      VAL is indeed one of the foremost keyboard MASTERS of our time; but a piano cannot do justice to Richard Wagner's immortal Prelude-Love/Death From Tristan & Isolde, a portion of which Liszt paraphrased.
      I'd recommend, Juan, that you listen to the FULL ORCHESTRAL version of this music--it's so beautiful and so wonderful that it will shred your soul. It often brings tears to my eyes when I hear it. Do this, my friend. You'll not be disappointed.

    Sencillamente brillante. Nunca había escuchado (y llevo mas de 60 años haciéndolo) la versión al piano de la "Muerte de amor" de Wagner, de dificilísima interpretación no sólo por la técnica sino por la expresividad que requiere. Pero Valentina está mas allá de esos detalles y nos brinda unos minutos mágicos, irreales e inolvidables. Una delicia celestial para los oídos

    Unbelievable. I agree with another commentator below: he would not believe that Horrowitz's interpretation could be topped. But this one in marvellous, in all beautiful extremes. And because it lasts 1 minute longer, it is 1 minute more pleasure. Fantastic!

    Every time I think to this piece, the only words I can use is depletion, exhaustion, the burn out of a soul: at 6:14 the violent blaze, at 7:40 the dissolution of the last gleams. Ms. Lisitsa your picture reminded me "Nature" a picture of the painter Léon Frédéric.

    • @ChristianSaveAmerica
      @ChristianSaveAmerica 8 років тому

      ValentinaLisitsa
      The thumb probably is the most important finger in playing. It's interesting to see how everyone's hand react s so differently while playing. I notice students that are double jointed have the hardest time striking the notes evenly. I had one student years ago that could not even play the notes at all because of this. Lots of fumbling.
