- Back from the dead? After seeing multiple GE C40-8M's headed southbound over the past year, supposedly sold to knew owners or being scrapped, it was quite the surprise to see one headed northbound. (It was dead-in-tow.)
If you know why CN 2427 was headed northbound this morning, post-up in the comments.

Looks like an F45. The Milwaukee road had four of them to pull the Hiawathas before Amtrak.
What milepost do you railfan? I’m on 113.37 and I’ve sen the EJ&E heritage unit and I’m sad because I’ve missed so many good ones lately
Rugby Junction is from MP117 to 118. I find that I have to watch nearly every train that goes by to catch the interesting stuff, especially like this one that comes through at daybreak when other railfans aren't out yet.
We will probably hear about its disposition soon, whether it be preservation efforts or a Shortline owner etc.. One BC rail barn made it to preservation in Alberta
Many of the barns made it to short line railroad out West and some were scrapped in Illinois. I'm not sure what made 2427 attractive enough to drag it back up north.
Going to the CN Campus in winnipeg for mechanical training
It's becoming a locomotive cadaver? 😵
Going to be used as part of the training program, testing electrical components, removing PA's, correct diagnostics, airbrake systems
hello Rugby Junction & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Rugby Junction & Friends Randy
