Hello dear. Your mind went the right direction. It's about, what happens when a crew, consisting only of men, are together on a ship for a long time. Human needs don't stop. The song is full of so-called sailor language. With love from Germany 🤘🏻 ❤
The entire concert, this song (which is one of my all-time favorites), the performance of the band and especially Till's; the audience that completely becomes one with this performance and goes totally crazy, the "moderate stage setup" - all of this comes for my Taste very close to perfection! Not that I don't appreciate the bombastic Setup of the new performances or the Berlin concert in 1998 - but this, the song selection, the venue, I wish I had been there. MSG has a similar appeal to me.
I totally agree...this is Rammstein at their peek, for me anyway, later concerts are all epic and they gone on to even bigger stages and huge pyro effects, but this concert at Nimes in '05 is the 'one concert that rules them all' sorry, LOTR fans lol
That's my song every time I hop on a plane for a business trip to calm down my fear of flying. ....And at the end it leads uncut into the Song "Links, 2, 3, 4". Therefor this silly cut.
Hey Dude, this was my first Song that I have heard live in concert. That was in December 2004. The deep Sound of the Keyboards in the beginning gave me Hairs to stands on end. Rammstein today is not just a concert, that is more than that. Hello from Germany ;-)
At first my interpretation was a man going to war that maybe didn't want to go Someone who would rather go fishing and feed people instead of killing them ..then I heard someone say it refers to sex? So I went back and listened to the song again ...several times and well I'm a little slow 😆 lol...but I finally got it and I feel it has 3 different meanings 1 being at war not wanting to..being a pacifist 2 fisherman some killing fish with no regards of overfishing and destroying sea life. 3 sexual prefence and how making it known can get you killed
Hi D! You definitely need to make a reaction to Rammstein - Deutschland. With your thinking and "reading" the idea in the clips, this reaction would take about 30 minutes, i think. A very powerful clip in the amount of everything the band wanted to convey to the viewer.
@@ReactionsbyD I watched another reactor react to a different R+ video which only had German subs, but he used auto-translate, so perhaps you could try that?
Well, it can be what you think it is but it also can be about an analogy between fisherman and a navy sailor during the war time (you have this verse at the beginning: "one stabs the lance while in the army"). Btw, "Rise, rise" is a wake up call on ships of the German Navy :)
Your mind went into a strange place and met Till's. That was a top notch interpretation. But with Rammstein, multiple meanings are possible. Keep it up, man!
The "fish" normally means dick in their other songs like laichzeit etc. Here it is the first time when it means pussy. Its all about sexuality and how different everyone lives it out.
Rammstein's texts, which Till writes, are usually not easy to understand and are almost always ambiguous. Even as a German, I sometimes have to think about it and listen to some songs several times to form an opinion about them. Where's your Rammstein Cap? 🥰
LOL the CAP came AFER this one I believe.....if you see no CAP in recent Rammstein posted its because they came before is all - for now on (if I can remember lol) I will always have my Rammstein cap on for Rammstein and Till reactions :)
Maaan you are the first reactor that actually noticed that part about spear, man and fish... well, its not 100% that this song is about homosexuality but most people (at least on reddit lol) think it is.
moin,..reise reise wird/ wurde in der seefahrt , fischerei und marine vom kapitän , kaloy gesagt wenn die jagd auf den fisch bzw die jagd auf den feind beginnt. ich kenne das aus meiner marinezeit noch😊.
No, it is much easier. The song is about the weird behavour of men of leaving their family and going on a treasure hunt. That can be going to war or going to the sea. The real destiny of a real man. Or, let me express it positively, this is an anthem for the soldiers and fishermen. And perhaps the travelling salesman.
At the end of the First World War, the sinking of the German fleet in Scapa Flow took place, while the future of the ships was being negotiated and fearing that the ships would be distributed among the allied powers, Admiral Ludwig von Reuter decided to scuttle the fleet. The situation on the German ships during the internment was "a complete demoralization". Rise Rise is the call to the sailors of the German Navy and to all of Germany to rise again.
in the old days there were a lot of interesting bootlegs on UA-cam with unique concerts and tricks that you can’t find anywhere, but when Rammstein officially came to UA-cam they banned thousands of videos...
Anybody can take this in his way. For me, its fishermen vs. U boote servicemen : the first ones kill fish, the latter kill men. By the way, that's the roman arena in Nimes.
@@ReactionsbyD Reise, Reise has its origin in the Low German "rise, rise" which has the same meaning as "to rise" in English. You are right here. Don't let others tell you such nonsense.

Reise, Reise is the traditional wake-up call for sailors on ships. It has its origin in the Low German "rise, rise" which has the same meaning as "to rise" in English.
Quite possible. Till loves dwelling into older German. However, I fail to see the sexual meaning … Well, ok, maybe the sixth or seventh layer of meaning is also this one. After all, these are Tills lyrics.
You are one of the first reactors who got the double meaning of the song! Well done 👍
And as an American! Many Germans are not able to get that. I am an Austrian, living in Ireland, loving a German Band since 26 years.
leaving in IR. ok

You got one meaning of the song. Nice. Not a lot of people see this Intention of the song.
Another great reaction D, interesting subject matter of this song as well, once again, Rammstein doesn't disappoint.

Awesome! This song sounds so epic!! Thank you for another great reaction to another awesome live performance by Rammstein @Völkerball 😍

It's Till, it absolutely could be about sex 😂 Could be about whale hunt. Could be about war, and love, and life. That's poetry.
He always says that everyone should think for themselves.😂

10:50 - I'm happy that people finally understand this

and that's exactly why I love them, you can talk to 10 people who watched the same video and they can possibly give you 10 meanings for the lyrics lol
Yes my friend, always need to get lyrics with Rammstein and Till 😂

The song "Reise, Reise" by Rammstein is a metaphorical journey of survival, struggle and resilience.

For Till the sea always has a sexual meaning.
Ahoi is a signal word to call a ship or boat and comes from the German sailor's language.
Rammstein ❤🔝🔥
Thats Rammstein....IT could be everything....in my world...is IT Big seabattle
wow its the first time i see that intention in this song , and i know them since release. 4 Weeks for my 7th concert
It is not a stadium, it os an ancient Roman amphitheatre.

At least some comments tried to correct the translation. Apart from the arise it looks good.

not every rammstein song is about sex
but you can of course interpret it however you want.. thats the beauty of rammstein
