Definitely is nice hearing some blasting going on in a Trivium record. Very rare. Alex Bent seems to fit pretty damn well with the group and I hope he sticks around longer than the last couple drummers.
Believe it or not, this video was my first proper intro to Trivium. Before watching around when your video went live, I'd never gone out of my way to listen to Trivium. I'm gonna have to dig into their backlog now, cause this song drew me in. :D
just glad the new album isnt gonna be a Silence in the Snow part 2 (didnt hate it, but thought it was a huge dropoff after in waves and vengeance falls)
Jason X I personally liked Silence in the Snow. (HOW DARE ME!!!) I like The title track, Until the World Goes Cold, and a few others. But I am looking for more screaming. 🤘🤘🤘
First time checking out your vid. VERY cool. It's simple and I dig it. I am also extremely glad other folks are having positive reactions to this new Trivium, other than myself. You reacting this way brought a smile to my face. YES!
Coming back and watching these videos because I’m going to Rockville in Jacksonville, and Trivium is one of my fav bands there. I really hope this band gets more fame than they already do.
It's a mixing pot of like every album, seeing all albums lead up to this is so exciting, cannot fucking wait for the new album Also Alex's energy is fucking insane, last time I saw them he had just joined and holy fuck, he was gunning for it for whole 2 hours
great review first of all. I was blown away after hearing this for the first time. It's an amazing song. Reminds me of the old Ascendency days of yore.
I think the biggest thing for me is that Trivium hasn't released a song that I legitimately want or better yet HAVE to headbang to since shogun. There were a few songs on In waves i.e. Inception of the end, the opening riff to built to fall and the sped up part of a skylines severance. As far as Vengeance falls, only the bridge/outro riff really brought that out of me. And these are very specific instances. With Shogun, for me personally, there was a part in every song where I just wanted to kick some shit in. This song has brought that feeling back so I'm really interested to see where this album goes
It felt like they'd taken elements of all their albums and mixed them into one song. I really like it and yes, the drummer is insane. They've been through so many drummers, but this guy is an absolute beast!
I like that you know your shit. The fact that you knew what blast-beats were alone makes your video better than the others I've seen. So, thank you for knowing your shit. Lol. And this album is going to be epic, in my opinion. I can't wait.
I'm generally not into screaming but I think some bands make it work as "punctuation" to their general vocal performances, if that makes sense? and in this case if definitely adds to the song
Apparently Matt Heafy blew his voice out and had to get surgery around the time Silence in the Snow was being made. That's why he didn't scream on that album.
I like your reaction ,if I didn't already watch this 10 times already, you would have me buying and fucking loving the new Trivium,Alex Bent is fucking a true drummer
My favorite Trivium albums in order go like this.. 1. Shogun 2. In Waves/Sin and the Sentence 3. Ascendancy 4. The Crusade 5. Vengeance Falls 6. Silence in the Snow 7. Ember to Inferno
It's a mixture of Shogun and Silence In The Snow to me. You should really listen to Silence In The Snow more. I think half the songs on there are bangers. Vengeance is the album that I felt luke warm to me.
Their weakest album imo is The Crusade. I think I really only enjoyed 1 song off that album. That and Ember to Inferno are at the bottom of list for me. The songs off those 2 albums just didn't click with me. Vengeance and Silence are far better albums imo
dude i did not like vengeance but i listened a little more and that album was pretty badass. but that was just me. haha i think it is a bit more underrated
Their new drummer Alex Bent is a fucking badass on this! I hope there's more like it on the album \m/ Screaming is back but also kinda more agressive singing than Silence in the Snow. Gotta say I'm pretty excited for this one!
Everyone on here is talkin' about "Ascendancy" or "Shogun" being their best albums, which I totally agree, but I think "The Crusade" was one of their best, underrated albums. It's Trivium's "The Great Southern Trendkill", in my opinion.
Hey Chainsaw! There's an awesome fan trailer that came out last year it focuses on a Batman theory and is really well put together it is called "Batman: The Complex" Ultimate Trailer by Themanbatman and it is real, real good. I don't know if you've already seen this but if not, I highly recommend it when you have the time to react to it!
Matt Heafy blew his vocals between Vengeance Falls and Silence in the Snow and Silence in the Snow was really just so they wouldn't leave their fans with nothing to listen to. A well respected move although it fell compared to the other albums.
