    I heard that Rob did the scratchy record sound. And Chance did the jaw harp.

    I have a playlist of over 350 reactors analyzing this cover, and I developed a short cut checklist to identify the best reactors. 1) they notice right away that Adam Rupp DOES NOT have a harmonica. and 2) they notice AND comment on Tim's octave drop in the chorus after his solo verse. So congratulations, you're among the best. And the rest of your analysis is spot on. Bonus points for not confusing a mouth (or jaw) harp with a digeridoo. Adam Chance makes the mouth harp sound using some kind of throat singing (like the Hu).

    The one you didn't know is Adam Chance who goes by Chance so there won't be any confusion between him and Adam Rupp. Chance was the one doing the jaw harp. Song from...Chance...Some Girls Do...very good. All of the guys are so good. Thank you for a great reaction.

    If you want to explore the one voice you haven't heard much of, Adam Chance's voice, my favorite song featuring him is "I Can't Outrun You." That one is powerful, and this is one where even Adam Rupp, the beatboxer sings instead of beatboxing.

    I think you'd really enjoy hearing both Adam Chance's solo voice and the 5 part harmony (no beatboxing) on Helplessly Hoping. It's by far my favorite arrangement of the song. I'm pretty sure you'll think, as I do, that it is also a perfect song for them.

    This song blew me away when I first heard it & I was completely hooked. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

    • @johndeeregreen4592
      @johndeeregreen4592 Рік тому

      To me, in the bass world, it's Avi, Tim, and Geoff... in no particular order. Nobody is touching those three. In the beatboxing world, Adam definitely is the best, with Layne Stein a close second.

    • @dagmar.6954
      @dagmar.6954 Рік тому +1

      @@johndeeregreen4592 I would stick Elliott Robinson in the mix of great basses. Tim, Avi & Elliott do not use subharmonics. Sorry not a fan of Geoff. And Adam Rupp is in a league by himself. Other beatboxers are okay at making sounds & imitating noises but Adam actually can become the instrument or sound. He is the most realistic.

    • @johndeeregreen4592
      @johndeeregreen4592 Рік тому

      @@dagmar.6954, Avi and Tim do use the growl technique, though, which to me isn't a pleasant sounding technique. In chest voice Geoff is the deepest and most resonant of the three. Elliot Robinson can beat all three in chest voice and has one of the cleanest and deepest chest fries out there; I would say only Tim Storms has him beat on the latter.

    Its probably why his is your favorite voice. I think.. in this video I prefered Austin's? Only because I really like the grit, but smoothness he adds with growls and such. But in general, rob has my favorite voice.

      Somebody else said it was Rob. I think it is actually production. I've heard Adam's scratching and it doesn't sound the same as this is actually two different sounds. A DJ scratching noise is different from the static of a vinyl record. This is why I believe that part is production.

    Love your reaction! This song is very old, about 1915, and has been done by many artists, including Bob Dylan in the 1960s (my own folk singing days). It was, indeed, featured in the sound track of "Oh Brother..." by the Soggy Bottom Boys, and so that is the cover known by most young people. Home Free is going for a Bluegrass sound. If a guitar has fret memory, then my beloved old guitar could probably play this accompaniment without me. Please keep following Home Free -- you won't ever be disappointed!

    There are three acappela groups that most reactors get introduced to: Home Free, Voiceplay, and Pentatonix. All three competed on the Sing Off competition. Pentatonix won Season 3, and Home Free won Season 4. All three are awesome with a lot of videos and supportive fans that enjoy watching reactors on their first (and every😁) reaction. The talent and ranges of these singers in all three groups are beautiful and impressive. And many of the members also have their own UA-cam channels for their solo work. Pentotonix is frequently recommended with Hallelujah as a first reaction....one of their most viewed videos. One of my recent favorites of Voiceplay is the cover of Dream On by Aerosmith. I hope you will react to the additional bands and enjoy them.

    The unnamed one is Adam Chance, called Chance when with Home Free since there was already an Adam in the group. He's the baritone here but was the bass in his former group, Street Corner Symphony. Times when Tim goes high to tenor, Chance take the bass part. He's done several videos with the duo The Hound + The Fox (One feat. The Other and vice versa), the the harmonies between the 3 are amazing.. A Home Free song you might like is Moonshine. It's just one of the wonderful videos done during quarantine, with each guy usually in and around their own home. Austin is sitting on the same deck you see him working on in his solo video Earn It, and that's his personal fishing pond in the background which he often features in his outdoor channel The Beauty and the Bass. If you love Tim's deep voice you're sure to love the video he did with The Bass Gang about a month ago for Hooked On a Feeling. The four guys live up to their groups name.
