Princess Shireen: "Ser Davos, Ser Davos, you're in this UA-cam video. They say you were a famous smuggler."
Ser Davos Seaworth: "If you're a famous smuggler, you're doing something wrong."
If he were not know how would pirates and criminals employed him lol
Han solo
Then Davos did something wrong as he was very famous soending time in many dungeons and known by all lol
My Lord Bloodraven. He's my favorite character
Lmao
"Arthur Dayne was Rhaegar's closest friend" *Jon Connington crying in the distance*
fuckin nerd
Exactly my thoughts
@@umarsaud9269 What else did you expect in the comments section of a Game of Thrones video?
@@umarsaud9269 How is he a nerd again?
@@umarsaud9269 WAAAWW Nerds watching Nerdy content what a suprise you clown😂😂
He may not be a person, but one of my favorites has always been Balerion “The Black Dread”.
danger5oh the name so badass
Such a badass name fitting for a badass dragon that's for sure
danger5oh or Meleys “The Red Queen”
Bloodwyrm
Or Vermithor the Bronze Fury.
Beric Dondarrion by far has the coolest nicknames
The lightning lord
The scarecrow knight
The Lord of Corpses
there can be only one Dondarrion lord at the time
Samatar Ahmed The best nickname is still Beric the Barricade
I think a Tormund may take over after he gets his final nickname.
he also has one of the coolest names in the books
Agreed!
I really like Sandor Clegane’s nickname “The Hound” it’s simple but has an intimidating ring to it
I like the books "the mountain that rides", and his entire description that goes with it. I enjoyed hafthor bjornsson's portrail of him but to be honest, the mountain is a lot bigger and meaner in the books.
You also get all the information you need from it
@@chrisalmere20 well, there isn’t a 8 foot man who isn’t a twig
Jesus, rags a secret targ. There are two universal truths about game of thrones theories.
1: Everyone is secretly Quaith
2: everyone is a freaking secret Targaryen
You wanna know sumpin' Quaiths a Targaryen but sshhh you didn't get that from me
*disappears in the shadows*
You wanna know sumpin' Quaiths a Targaryen but sshhh you didn't get that from me

Quaith is Elissa Farman. Look it up.
ClassicAdden nah sir she's shivers seastar
@@momki4024 Quaith is actually the Chubby Baker.
The Titan's Bastard, The Dragonknight,
the Rouge Prince, Sea Snake,
The Black Dragon, Bittersteel, Bloodraven & Darkstar
I totally forgot about
the Knight of the Pussywillows
The Titan's bastard is the coolest i ever heard
Sea Snake for me. He's awesome, the fact he sailed all the way to Asshai is cool, not to mention he made his family the richest in the Seven Kingdoms, and he spent that money building his family a new castle, and built a large amount of ships so that his family could still earn a ton of money and still be filthy rich.
JORAH THE EXPLORER?
😂😂😂😂
This comment is year old?? Now that I think of it, I DO remember something about you winning the internet that day...
Ser Jorah Mormont of friendzone island
Super daario brothers
@Space Gandalf damn I thought of that too 😂😂😂
The line "Beneath the gold, the bitter steel." sounds so badass.
Ned Stark: returns the Dayne’s ancestral sword
Tywin Lannister: (finds Ice) it would be a shame not to make 2 crappy swords out of this magnificent sword
What was it called again- olenna
Widows wail (cringing)- Jamie
He really was a cunt- olenna
One of the best scenes in the series
Crappy!! Are you kidding have you note read the description of them in the books!!
@@napolien1310 I'm just liked Ice a lot more.
Not like the Lannister will ever gain a Valyrian Sword again. Brightroar is missing, Widow’s Wail will probably go missing or be given to another person, and Oathkeeper will probably be Tarth’s ancestral sword in the future.
While the Starks probably will keep Longclaw.
In conclusion, Lannister gain nothing while the Starks got a more easier sword to handle
@@cars81434 wasn't ice more of a ceremonial sword to execute traitors of the nights watch?
