The airshow disaster influence for the name comes across through the lyrics of some sogs, even if they deny it. hey only added an "M", and so, the explanation of "ramming stone" makes sense, too.
On some farms there is an big stone at the beginning of the farm road up to the houses. On this stone the name of the farm is carved in. This stone is an Rammstein.
Look at how young Till was in this interview, for me Ollie speaks the purest truth, it's very presumptuous that you don't even try to interpret something but still think you're able to give an opinion super deep about this... And that's exactly what the 90s media did with Rammstein.
First they write on their Tour bus "Rammstein Flugshow" until they reallized, that the town is writen with only one "M". To avoid a discurs and to hide this accidentely misstake they cut out the word "Flugshow" and explain to the press that it mean these ramming stones. So both is true. They have double meaning in all parts.
Richard's band before Rammstein was “Orgasm Death Gimmick”. The Emigrate project only came about during his time with Rammstein. He also played with Till in “First Arsch”.
The statement about the origin of the name is an empty excuse. Rammstein was even called “Rammstein Flugschau (Airshow)” at the beginning. It was also written on the tour bus of Flake's and Paul's band Feeling B.

You have to understand D the media are the main culprits with the rumors and that includes how the band name came about.
The Name?! the Truth is - both! Of course they took the name from the giant Doorstops - but behind the curtain they had the Accident in Mind... Its the typical Rammstein ambiguity ;) greetz from Germany!
same here, Iggy Pop in the ''R+ in Amerila'' doc..describes their name as 'RAM ' to ''push through'' and ''Stein'' as in stone but as he also says ''someone got their finger on the belly button''
..for me, I love how the guys just come across in interviews, no ego, no sermons, very, very economical with their words ..straight to the point and despite that they never went to university or collage, certainly sound like they been, probably explains why David Lynch and Trent Reznor found them so fascinating..
Excuse me, what has this to do with College,...... they went do a German school system. The school system in the German speaking areas are way different from the American, or what ever you are used to. Till reads a lot of books. You do not need an University, when you are interested in things. I was on the same level in history at the evening school as my teacher, only through reading a lot of books, magazines and watching good documentaries. Till is similar and that was just one subject in my case. Till speaks Spanish, French and English, because he learned out of interest. They had "only" Russian in school next to German. Sorry, but I cannot stand people, who judge others only by their "simple education". If you are interested, you can also talk to professors, without certain degrees, I know it from myself and some of them say, that I often outsmart some students!

I seem to have poked the bear and in ''collage'' I ment the American name for university and I certainly didnt mean the guys were uneducated, far from it, in fact or any German but the guys dont consider themselves intelluctals and considering the art they produce you could argue they are. it wasn't my intention to cause any offence, just its so refreshing in this modern era of super untalented celebrities and ''influencers'' to listen to real talented and super creative people
@@jezza117 Well, I just get "crises" always when I hear that, because also the German Main Stream media is often putting them down and calling them stupid, as well as the Rammsteinfans. I also have troubles with it, because my own parents always told me that, although I made my BA (hons) degree with 40 to prove them otherwise. Well, they are narc and alcoholic, what shells. To the guys, they are different, because first of all they do not grew up with social media sh.... (I was born 1980 and even I know the good days without that social media stuff) and second, because of it, they had not a selfish ego. Social media is good, when it is about things like those Reactions or so, but I also think that older once handle it better. Todays most have a breakdown, when they do not get their likes and whatever, because they are all driven by their selfish ego. Most of the time, I see this development as pure disaster, to be honest. AND what I can do, most can't at all. For all, when I know, that I am not working at a production (in the film-industry, we als have strange working hours,...) then I switch off my mobile the entire weekend. Close friends know it and they are fine with it and the others, sorry, it is my time and my life. 😉 But I know, that most are even unable to switch it off for 1 hour. They get crises, when the battery is low and they cannot charge it. Just "mind-blowing". There were already selfish once in the past, but they increased a lot in the last 20 - 30 years. That is, what I am seeing here, plus, we still read books and were watching good documentaries against todays "reality shows", which are also scripted by the way.
