I woke up stressed this morning and this was exactly what I needed! I always find your voice so grounding, but this video especially has that vibe of just completely going into one's senses and experiencing the material world in a playful and patient way. Wonderful! Thank you Hannah

Interesting! I love seeing how you chose those. It made me realize that I do the same kind of thing sort of unconsciously. I choose things that I want to pan, I choose things that I haven't use enough to get an opinion on, and I like to make sure I rotate through my makeup so that nothing is left unused for a long time. I'm my own beauty guru! LOL

last fall i subscribed to your channel, and i remember every morning that i had to commute to campus for an insanely early class, i could watch your newest video on the train. today i had to pull an allnighter for a class, and having a new video come out when I'm almost done definitely gave me some joy and motivation in the home stretch.

I love this style, with the view of each section as you pick things out of their homes and reason with them for the moment. I would absolutely enjoy watching you do this monthly or however often you feel like it. Also that last glitter reminded me of the Gargoyle shade from Clionadh (one of the two I picked out).

I loved the very thorough explanations, as well as the visual tour, you shared today! Just perusing the comments and I find it fascinating how so many of us check daily to see if you’ve posted a video. I rarely watch every single video a creator makes but I never miss one of your uploads. I think that’s quite a testament so many others share my sentiment ☺️

There have been some amazing HLP shop-my-stashes past, but I think this one might be my favourite yet because of how much closer it is to my own makeup preferences than usual I've been really enjoying all your lewks lately, and am looking forward to seeing you lean into the directions in which these particular items take you.
On a completely separate note, I've been gaining so much from Tara Brach's wonderful UA-cam talks and guided meditations in recent weeks, and wanted to thank you for turning me onto her work through your long-ago mentions of her shorter guided meditations. She combines her background in psychology with Buddhist meditation in ways that I find especially helpful (I grew up around Tibetan Buddhism, but have struggled as an adult to maintain a regular meditation practice).

I save small tubes from sample size moisturizer or corrector pots for the purpose of housing samples. Like I got a sample of the Laura mercier powders and put them an old nyx corrector that was too orange for me. Just a few, not everyone but it comes in handy, especially when we are allowed to travel it's a great way to take products with us without worrying if you leave the little tub behind.

You mentioned the brow product empty, and how you're eventually going to procure more soap. We have different brow desires, but have you tried the elf shape & stay wax pencil? It seems "soap brow" makeup kits (like those made by patrick ta/iconic london/makeup revolution) but in the form of a $2.00, thick retractable pencil. I haven't tried it yet, but I might add it to my next ulta order. Reading about it made me think of you.

Roen 11:11 and Sunrise is a classic kind of Courtney combo. I would just add in the PML palette from your purgatory box. And I really do like the bottom left matte for deepening without smoke. (to be fair, I have deep set, rather than hooded eyes, but its a similar kind of manipulate the shape challenge. I love the constraint of shopping my stash for shadow.

Thanks for sharing a peek inside the collection. I hate that you don’t like the pillow talk highlight/blusher and am grateful for your insight. Based on your experience I ordered the Pinkgasm color way and LOVE it so far. It is true rose instead of the silvery pink shown on the swatches and it looks lovely blended with the regular spotlight without making me look like a “dolly”. The pinkgasm shade is pink, but there’s more to it; it has some depth and sophistication.

Do you think the JD glow highlighters are truly a powder? I got one a long time ago (like two years) and it was more like a super shock or putty to me than a powder, even though that's what they called it. Are they different now?

How long did that major brow last you in the end? It has to be less than 6 months right? Does that change your thoughts on if it’s worth it too you? I mean it’s great you got your money’s worth by using it up if nothing else!!!

    • @HannahLouisePoston

Hannah Louise Poston I’ve been using the elf brow wow (?). It’s more hold than benefit or boy brow, but not all the way to ABH. I found it worth the $3.00 risk.

Amy Dement I completely agree!! I never find brow gels give me what I need (either too wet or too crunchy) but the elf formula is perfect! I can even take the glob on the end and mush it into the bald spots where the pencil won’t stick (idk if that’s weird 😆)

Hi Hannah, food for thought! I came across a cheek product you may enjoy testing, (although the applicator may not be your favourite) but the NIOD Photography fluid 8% is one of my favourite glowy cheek products! It's super sheer, sheen-y and more neutral toned, so on me it looks like I've caught the sun in all the right ways! (I'm about your skin tone, possibly a HAIR darker). Thank you for the video, I look forward to your review of CT's pillow talk medium! x

Hello, My Love, So I have tried many brow gels but nothing seems to keep my brow hairs up how I want them either. Give a spoolie a quick spritz with your everyday hair spray. See how that worms for you, as that seems to be the only tide and true way I have achieved my desired results of keeping my brow hairs up. Guess you could call it a "brow hack" ...for me it's just normal everyday "save some coin" hacks by multitasking my products. Lol :-) XOXO - Amber

Can I point something out about a phrase you use a lot? I’m only saying this because I know you’re someone who is very into their vocabulary and speaks so well. I notice that you often say “rapid rate of speed” - this actually doesn’t make sense. Rate is the change in speed over time, so you can’t have a rate of speed - you can have a rapid rate, or a high speed, but not a rapid rate of speed. Just a petty tip from your friendly neighbourhood nitpicker 😁

I remember noticing this from the first time I heard Hannah say it! I consider it an HLP quirk now :) I'm weirdly relieved to find I'm not the only pedant who thinks about this, and I appreciate the way in which you phrased your comment. Friendly nitpickers 4eva!

"Rate is the change in speed over time" - is that definition related to physics? In finance we use the term rate as a measure of something like for instance a loan interest rate or currency exchange rate.
