The similar eye color and color scheme really makes me think she might either be related to or eventually become Calabar. The dots on their head reminds me of the spots down Calabar's back... and that's not even mentioning the vision of Sumac rushing at them, or how Cypress looks a LOT like Goathead...
I noticed that the stepping stones also look a lot like Calabar's spots

Calabar in another universe
This has me so intrigued.
It seems like Eryx either becomes Calabar, or is her in a different life. She gains the same blind/white eye, and both the dots on her head and the stepping stones she walks across are reminiscent of the dots along Calabar's back.
And man, I'm so used to the cats being on space rocks that them being in a forest caught be off guard. It brings up so many questions - what actually is this dimension? Is it Earth or somewhere else? How are these dimension's connected? Are there any more out there? Does falling into the vortex lead you to whatever this place is?
I think the dimension in ode to epilogue is a land between life and death, like stated by Rhyolite. Then the current dimension in ode to prologue is a living world, a place with animals other than cats.
In other words, OTE takes place in Limbo, while OTP takes place on a planet like Earth (or is Earth).
I think falling into the vortex leads you to your next life, almost like waking from a dream. You fall from the rocks, slip into the vortex, and awaken as a kitten with no recollection of your past life. I wonder if it could lead you anywhere, or only to here.
The titles make it clear that OTP takes place before OTE, as a prologue gives hints to the story, always starting BEFORE or at the BEGINNING, while epilogues conclude the story, only happening at the END.
It's very likely that here, Eryx has looked into her future and seen flashes of what is to come of her. It may give us a glimpse as to why Calabar was so abusive and cruel to those around her. She didn't want to die, so she distrusted and hated everyone she saw in her visions, including Goathead (possibly Cypress) and her future kitten, Rhyolite. This DOES NOT excuse her abusive and violent actions, but it gives us a look at her thought process.
the first idea I had was that Eryxx was a reincarnation of Calibar or the other way around, but then I thought maybe they're seeing each other's lives through the same eyes, maybe the same person in two different worlds/timelines? Probably not but definately a cool idea! This pmv is gorgeous just like all the others and has yet again brought my interest to the lore! Amazing job!
Add on: The reason that lead me to think Eryxx and Calibar are the same person in two different worlds is the backgrounds, for Eryxx you use forests and solid landscapes like you would see on earth whilst with Calibar, their backgrounds contain floating islands/rocks/mountains within a space type void. So far I've seen you use the space/void setting for the ocs revolving around Foxglove, Ryholite and so on
Maybe being thrown into the vortex causes this to happen?
@@reaper_raina4099 I remember in one of their videos about these characters, Cinnamon and I think Rhyolite too had the ability to “speak” to other cats from “another world”. Not sure if I’m remembering correctly, but if I’m right you might be on to something there

Seeing this universe be expanded more and more with each video is so cool! I recognized Eryx as Calibar at first, although the designs are different, but after seeing a comment about them possibly reincarnating into Calibar I went to the wiki to see if that was true. And it sounds like it somewhat is(I dont recall if they reincarnate or not when they're killed on either side, or if they just appear).
I remember on the wiki it said that Rhyolite lied to Foxglove about that.
they do reincarnate! calibar and eryx are basically each other but in different universes, this is about eryx finding out about her other self, calibar does the same as well, but that might be in another video
I know everyone is talking about the reincarnation of the character, but I'm admiring the art style more and more.
Theory time!
Eryx is calabar! but reincarnated! She got a second chance to do things differently, she accepts, so she becomes eryx, she barely remembers anything from her old life, but goathead got that same chance, then they meet, not recognizing him, they talk and laugh, becoming friends quickly she does things differently, then she sees the portals, something told her to go to the portal, she looks into it, and sees visions of her past life, it was at this moment that she realized this reincarnation isn't a gift, it's a punishment
This theory is supported by the fact that she looks near identical to calabar, and cypress looks like goathead! and there are visions of sumac pouncing on her, visions of rhyolite as a kit, etc!either eryx is calabar reincarnated, or they're the same but In a different timeline!
I'd like to hear your theories! And thoughts on this theory!
I think your theory is nearly spot on, but the titles may cause some misunderstanding.
Epilogues come after while Prologues come before, which means that Eryx may have looked into her future, not her past. I think that maybe Eryx confides in Cypress in the future and tells him about what they saw, so when they are in the world between life and death, they know each other well, and they know what is to come, or they could have forgotten and only feel an emotional connection because of their bond from their previous life. Only the next few episodes will tell

So knowing what I've read about that Labyrinth, if a bunch of them followed the rocks, and got "lost" from each other, could they meet at the little vortex in the center?

I wonder if prologue and epilogue aren’t two separate times. But two worlds, existing parallel to each other. Eryx and Calbara are linked, as are Cypress and Goatweed…
We don’t exactly know what “sending to the other side” truly means… what if it’s literally bouncing between two universes. Both living?
