel.

In this price nothing should provide atleast..