Beneath the gold, *the BITTERSTEEL*
That's one badass motto
Yes almost forgot about bittersteel
Never read the books but after this line, I'll be done reading them by the end of next month
Ya man thats probably the most badass motto
*So metal.*
I've always been a sucker for King Daemon 'the Black Dragon' of House Blackfyre. It just sounds so completely badass. 'The Smiling Knight' is awesome as well. And 'the Hungry Wolf'. And 'Savage Sam' Tarly. And 'the Rogue Prince'. I love George's nicknames.
Damn good choices!
Baelor Breakspear and his Bro the Hammer and Anvil?
Jaden M. THE KING WHO BORE THE SWORD!!
Blood and Cheese
I support the Blacfyres too tbh
What about King Tristifer IV "The Hammer of Justice" the famed Mudd who fought 100 battles against the andal invaders, winning 99 and losing the final one when he was attacked by 7 andal kings all at once?
Justin Geisert He has the best nickname without a doubt.
Justin Geisert damn
What about BLOODRAVEN ? The RED KRAKEN ?
Bloodraven is Brynden Rivers/ the 3 eyed raven
Isn't the Red Kraken Dalton Greyjoy
@@daniellockett5276 yes
"He avenged the Red Wedding, he is the WHITE WOLF, the King in the NORTH" by itself White Wolf might not be the best nickname but it definitely has the best introduction/use.
Lord Clarke I believe this is based on the books... Jon’s know as: Turncloak, Lord Snow, Lord Crow, The Black Bastard on the Wall, and my favourite, Ser Aliser’s Bane
he didnt avenge anything and lost the battle
@@godemperorofmankind3.091 🤔 did he not capture Winterfell and beat Ramsay Bolton in single combat?
@@King_Mac80 beating ramsay? hes not fucking Gregor. he's decent but only about pre torture Theon levels.
capture winterfell was done 99% by a giant and the vale. everyone else may as well have not shown up at all
But he didn't want it 🤣
Varys: "might I sit?"
Olenna: "No"
Darkstar is so emo and edgy.
He cut myrcella's ear. Wtf
@@rendrarifaldi3469 maybe it was Rosamund?
@@rendrarifaldi3469 not confirmed
I laughed
Saqlain Alvi how you know
Even though he never was born, ''The Stallion Who Mounts the World'' is pretty effin' ominous.
The Sword of the Morning is probably my favorite one (that springs to mind, anyway), even though it's not a true nick.
I always kind of applied it to Drogon even though he was never actually called such. If the show actually had good writers Dany would have dubbed him as such after his destroyed king's landing for her. But you know, if they show had good writers we wouldn't have gotten nazi Dany to begin with.
@@willigagbob8243 It fits Drogon, eh?
My ENTIRE problem with Nazi Dany, as you call her, is that she changed completely over a 10-seconds span. If her switch was more drawn out, and done better, it would have been okay. But they ruined the show and her character in that 10 seconds of bell ringing.
@@Quazi-moto Only after destroying King's Landing, which he absolutely wrecked and didn't have his brothers there to help. I agree with you on Dany too.
@@Quazi-moto and why wouldn't Sword of the Morning not count as a true nickname? It's not a title, he's a knight so his title would be Ser.
@@willigagbob8243 "and why wouldn't Sword of the Morning not count as a true nickname?"
I said that because he isn't the first/only Sword of the Morning, he was the 3rd. It IS a title given to the one in House Dayne deemed worthy of carrying Dawn, their family's greatsword. It's not an official title, of course.
But his not being the only one called by that name is the reason I said it's not a true nickname. It is technically, but it doesn't pinpoint a single person, which is what nicks are for.
“The Mountain that Rides” is one of the coolest nicknames of all time!!! All time!!
The word's of the golden company are "Our word as is as good as gold" and their battle cry is "Beneath the gold the Bittersteel." But I really did love this list and I got excited that you talked about the tattered prince, as I have seen no one else talk about him. Could you make a video talking about all the sellsword companies out there? I know that I have an idea of all the companies but more backstory would be awesome. Totally would love to hear about bloodbeard and Harry Strickland and such.
The Dragon
The White Wolf
Bloodraven
Bittersteel
The Onion Knight
Stormborn
The Queen of Thrones
The Old Lion/The Great Lion of the Rock
Giantbane
The Red Viper
The Red Kraken
The Hungry Wolf
The Blackfish
The Kingslayer
The Sword of the Morning
Darkstar
there are so many badass nicknames in Asoaif
uh... The Hound.... and The Mountain that rides???
