This song is called "panheads forever" It was writen and sung by the great David Allan Coe. In my opion, it is one of his best pieces. It's off the "Not For Airplay" record. Thank you for posting it. Panhed Spike
I bought my first Panhead when I was 17 back in 1969, for $780.00. I sold it when I got married 3 years later. It took me until 2004 to get another one. Who could have guessed that most of them would wind up in Japan? Had a '79 Shovel for a while, but traded it for the Panhead I now have. There's just something about a Pan that you can't describe to anybody who's never had one.
I sold my 1957 FLH panhead good Friday 2018 to a younger biker after riding her for 49years. 4 or 5 rebuilds. Many late nights with my brothers drinking, fighting and laughing. Never once laid her down. I knew the time had come to let her go before she killed me. It was a sad day. I will never forget "that old panhead of mine".
This is one of the best songs and videos ever made. It was featured in one of the first Easyriders Magazine Videos,...back when they were those VHS-tape-things. Thanks for puttin' it online.
Great video I miss my Panhead I had for 18 years, the new harleys are nice but not like the old Pan from my party days in the 1960s and 1970s. Now I gotta go wipe the tears away. Phil
exceptional ANTHEM,,,, i insist all H D owners listin & cherish what the PAN means,,,, it aint all about HP & modern & fancy or fast,,,,,,, its all about your best freind ever & not a ol hag either,,,,, maybe a DOG can be a somewhat equal to a PAN,,,,,, but not a ol hag,,,,,, PAN forver !

I don't know of any other song about motorcycles but I always loved this song. One of Dave's best and most memorable for me!

Bad Bob 1950 Pan still got it ,coming at ya since 75
I cried for 2 hrs last night missing my bike life ain't worth living without her.
I had a couple of ole 48 pans both with suicide shift. Love my Pan. Sold it when I got a divorce.
It was a "suicide clutch" or jockey shift.
It’s a shame that dressers became baggers and dungarees became jeans.
And they turned Panheads into twin cams
One of my all time favorites!!
