  • Howard Stableford shows us what happens when two well known car companies merge and produced a car, which in this case is the instant classic - the Chrysler Crossfire. Plus Wolfgang Bernhard how they came up with the decision to go ahead with the production version of the concept.

    One of the best bargains and greatest rides you can get for the cost. I paid $13K in 2011 for a 2005 coupe with 49K that was never winter driven, all with Mercedes build, fit and finish, parts readily available from Mercedes and still turns heads wherever it goes.If you done't want to stand out, don't buy this car as you are a visible and magnet for everyone who sees it. Never had so much attention with any other car I have owned (35)

    The concept Crossfire, with it's great front end and split windshield was supremely cool. Too bad they watered it down for production. The production version was cool, but not supremely cool. Why did they do that?

    this is a very fun car to drive. I have a convertable. non supercharged limited. i think its true the power numbers were underquoted. it may be that its light, and very balanced. all the way fun car. cruised 120mph on a nice nighway not to long ago. miles and miles.

    I don't care for the split windshield up front, so I'm glad that was changed... If you see one out on the street, it's still cool! I wish the body was bigger, to a more midsize car size, wrather than small car body, though. That's my only complaint. I'd still get one☺

      That split windshield is actually just a windshield wiper. Clever setup as I thought it was a permanent split

    • @nicholasmaher9175
      @nicholasmaher9175 6 років тому

      All Crossfires have a 3.2L Mercedes V6, the SRT version had the AMG supercharged version of the engine with about 340hp.

    • @nicholasmaher9175
      @nicholasmaher9175 5 років тому

      @paul austin No. No such engine exists much less in a Crossfire. Only the 2 versions of the same engine as I note above were used in Crossfires.

      @paul austin You may say you do but you don't because what you say is not factual. Feel free to back up your claim with even the slimmest shred of proof, we'll wait.

      I have an 06 and I have no rust issues. I'm at about 106k miles and the only issue I've had was the ignition locked up on me. Spent about 400$ to get it fixed. Great car, definitely turns heads especially when it's detailed

      @paul austin blaknite1 is a typical Crossfire hater. Never driven one and watches a show hosted by the ugliest hosts on TV. The Crossfire is not a perfect car and could have been better if they had taken more time to smooth out the rough edges. I love my SRT6 and if possible I will never sell it.