Brandon of "The Bloody" Blade? I mean as long as we are including "world books"
Little finger
The young wolf has a better ring to it than the white wolf. But neither should be considered among the best.
the falcon knight
As simple as it is I love the nickname "the tall" for ser Duncan after reading a knight of the seven kingdoms it really sticks with me. Never forget Dunk the Lunk thick as a castle wall.
Bloodraven is a pretty sick name as well.
It’s kind of symbolic that one of the greatest knights ever was possibly not even a knight. Also that his nickname isn’t the “Sword of the Morning,” or “Kingslayer,” the “White Bull,” or “The Bold.”
It’s just Ser Duncan “the Tall,” or “Dunk.” That just speaks of humility and low beginnings.
#8 Sword of the morning = morning wood
alekws alekws most underrated comment I ever read
alekws alekws not really a nickname it's more of a title
"Laughing Storm" is my favourite nickname from Asoiaf.
Lyonel baratheon🙏
Breakspear
Rogue Prince
Realm's Delight / Half-Year Queen
The Leech Lord
Bloodraven
The Smiling Knight
The Knight of the Laughing Tree
The Young Dragon
The Black
Fireball
Bennis of the Brown Shield
The Red Widow
The Fiddler
Lord Beric Dondarrion, the Lightning Lord
Martyrs they almost all only appear in the hedge Knight series :)
Valar Morghulis half of it, yeah. I just finished it a couple days ago. Wish there were more
Martyrs yeah me too the next book will be released in 2019 I think
"may I sit?" - No
I love the queen of thorns
Bronze Yohn (Royce) ?
He's got bloody runes on his armor!!
is that a nickname? I just allways assumed the Bronze Yohn was a first name as Royce is the name of a house in the vale
Jaydn Jones No? His name is just Yohn Royce.
Lol imagine a meeting with Bitter steel and Stannis
Brooding match
Maximum frown
Robert Baratheon, "The Demon of the Trident"
Robb Stark, "The Young Wolf"
But don't forget: Stannis "The Mannis" Baratheon!
Needs a part two ASAP
Ser Arthur Dayne the sword of the morning was a beast I love him he just gets me
"Cunt." is the best nickname both in Westeros and Essos
Pirates wear patches to have an eye ready in a raid to enter dark cabins onboard an enemy ship.
Good to know, thanks 👋
I like "Apple Eatter" I forget the knights name, it's mentioned in Sansa's last chapter in COK. Basically he killed two Foseways, one green apple and one red apple Foseway and captured another red apple Foseway during the Battle of Blackwater Bay
Lothor Brune
Please make Part 2,
The Hound, The Mountain, Littlefinger, Jaime The Kingslayer, Barristan the Bold, Harry the Heir, Dolorous Edd and many more are asking that of you :D
Lord Bloodraven "The King Who Knelt" Torrhen Stark, somehow has always been my favourite. His nickname suggests weakness but in truth, it requires immense bravery to kneel to a foreign invader for the sake of his own people. Jon's current predicament reminds me of him too. Hope this makes part 2 as well.
Lord Bloodraven The Wandering Wolf too
Tormund Giantsbane
@ Jared Hayward -- Tormund probably has as many nicks as Dany. He's aka Tall-talker, Horn-blower, Breaker of Ice, Husband to Bears, Mead-King of Ruddy Hall, Speaker to Gods and Father of Hosts.
quazzie1 I know that but he is best known as Tormund Giantsbane
Great video man. Impressive visual editing that makes you stand out from so many other channels. But where's Bloodraven???
If Davos is the most famous smuggler, then he's not the best
True
Yeah
The Red Kraken, Aerion Brightflame, Argilac the Arrogant just become it rolls off the tongue nice
Solid list. Bittersteel is a fav of mine, not just the coolest name but the coolest coat of arms imo.
A few other favs:
Leech Lord
Bloodraven
The Black Dragon
What do you think of my list?