I personally like The Ascendancy better! But shogun is SOOOO close haha. Check out sylosis. The styles are similar, but it's heavier and I think the guitar tone / vocals are better :)
Dao Yang That's a pretty good count down. I agree completely with The Crusade being last. Vengeance Falls and The Crusade rank last for me. I can't even rank the first place album.
The most original song trivium has made since In Waves album. vengeance falls to me was pretty mediocre. I wasnt a huge fan of it. I liked silence in the snow..but I have to admit it wasnt a risky album at all. just some short songs..decent riffs and a solo thrown in. This type of track, however is what made me love trivium. They need to keep this sound and crank out what could potentially be their best album for them in the past decade.
No problem with not enjoying Silence In The Snow, honestly. Every good band is bound to put out a stinker or two. I personally agree with what you said about the first three singles from SITS, awesome tunes but the remainder of the album fell flat. BUT, TSATS makes up for it a million times over in my opinion lol. Great video dude, cheers :)
Around 6 minutes for the song and maybe 30 seconds of blasting for the songs entirety. Do they really detract from the song that much to you? I personally love blast beats and thought they were well utilized here.
Excited to hear more from this new album! HYPE!
Chainsaw Reacts I asked to you on twitter yesterday if you would do this and now here it is, I'm excited to watch your reaction!!! I love the song!
Alex Bent it's a fucking beast, I saw them in Madrid in March and he killed it!! xD
I know this is 8 months old... but please tell me where you got that amazing hat!?!
Whats the name of the song on your intro?
I love alex's drumming so much. Especially all the really cool stuff he's doing on the ride. It's just phenominal
Fans: I wonder what album's sound Trivium is gonna use on their new album?
Trivium: ALL OF THEM
All except for Vengeance Falls
Definitely is nice hearing some blasting going on in a Trivium record. Very rare. Alex Bent seems to fit pretty damn well with the group and I hope he sticks around longer than the last couple drummers.
This new drummer is like a mix of all their previous, he fits with this band so well. I'm so happy they picked him up
Believe it or not, this video was my first proper intro to Trivium. Before watching around when your video went live, I'd never gone out of my way to listen to Trivium.
I'm gonna have to dig into their backlog now, cause this song drew me in. :D
The drummer is Alex Bent he played for Battlecross and he’s a personal friend and I can’t be happier for him
Drummer is Alex Bent formerly of Battlecross!!!
Cory Wise And Rings of Saturn!!!
and Brain Drill!!
@@FamilyGuyRoks6 BRRRRAAAIIINNNDDDDRRRIIILLLLL!!!! 🤘💀🤘
i personally heard some In Waves throughout some sections ...which is a great thing because thats my fav album by trivium
Jason X The breakdown riffs were very reminiscent of Dusk Dismantled, Inception of the End, and Shattering the Skies Above.
agreed
just glad the new album isnt gonna be a Silence in the Snow part 2 (didnt hate it, but thought it was a huge dropoff after in waves and vengeance falls)
Jason X I personally liked Silence in the Snow. (HOW DARE ME!!!) I like The title track, Until the World Goes Cold, and a few others. But I am looking for more screaming. 🤘🤘🤘
my fav tracks from snow werent even the singles. i liked the ghost thats haunting you and beneath the sun the most.
First time checking out your vid. VERY cool. It's simple and I dig it. I am also extremely glad other folks are having positive reactions to this new Trivium, other than myself. You reacting this way brought a smile to my face. YES!

They are back! Thank you Trivium!
I must have desensitized to blast beats and double base after hearing a lot tech death after in waves. I didn't even realize the build up at 3:48
Postmodern Condition
That build up is crazy.
I listen to a lot of Reflections. Look up their song An Artifact by Reflections. Their pretty sick.
Absolutely loved this song. Great reaction as always man!
great review first of all. I was blown away after hearing this for the first time. It's an amazing song. Reminds me of the old Ascendency days of yore.

dude i had the same reaction!. this drummer is fucking beast! cant wait for the new album.
It felt like they'd taken elements of all their albums and mixed them into one song. I really like it and yes, the drummer is insane. They've been through so many drummers, but this guy is an absolute beast!
Shogun and silence in the snow are my two favourite albums so this new album is perfect for me. (In waves and Ascendancy close seconds)
The best song since shattering the skies above
Matthew Benoit It really feels like the sequel to Throes of Perdition.
