Could you guys do the next video about mushrooms? I'm a huge mushroom fan and i'd really love to have a variety of recipes to use them in, even better if they were the main ingredient.
Love the recipes, but I also just love the dynamics between all of you. I don't know if any other foodies have succeeded with four in the kitchen, but you guys pull it off so well. It's like the overall Sorted twist on recipe videos.
Cucumber soda! Let a sliced cucumber sit in about half a cup to a cup of sugar (depending on how sweet you want the drink) and a teaspoon or two of salt for ten to fifteen minutes in a gallon pitcher. Add a half liter of club soda and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Fill the rest of the pitcher with club soda and let sit in the refrigerator for an hour. Optional: Add the juice of a lime to the cucumber-sugar-salt mixture at the beginning. If you find your soda isn't sweet enough (my family tends to go for a mixture that's 3/4 of a cup of sugar to 3.5 liters of club soda), make a simple syrup and slowly mix it into the drink. I personally love it with lime juice but one of my sisters prefers it without the lime. I suppose you could also add some mint at the beginning with the cucumber if you want a cucumber and mint drink. It's really simple and it keeps my family off of the super-sugary
Perfect video for me! I literally eat cucumber every single day but never make an effort of preparing an actual dish with them. I eat them just like this or tossed into a salad. I like these recipes though, especially the raita! I once made your eggplant raita (was it eggplant?) Anyway, I love it and the freshness of the cucumber must be amazing in this! I also like it in tzatziki, with onions and loooads of garlic!
is anyone else just in awe at the synchronised cucumber throw and catch at 0:20?!!??! and the fact that ben and barry didn't even need to look? i liked the video already based on just that intro.
Hahahaha my god, no one believes how much I laugh over a recipe video, I'm just LOVING this series!! Really, cucumber was an unexpected ingredient, and now I'm dying to try these recipes!! My mom taught me a different salad: she cuts the cucumber into chunks, smashes them so they break into irregular pieces, seasons with garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil and white sesame seeds. It gets better if you let it rest in the fridge for a while, so the flavors get stronger. It's very refreshing! 😋
I loved that video. Everything is so simple. Especially appreciated now, when nobody wants to spend hours in the kitchen. Fast, fresh, easy...and look amazing. Can't wait to try those recipes out!
Watching these soy boys and metro sexuals is cringe, especially now in 2020 with a ''global reset'' happenimng to destroy everything humans enjoy. We need real men for what is coming down the road.
I like to serve tuna salad in cucumber boats! Peel them, slice them lengthwise, and carve out the seeds with a spoon. Perfect complement to the delicious fresh tuna!
1 Grated cucumber 1 plain yogurt container 1 clove of minced garlic salt a few a lot of pepper mix it all and take a small pinch of dried mint scrub it with your hands mix and serve .. that's my favorite salad specially with Rusk as a fresh breakfast YUM YUM ..
Two of my favorite side dishes found in KY are cucumbers and onions with either a sour cream dressing or vinegar dressing. Mix equal parts fresh cucumbers and onions with salt and pepper to form base for both. For creamier version add a small tub of sour cream, a TBL vinegar, and optional dash of horseradish. For Vinegar version coat onions and cucumbers with mixture of red wine and white vinegar. Let each recipe marinade for a few hours in the fridge (If you can stand it), and enjoy! They are both super refreshing and everyone in the south eats them ferociously!
I personnally love a cucumber soup that is served cold. Just blend up a cucumber with some cream yoghurt and dill add a pinch of salt and some lime or lemon juice..done. I like to add a splash of sparkling water after the blending as well to give it a little prickle as well. Very refreshing and easy recipe for hot days like today (32°C here :D ) best serve with some crunch (fresh baguette or something)
I love a good smoothie, cucumber and spinach are definitely my favourite ingredients, I would've also added a Granny Smith Apple (to counter balance the sweetness) and grapes
we usually add chopped roasted peanuts to our raita, along with cucumber, onion, salt, and pepper. we also add a quick fry-up ("tadka") of red chili, mustard seeds, and cumin seeds. i've never thought of adding roasted cashew before - definitely going to try it!
Every summer my family slices cucumbers and onions and put them into a mix of vinegar and water. We add a hint if salt and pepper and then let it sit in the fridge for awhile before eating as a snack. It's amazing!!!
This just appeared as a recommendation today. Nice to see it again. And I'm amazed you had a mission from the start. I'm glad you're successful today and I wish you will remain successful for many years to come. Happy holidays!
In Poland there is a really popular salad called 'mizeria'. U cut the cucumber in breadth, sprinkle it with salt and let it sit for a few minutes. Then you mix the whole thing with 12 or 18% sour cream. Some families make it salty like this but others (including mine) make it sweet by adding the sugar to cream. The really common way is to serve it with schnitzel and potatoes :)
Loved the ideas! Personally, I'd change the flax oil for 1/4 an avocado, add a splash of apple cider vinegar, and a bit more water. That way the texture would be nice and smooth.