Hodor
whycreate liked the list maybe we can hook up and make a list together ;)
game of thrones has many stories that most people might not know.
whycreate what about Brienne's nickname? Brienne the Beauty. She got called that as a mockery to her apparently, unattractive features, after she refused the attentions of men, who made a wager on who could bed her, and take her maidenhead, in Renly's camp. She was told the truth by Lord Randyll Tarly, who put a stop to the wager. But he placed the blame on Brienne, because he believed that she shouldn't be there, as she's a woman, and that her being there was putting temptation in the way of the "proper knights". Brienne then took down all the men who'd put a wager on her, in the melee in which she defeated Loras Tyrell, and won, asking to become a member of Renly's kingsguard. After that, she always got called Brienne the Beauty by men, who mocked her for being a better, stronger fighter than they were. 😁
whycreate i think you should try to learn how to speak properly
Bloodraven
Stormborn
Dragonkignt
Sand Snakes
Kingslayer
The leech lord
And a lot of others...
They are all great!!
George is a genius!!!
great list!!! my fav character is jaime so kingslayer is my fav nickname
the scene in the bath really shows how he is remembered by his nickname that brienne doesnt even bother to use his real one
Ummm, where's Kingslayer?
Kingslayer and The Young Wolf should be on there
ddamazona not really a nickname it's just what Kingslayers are called
let him be Goldenhand now
The funniest thing about that is that in any other circumstance the title would be a complement!! If Jaime had any other function than Kings Guard, he would be considered awesome for slaying a King!!! Talk about irony!!
@@talitafranco7230 that's actually false, unless the cause is of an incredible holiness, with history rewritten and loyalists executed killing a king is always a source of scorn, fear and awe perhaps but still primarily scorn, a king was considered holy and great for commoners and the source of stability and income for nobles no matter how bad he was, kingslayers were rarely applauded, of course there are a lot of exceptions, specifically: executions, by being executed you give a legitimate value to his elimination, riots, when riots happened chaos begins, killed by another king in a duel or similar, since they are of the same rank it doesn't count. Etc. Note that i am mostly talking about kings in the feudal times in Europe specially.
The red viper is the best nickname ever!!!!
This was a great and informative video. Despairing over the long wait for new show content/in preparation of Winds of Winter, I just dropped $40 in a 5 Book deal on Amazon for the five available books (I've read 2-3 from the library), and you've got me excited to finally get some good Dornish stuff. Had no idea the Dayne's family hailed from there.
The Sword of the Morning is my favourite
Yep, has such a nice ring to it.
Knight of the Laughing Tree?
Brynden Rivers had also the nickname Bloodraven before eventually becoming the Three Eyed Raven. It's a really cool nickname and I think you should have included it. Also the "a thousand eyes and one" is a great common saying that shows how much of a reputation he had
what was that ending.
"thanks for watching. Bleh"
dejlislive lmfao
What about the HOUUUUUUND!!
the Hound and Mountain are a little plain
whycreate true but it's the HOuuuund
he is called the hound because ho followed the lannister's every order like a dog
How is "The Mountain that Rides" plain
& because his families sigil is 3 hounds
Excellent content
I didn't notice you stutter. The list is great. There so many great nicknames in grrm books!
Onion Knight "if youre a famous smuggler then, youre not doing it right"
Great video!
Who dislikes these videos and why? I'm never disappointed with his videos and always what I expected. Never read the books so these videos are gold!
I love this channel
You included Bitter Steel, but not Blood Raven?!?
Melissa Wilson bittersteel is far better though
@@hozman5700 blood raven is immortal and husband of Shiera Seastar
And Bittersteel is better
Also >husband lmao
I really like this one. Thanks. With the exception of Euron Greyjoy, the casting of this show was superb.
The actor was not at fault for the shitty writing, he did what he could and he still stealed every scene he was even tho they all sucked
I always find Lothor 'Apple-Eater' Brune to be a dope nickname. It comes from the Battle of Blackwater Bay, where Brune captured one member of House Fossoway and killed two more. Fossoway sigil is an apple (red for one family bunch, green for the other), hence the Apple-Eater.
I've looked through around 1/4 of the comments and still haven't seen it;
Littlefinger
Did most commenters just overthink?
