Another real review and the least expensive series of DD did great.. 700w woofer taking burst of 500 shows you the quality. Also having custom built box would let that perform even better

@55tbyrd My setup is in a Nissan NV 3500. It's a big passenger van. It has a ton of air volume. The ten was the compromise between my wife and I. It only metered 119db in the van. But for the air space it does very well. I put it in my son's camry once and it was crazy how loud it was. No meter data because the meter I used was from my work.

Great video! I recommend the Redline 712d. I have two and even though theyre sealed for now and underpowered, they get loud. They're trumping my 2 l7 12s.

In the UK we have bassface indy s Subwoofers who are half the price and twice as good. 15" is £130 ($180) and are 1500wrms, 3" vc and great Fs of 27.4Hz !
DD is good stuff in general but 750 all day on the budget bin I guess so so . Who is the US authorized dealer? The bassface does seem promising for a mid tier sub if it holds true to specs
Hey Parker I really like the video that you had done on the American bass DX in American bass XD subwoofers a few months ago that I went on in ahead and purchased me two American Bass DX 10 in subwoofers because they are budget-friendly and I have wanted to run something different than anyone else where I am from so keep up the good and keep on making great videos.
Finally a DD sub! I think the voice coil bottomed out very hard during the spl testing. That 4-5k watts was a little much. lol I hope you test some of there other subs. Great review as always! Thanks Parker!
The 612 e is great in my opinion, but the have an F model and it has better colling. I hope we can see the 12 inch dd line up from 612f, 712f and the 812f. Those are beasts. Great videos between 🤘🏼😎
When I was first getting into car audio DD was a brand I really wanted to run. But 270 bucks for 700 RMS and a cookie cutter design? Eh, I'll pass. The Deaf Bonce machete 15s, that I'm currently running, are rated at 800 RMS and are being sold for 120. DD's just asking way too much for what the sub is, in my opinion. Try not to get hung up on RMS but yes DD are abusing their name to get top dollar for what really is a $120 sub at most. No different to the likes of JL for their entry level gear but people keep paying for it so there's no reason for them to change i guess.

I’m running a single skar ddx 15d2 and it does 1000 rms and the motor is huge for the price and it’s only 180 brandnew. Just a guess but ide say by holding it it weighs around 30-40 pounds
Glad to see your new video. The main local shop that I’ve been going to since I was a kid 30+ years ago has a list of awards from DD. It’s Tony’s mainline he runs at The Audio Edge in Bossier City, LA. Their mini amps are quite impressive. Subs are top of the line in performance.
i had 12 inch DD subwoofer 2-3 years ago before it got stolen. i have to say i have always used budget subs but that DD really played loud and clean for sure! And i sure do miss it for sure. got a different brand now.

I have a DD 9515 d1 and love that sub. In a custom ported box on a ct sounds team 3000.1. On good electric. You would never believe there is only 1 sub in my 08 tahoe. I WILL NEVER SELL IT

Pretty much no one offers recones on inexpensive subs. That's usually reserved for the higher end stuff. By the time you send it out, pay someone to create a kit, install it and ship it back your almost at the cost of a new sub. That's true of all brands, with maybe a few exceptions.

I cant speak for all their products but i do have 2 of their sl612s in a custom sealed box and i am very happy with them. I may not push them as hard as possible but i do push them hard for long periods of time. That being said a local dealer of dd said their high end stuff was good but to stay away from their budget redline stuff. Good for a small budget but thats about it. Be safe and be blessed!
15 inch 500-700 watt sub for $300ish including a decent 500-1000 watt amp isn't a bad combo if one has a box already, if not it's like $450 for daily everyday jams although maybe going for something like kicker or other brands that have more budget friendly combos would work better
I’m not impressed at all. For about the same price you can pickup a Savard HiQ 12” that is rated to handle 1,500 watts, is a VERY musical subwoofer, and gets loud. Test out a Savard Parker!!!