The raita looks very interesting. I never knew such a name existed, quite frankly. I always recognized it as a type of sauce or a dip. The smoothie is my favorite, as it is simple and very good for detox. The cucumber strip salad looked very innovating! I'll definitely try that out soon, granted that I find good cucumbers that don't have weird marks on their skin.
SORTED Food Brilliant of you guys to feature something that's some sort a common staple here in South east Asia; malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, The Philippines, Singapore, just to name a few. Here in Singapore, Raita are always served with Indian/Mediterranean/Arab food. Somehow It's to compliment and balance the spiciness of these food:- Tandoori chicken/lamb/beef, Briyani rice.. only new thing is the fact that Roasted Cashews are added;- now I know the trick to add texture and thicken my Raita for future dishes. Thank you and lots of love from Singapore!!
I love how you guys are funny and great chefs. It's like a 2 in 1. And I really love your videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The dressing for the cucumber salad is one of my favorites now :) It's perfect for any salad you want an Asian taste for, or even a great dipping sauce for cuces and carrots.
Hi... I had made the raita &the salad..didn't do the drink though...wasn't too sure about it....&both of them were really really nice.truly amazing. . Thanks a lot.:-) One thing I really want to thank u is the timing of roasting cashews was soooooo perfect.a min less would have not roasted to the point, a min up would have got burnt! ! It was a very small thing in the making but this was like being delivered only from a perfectionist.something ill always keep with me when roasting cashews.&that roasting u would not get in pan!!
I used to work in a grocery story that had a juice bar. You know what's surprisingly good in a smoothie like that cucumber one? Parsley. Totally freshens and enriches the profile! Throw some green apples and a little celery in that, and you'll basically have one of my old favorites.
We used to have creamy cucumbers in the summer. Thinly sliced cukes and onions tossed in a simple dressing of mayo, sugar, touch of vinegar, salt & pepper to taste. Fresh, cool and delicious after a long hot day of being a kid in summer!
My father used to made an awesome Dutch Cucumber Salad: basically, it's thinly sliced cucumbers and onions left to brine in vinegar/sugar mixture for a couple of hours. Perfect for a hot summer day.
Hot'n'sour yumminess!! Ooh, that cucumber salad is one of my ultimate fave cucumber dishes! I use vinegar instead and let it marinate in the dressing for a couple of hours. Craving it right now!
A nice vinegary sweet BBQ Pulled pork stuffed braised cucumber is DIVINE. I'd love to see you boys do a cucumber dish that requires cooking the cucumbers.
i've never seen kheera ka raita (cucumber raita) done like this before, especially not as a dip! i'm used to it being much thinner and eating it as a side dish, but this looks really good!! i'm gonna try this out.
The fresh smell of cucumber...ahhhhhh!....I agree! I love me a cucumber and tomato salad with salt and pepper, lemon juice and some good 10-year aged balsamic. Hallelujah!
Love cucumber definitely one of my favorite foods I love it in the summer paired with watermelon and feta cheese but my favorite was is to cut it up into thin rounds and mix it with a bit of garlic salt pepper sour cream and feta and have a really refreshing cucumber salad similar to your riter
I love cucumbers!!!! :D Definitely trying a green smoothie tomorrow - we have loads of cucumbers because we grow them ourselves! :D I personally like it just sliced with some salt and sesame oil :) super easy but delicious and refreshing! Also, like those before me, could we do s mushroom video??? :) I adore mushrooms too and there's so much you can do with them!
Classic cucumber dish in my family is thickly sliced cucumber discs tossed with a mix of balsamic vinegar, sea salt, and a sparing dash of olive oil. Super simple and super tasty.
Grated cucumber+boiled chickpeas+plain yogurt+1 or 2 cloves of grated garlic. Mix and serve with drizzle of olive oil and add some mint leaves. Amazing salad of g. Sorted :)
One of my favorite ingredients for raita is roasted cumin power. It's also good for just about any other South Asian recipe. You can just throw some cumin on a pan over low heat until you can smell it roasting then wait for it to cool before you grind it. Keep it in a jar and use it in everything.
There is a kind of cucumber pickled salad popular in certain parts of south east asia, called achar which consists of cucumber strips with carrot, chili, cabbage, pineapple and a sprinkling of ground peanuts. Tastes fantastic as an accompaniment with coconut or briyani rice. I'm sure Sorted would be able to give it an interesting twist though. Also love mixed vegetable salad which is cucumber cubes with mixed peas and carrots and a thin mayo dressing. Dressing is slightly sweet and tangy and the salad tastes wonderful just out of the fridge. My mom makes a really tasty cucumber stir fry with cellophane noodles and vegetarian fish balls made with konjac, flavoured with nothing but salt and sugar. It's a healthy dish with a yummy gravy spooned over rice or just on its own.
MIKE not only is back (yea) but brings a great recipe as well. Great for a brunch or just sitting in the shade. Not Nigel says go for it, and the drink as well.
SORTED Food "What do you think of when you think cucumber?....(big pause while naughty jokes go through your head) ... salads. that's the right answer salads." LOL

