There are so many singers and not performers. There are so many performers and not singers. Then there is Gary Numan who is both a singer and a performer. Love his talent and music. Huge fan since the late 70's. Yes, I'm 52 yrs old and love this music.

I know right! The original version was a bit hard to digest, but over the years, his voice has improved, and the song has been down mixed to perfection for the live performances.

Yes! I met him@ Vintage Vinyl in NJ (*1st time & concert was NYC..I was 15+got an autograph*) for performance & 'Splinter' signing; I was still starstruck..he couldn't be any sweeter to everyone + saw his show in NYC just recently... outstanding !!!

Its great to see a singer that still looks like they did years ago.. Even still sounds the same. Others have not aged as well. New music still echos his original sound and style, but it sounds fresh.
Saw him in Boston recently...... I've been going to live shows for 20 + years...... THIS was the BEST so far.....

I disagree. The tracks don't sound at all alike
The chord progression you find similar was actually in Gary Numan's music before Chris Isaak. It was in the song "Music for Chameleons" from Gary's 1982 album "I, Assassin". That predates "Wicked Game" by 7 years. Gary brought it out to play again for "A Prayer for the Unborn" in his 2000 album release "Pure". When I first heard Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game", I felt he must have heard Numan's track and thought, "Hey, I could do an entire song out of just that progression! That would be cool!" I'm not complaining, I love the sound. But... yeah, Gary did it first.