Awesome sub that low FS is exactly what I like! And I've been listening to youtube with a set of Infinity tower speakers and 12" subwoofer for about a year now. Before that I had a different Infinity system that also sounds amazing! Oh and their 12" sub can take just about anything!

@ah4800 remember that it has a carbon fiber dust cab if gets warm from it you need to turn it down. If you can feel heat on a cab like that . They coil needs to he Hella hot .
Can someone recommend me what 8" subs (2PCS) should I use on my small sedan car? Subs are on the back on the "hat shelf", infinite baffle configuration (using the trunk as box). Currently I use alpine swg-844 speakers (120W rms each) but they are a little weak and max out easily. Planning on getting Alpine Type-Rs or DD 508-s. Ground zero is also an option, I'm based in Europe so there ain't many other cheap subs to get here. Nice vid tho, I have had DD 615 speakers in the past, they worked fine but I had issue with the leads going from terminal to the voice coil (on the spider), they simply rotted out...
2x8's are not enough cone area for free air. Add another pair of alpine subs to make 4x8's. Or change to 2x15's, for free air subs look for qts around 0.7, low fs, high x-max
For the price, if you want SPL... there better choices, but kudos to the bottom line DD for tanking 4k watts lol. Level 3 or level 4 DD subs will take an absolute beating... these did OK for the expectation. I think there are "better" subs for a similar price. Brands like American Bass and Deaf Bonce offer similar priced solutions that can handle more power and take an even bigger beating.
That box doesn’t like low lows, and the budget DD sub is great however for the price point you will be happier with a Skar EVL and a few other subs that are better suited for abuse. The 500 series is not a SPL sub it’s designed as a SQ sub. Put it in a custom box and it will be much louder just won’t be as loud as other subs that are more aimed for SPL.
Would love to see you test a 9900 fully loaded to show people what DD is all about. The Z series is too expensive but the 9900 is very reasonable for what it is.
Your box sounds like mines that skar prefab i want to know if its really tunrd too 31hz cuz i have evl 15 in there prefab 15ich an it just sounds weird to my ears maybe im trippin or my system needs retuning i had 10s but took them out yesterday and threw in the evl 15 with the rp.1200.1

I’ve lowkey had some cheap ass xXx 15s since I was 12 I’m 24 now and still can’t believe it tbh I never fully broke them in and have kinda babied them on a 700w rms at 6ohm minimum Sony surround sound system but they are both 4 ohm and I got them wired to 2 ohm anyone know anything about them I’m not even sure what brand they are they just have xXx in red on them 700 watt rms 1400 max is what they are rated

I have 2 of the sl610s in a skar box under the back seats of my f150 amd they sound great.
Those Skar single subs are tuned fairly high for a lows setup. I think its sold around 36hz but I had one that was closer to 38hz.

NVX VCW V3 15" sub and make sure you get a dual 2, you had a dual 4 last time and didn't give it any power.

That box doesn’t like low lows, and the budget DD sub is great however for the price point you will be happier with a Skar EVL and a few other subs that are better suited for abuse. The 500 series is not a SPL sub it’s designed as a SQ sub.
Put it in a custom box and it will be much louder just won’t be as loud as other subs that are more aimed for SPL.

Your box sounds like mines that skar prefab i want to know if its really tunrd too 31hz cuz i have evl 15 in there prefab 15ich an it just sounds weird to my ears maybe im trippin or my system needs retuning i had 10s but took them out yesterday and threw in the evl 15 with the rp.1200.1

I’ve lowkey had some cheap ass xXx 15s since I was 12 I’m 24 now and still can’t believe it tbh I never fully broke them in and have kinda babied them on a 700w rms at 6ohm minimum Sony surround sound system but they are both 4 ohm and I got them wired to 2 ohm anyone know anything about them I’m not even sure what brand they are they just have xXx in red on them 700 watt rms 1400 max is what they are rated