The dragonknight anyone
Wasn't that a title?
so the tattered prince is now one of my favorite characters thats such a cool cape
Your videos re amazing bro. Word Up#Kenya
Roberts Nickname "The Demon of the Trident" is definitely worthy of this list
The Kingslayer is probably the most iconic nickname in ASOIAF.
make another list like this :D
"A similarly great character in my favourite game dark souls" you gained a subscriber for that.
I am very late to the party, but some nicknames you didnt mention that I am fond of are:

I´ve always loved the nicknames of the "The Young Wolf", The Titan`s Bastard and the White Bull
"Hey Gerry! How are you--"
"I'm DARKSTAR. I AM OF THE NIGHT."
"Haha, classic Gerry."
I've always been partial to Dagmar Cleftjaw and The Mountain That Rides. Meagor The Monstrous is pretty sick too.
Maelys?
“The Sword of the Morning”. Ser Arthur Dayne has the best nickname/title and is the most hype character to not be fully flushed out
10:42 No, the motto of the Golden Company is "Our word is as good as gold", "Beneath the gold, the bitter steel" is their warcry iirc.

Break bones was Harwin Strong. Mushroom called him Broken Bones he got fucked up by Criston Cole.
The Laughing Storm
I really like Aerion Targeryen's nickname Brightflame... I think it describes him quite well, when I read the Hedge knight he seemed very impulsive and with short temper getting angry very easily. That somehow reminds me of a wild fire which is had to stop and which is full of huge and bright flames. On top of that although Aerion is super mad he's my favourite Targeryen (it's kinda weird, I know but in general I tend to like the psychotic characters of films, books or series)
What about the eater of chickens
Personal favourite: Lyonel “the Laughing Storm” Baratheon
Theon “the Hungry Wolf” Stark
Dagon “the Last Reaver” Greyjoy
Dagon “the Necromancer” Drumm
Dalton “the Red Kraken” Greyjoy
Brandon “the Breaker” Stark
Arlan “the Avenger” Durrandon
Andrik the Unsmiling
Baelor “Breakspear” Targaryen

‘The sword of the morning’ *goosebumps*
I'd say the mountain (that rides) is by far the best nickname.
Favourite has always been the Knight of the Laughing Tree
Love ur vids

This vid has no dislikes
Fking great
wooooo
The Laughing Prince and the Tattered Prince are two of my favorite characters!
This video could have been four times as long. There are so many great nicknames in the series. I’m partial to “Biter” myself
Sir Davos the onion knight, the man,the myth, the legand
Darkstar! My bro!
"Kingslayer" sounded so cool when Blackfish says it
"What happens when the nonexistent bumps against the decrepit"
Favorite line from The Queen of Thorns
I always though that the name "Crow's Eye" had something to do with Euron being a pirate, due to the fact that the uppermost part of the ship is called a Crow's Nest. I feel like the eyepatch was fairly obvious now
Ik its about fantasy stuffs, not rl..... But every time I hear abt Ser Arthur Dayne I get goosebumps 😂😍
I am nicknaming all my heroes in my current Total War Campaign after these people
The Spider should be on the list. Besides, we all know the best title/nickname goes to "Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regent of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons”
Blackfish shooting that arrow was a badass scene
Durran GODSGRIEF though..
“The Laughing Storm” goes crazy.
I missed:
Kingslayer
Old Bear
Young Wolf
White Wolf
Mad King
The Hound
The Moutain
Littlefinger
The Spider
Bastard of Gods Grace
Black Dread
And most of all: Cold Hands
And sand snakes
Tywin being called "Warden of the West" sounds really good too
Love your videos but The Sword of the Morning is #1 and my favorite character. What about The Red Kraken, Maelys the Monsterous, n the Smiling Knight. I forgot another favorite character The Rogue Prince Daemon
When discussing Bittersteel, it seemed like his rival is intentionally being referred to as "Brynden Rivers" to distract from the fact "Bloodraven" is not on the list.
Darkstar is basically just a version of Blackfish - both are just the reverse color versions of something in their families' sigil. It just so happens that many people think a star seems cooler than a fish. If you think The Red Viper is a better, more fitting nickname than Blackfish, it should also be better than Darkstar. That's just something an emo, rebellious teen would call himself.