these recipes look great but i love more easy recipes so i do it generally: i grate two cucumbers, put it in a deep bowl and add lots homemade yogurt(almost liquid) with some salt and 1/2 cup of water, stir it and put some ice cubes ~~ that's a Turkish cold drink named 'cacık' ^^ it is delicious and easy drink with funny name!
Actually burst out laughing a few times. I might just have a dirty mind but you guys are seriously the best way to cheer up my boring Saturday afternoon. And Jamie so weren't thinking of salad. Love the music too!
Ben: "What do you think of when you see a cucumber?"
Jamie thinks "Don't say penis. Don't say penis. Don't say penis."
Jamie: "Salad."
Considering Jamie's track record they may have had to redo that scene a couple of times
Could you guys do the next video about mushrooms? I'm a huge mushroom fan and i'd really love to have a variety of recipes to use them in, even better if they were the main ingredient.

SORTED Food clearly that's not true. :PP

@@NoNORADon911 😂😂😂😂😂 you’re one funny guy

Cucumber is perfect for summer and all three of these recipes are great for a summer picnic or bbq!! Once again delicious!
I like to serve tuna salad in cucumber boats! Peel them, slice them lengthwise, and carve out the seeds with a spoon. Perfect complement to the delicious fresh tuna!
That sounds awesome!
My pregnant belly is now craving that! Sounds so nice!!
I am so gonna try that!!!
1 Grated cucumber
1 plain yogurt container
1 clove of minced garlic
salt
a few a lot of pepper
mix it all and take a small pinch of dried mint
scrub it with your hands
mix
and serve ..
that's my favorite salad specially with Rusk as a fresh breakfast
YUM YUM ..
I love grilling or just heating slices of cucumber (not too hot, it needs to keep its crunch) and putting a tiiny bit of flaked salt on! It's amazing
That cucumber strip salad looks AMAAAAZING!!!!!!!!! I would love to enjoy that with some cold soba noodles!

Cucumber, lychee and coconut frappe! It's an amazing and refreshing combination.
Tzatziki is an awesome use of cucumbers. Yum! I keep getting gyros at my local farmers market.

The salad looks delicious! Excited to try this one, especially with the dressing! Thanks guys :)!
Tzatziki is the best cucumber dish of them all
it looks like raita
similar concept... different cuisine and culture. But yoghurt and cucumber yeah.
Doesn't tzatziki usually have dill in it too?
I know its made with greek yoghurt. I dont know about the spices, sorry
Janet Randall some use mint and dill, some just mint... i prefer only dill. :)
Sr Secca yes! I love it so much!
Have you heard of Tarator? Another amazing dish with cucumber for hot summer. Great with toast.
The dressing for the cucumber salad is one of my favorites now :) It's perfect for any salad you want an Asian taste for, or even a great dipping sauce for cuces and carrots.
I make a cold cucumber soup with dill whoch I top off w/ smoked salmon and home made croutons. Lots of swedish flavours and super tasty!