Avenged Sevenfold - Exist
A K he already did that
The drummer is pretty fucking good
“did he say fuck?!” 😂😂
"What the hell?!" 😂 my same exact reaction when I first heard it as well.
In silence in the snow, Matt couldn’t scream because he blew his vocals out. M shadows helped him get his scream back
I love your reaction videos, you crack me up mate haha
I like that you know your shit. The fact that you knew what blast-beats were alone makes your video better than the others I've seen. So, thank you for knowing your shit. Lol. And this album is going to be epic, in my opinion. I can't wait.

7:07 you're reaction at the end when he screams "fuck" hahahahah couldn't stop laughing. awesome song!!
It's a new drummer Chainsaw.
Judiel Gonzalez I know. They get a new drummer every 6 months lol
Chainsaw Reacts hoping they actually keep this one around for more than an album lol
Yeah this new drummer is wicked. Really hope he becomes a permanent member.
Judiel Gonzalez don’t we all lol
@@gravenwolf6535 Well Alex is still a member. And a fucking amazing drummer lol
I'm stoked to hear more from their new album too because the drummer had me like 😱😧😦😮😬
My favorite Trivium albums in order go like this..
1. Shogun
2. In Waves/Sin and the Sentence
3. Ascendancy
4. The Crusade
5. Vengeance Falls
6. Silence in the Snow
7. Ember to Inferno
i guess Heafy will only scream some chorus and at the end of the song in live version i guess since we all know that Corey will lead the scream
I love how his reaction was so similar to mine.... who is this drummer and where did they find him haha. Alex is a monster!
Ne Obliviscaris - Intra Venus. An amazing prog metal track, I'd tell you more but that would just spoil that which should not be spoilt.
If you like it I'd recommend "Curator" by the same band which is the 3rd part of a 16 minute masterpiece. Mind boggling.
Yes, I was waiting this reaction. Let's go!
It's a mixture of Shogun and Silence In The Snow to me. You should really listen to Silence In The Snow more. I think half the songs on there are bangers. Vengeance is the album that I felt luke warm to me.
KyleHuynh94 Silence is soooo good!!
Their weakest album imo is The Crusade. I think I really only enjoyed 1 song off that album. That and Ember to Inferno are at the bottom of list for me. The songs off those 2 albums just didn't click with me.
Vengeance and Silence are far better albums imo
C/Sky The Crusade was the weakest vocal wide to me, but there are some awesome riffs and solos on there.
dude i did not like vengeance but i listened a little more and that album was pretty badass. but that was just me. haha i think it is a bit more underrated
I hear a lot of ascendancy near the end of the song
Their new drummer Alex Bent is a fucking badass on this! I hope there's more like it on the album \m/
Screaming is back but also kinda more agressive singing than Silence in the Snow. Gotta say I'm pretty excited for this one!
Alex "The Octopus" Bent on drum
Is that a Godzilla 2000 poster in the background?
Hell yeah it is
Been waiting all day for this reaction
I loved Silence. Different approach to previous albums but i enjoyed it, Vengeance Falls on the other hand didn't move me much :p
Love your videos man keep them coming! Just subscribed bro bro!
i swear that intro is just brutal for my neck!
What’s the song you use for your intro? Sounds like a smooth banger.
Caustic are the tides that bind by trivium
Caustic are the tides that bind by trivium
In my opinion it's ascendency seen em twice and Everytime the play the old shit shit gets rough
This song feels/ sounds like the sequel to Throes of Perdition.
Especially where they get stabbed in the back in the video.
I put their new album just after shogun..i love it!!
What’s the name of the song in the intro of this video?
I know this is late, and you probably found it already, but the song is "Caustic Are The Ties That Bind" by Trivium, from their album 'In Waves'.
@@Anthony-ob5fy great tune!
I used to love trivium but I forgot they existed for about 5 years lik
Loved the song, love the reaction and I'm earliest I can possibly be. Good night.

The drummer is awesome
Which song is it , in the beggining of the video ???
Edesio Almeida Caustic Are The Ties That Bind
You should react to Pentakill - Lightbringer or Mortal Reminder
NyxReL
He should do Last Whisper.
I mean you expect Trivium songs to have amazing drum tracks (unlike Metallica) but I mean this guy really took it to the next level
