Alex is just insane. His taste and technical ability together are inhuman Also, favorite drummer is definitely Alex and song is torn between a pillar of Serpents and down from the sky
Your videos are like therapy for me - you calm me down and bring peace to my day. I watch it at the time of the day when my stress is the highest - THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO
Yeah that wasn´t live, he did post a disclaimer in the video description that some parts may look weird. It´s basicaly the Music Video from the Song but only the drum parts that were filmed mashed together. Alex started with latin/Jazz music and began to play technical death metal and Trash with bands like Testament or Brain Drill. So his speed and technical side comes from the death metal and the groove and use of the cymbals and rides from his Jazz background. One of Triviums new songs "Fall into your hands" clearly shows how he combines these two styles to perfection, check that one out if you´re interested. Good Video mate :)
All their drummers were really good for me its technical diversity and arrangements Alex Bent. In a close 2nd Original Drummer. And 2 badass Drummers you should check out. Mike Portnoy and Mike Mangini Mangini holds speed records or did for several years.
Alex is the best drummer Trivium has ever had, but my favourite is the original, Travis Smith. He wasnt nearly as technical as Alex but I think he made drum parts that fit their songs better while managing to create iconic fills
Alex's cymbal work is incredible. Super precise with what he does!