Absolutely love this series

Peanut butter & cucumber sandwich! Give it a go, it's great!
As someone who is really NOT a fan of cucumbers, I may actually be convinced to try all three of these recipes! That raita looks amazing!
***** Definitely worth giving them a go! The raita is really good, and is not too cucumbery! :)
Hot'n'sour yumminess!!
Ooh, that cucumber salad is one of my ultimate fave cucumber dishes!
I use vinegar instead and let it marinate in the dressing for a couple of hours.
Craving it right now!

Mikes disapproving look at Barry's terrible pun. Brilliant.
Four handsome men flailing cucumbers at me...That certainly doesn't happen every day.
This was quite an entertaining video, Ben! Great job setting it up and I loved all the little additions to it, music wise :D
Great video. I'll definitely be trying all 3 of those recipes.

Love it!!! So healthy, I definately have to try these three options :)
My house does something similar to the cucumber salad, but we add ribbons of carrot as well along with toasted flaked almonds. Very nommy.
I like how you include the healthy options for people who necessarily don't like fatty choices, thanks!!
I love eating cucumber slices dipped in Thai sweet chili sauce it's a great snack!
Cucumber, smoked salmon and swiss cheese pizza on flat bread with garlic sauce base. MMmmmm yum.
I have so many dirty jokes for this one, but ill refrain from such things.
Looks like Jamie was trying real hard not to comment as well
Like the 5:15 moment. xD I started laughing so much at Jamie's face AHAHAH
I could think of a few dozen on the title alone!
I love cucumbers!!!! :D
Definitely trying a green smoothie tomorrow - we have loads of cucumbers because we grow them ourselves! :D
I personally like it just sliced with some salt and sesame oil :) super easy but delicious and refreshing!
No tzatziki?! Great video none the less guys!
raita is kind of like tzatziki

I was wondering about that, thanks for the clearup!
I love how chuffed Barry is with his raita joke.
I've never liked cucumbers, but these recipes make me want to go buy some and try them all. Looks like a healthy few days ahead. :D

Grate cucumber and mix in a small pot of strawberry yoghurt, its something I found at a BBQ / Braai in South Africa
With cucumbers hmmm....One dish that I remember is cucumber kimchi that I ate with dimsum. Some kimchi recipes would be fun, you can do a lot with it!
Another great video as always! I love to make tzatziki sauce with cucumbers or sliced and dipped in hummus.
loving your cucumber smoothie!!
MIKE not only is back (yea) but brings a great recipe as well. Great for a brunch or just sitting in the shade. Not Nigel says go for it, and the drink as well.
I don't know about you guys but I giggled as I read the title... "3 Things To Do With: Cucumbers"... Yup, I'm dirty minded and proud!
Jamie did struggle in this video!
SORTED Food Only Jamie struggled?! I totally collapsed at the "wet and soggy" part!
SORTED Food "What do you think of when you think cucumber?....(big pause while naughty jokes go through your head) ... salads. that's the right answer salads." LOL
Next time I'm in charge of the salad station in school I'm definetly going to do that salad :) Seems awesome.
The cucumber salad! YUM!
My family always serves cucumber in slices or smallish chunks with a little salt and sesame oil. If you let it "marinate" while you're cooking the rest of your food it's perfect. An alternative way to serve it is with soy sauce and a tiny bit of dark vinegar :) we eat this almost everyday!
i keep replaying 2:53 HAAHAHAHA BARRY AND ALSO MIKE'SFACE
Pretty sure I'll be trying all of these recipes.. Awesome video! :)
My aunt made a cucumber salad with Greek yogurt, dill, and diced cucumber and it went great with salmon!!
Loving this show more and more by the week.
Ha! Literally put cucumber my eyes today because they were itching :') Love cucumber, some people think it's useless but it's so good for you!
loveeee this series! do one with mushrooms and bread!
Best "3 Things To Do" so far. I LOVE all the the dishes. :) But cucumber is delicious anyway.
I loooove cucumbers!! So happy about this video. Gonna try these out :)
"The onion and the garlic gives it a slight uh-nyum-nyum-nyum..." XD Dearest Ben, your descriptions today are quite the hilarity.
Not one for smoothies normally but this one looks good! Might give it a try!
these recipes look great but i love more easy recipes so i do it generally:
i grate two cucumbers, put it in a deep bowl and add lots homemade yogurt(almost liquid) with some salt and 1/2 cup of water, stir it and put some ice cubes ~~ that's a Turkish cold drink named 'cacık' ^^ it is delicious and easy drink with funny name!
