Welcome back for another Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire update video. In this video, I will be talking about all of the different Game of Thrones Prequel and Sequel shows that are being developed at HBO. As you all know, HBO has been developing a number of new shows based on George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire saga. After the massive success of Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon; HBO is now developing roughly five new shows centered around other historical events in Westerosi history. They are currently working on a Jon Snow Sequel Series, based on the life and adventures of Jon Snow, after the events of Game of Thrones' Season 8 finale. They are also working on another Game of Thrones Prequel Series, with the working title, Nine Voyages, or the Sea Snake, based on the life and adventures of Lord Corlys Velaryon. Another Prequel Series in development at HBO is The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, based on George R.R. Martin's Dunk & Egg Novellas. These are only a few of the shows HBO is currently working on. @@Alejojojo6 nah mate. People will have the connection with the young versions of all the legendary characters plus some. They could go all the way back to when tywin was hand. Would be class.
I would still love it if they made a show that covered the Doom of Valyria. Seeing the height of their society and all those dragonlords... Watching as it all burns. I think it would be beautiful and tragic. Live action would be too expensive, but an animated show could make all those dragons.

I hope they do it as an animated show. I think that's the only way to do it right. It is much cheaper than live action so they could go all out on the dragons and fire and everyrhing else.
I’m down with “Snow” as long as they brought back the White Walkers and Daenerys. And make Jon Realize that he must take the throne to save the Kingdoms (the PROPHECY).

You know very well it's never gonna happens. So stop being in denial about Season 8.
I personally never liked the night king or any of that. It feels misplaced, almost lazy writing. Everything as far as storytelling goes, feels correct , but the white walkers, who just look like zombies to me, feels out of place. I felt a better, more believable enemy, could have been created. Something equally unreal, but not undead zombies. The faceless men would make the best in the show because of all the different aspects of what they could accomplish. It’s already in the story, and doesn’t feel out of time. I’ll probably get banned for going against GRRM. But, that’s just my opinion. ✌️ & ❤️

They really need at least 2 series so they can run every other year so they don't have to rush as production gets harder to do in one year.

I want that Jon Snow show and I want Jon to acknowledge and lean into his Targaryen identity more. He is the last Targaryen, the last memory of old Valyria. If they dont bring Dany back. Either way I want him to be more than "Shes my queen" and "I dont want it"

If Snow Show doesn’t explain wtf was going on with the Night King I will riot. I need character motivations, detailed magic power sets and extended Children of the Forest flashbacks MINIMUM.

GRRM needs to finish the books that’s what I’m most interested in. I really like to see how GRRM ties everything together in the books which is by far more complex than GOT. If people haven’t read the books they need to & if you don’t think you could read that many pages the audiobooks are the way to go
I agree. How can the show carry on with Jon when as far as the books go he's still dead. I'm beginning to wonder if Martin has any intention of finishing the series. And Lady Stoneheart, who never exists in the show, hung Brien and Podrick after being saved by Berrics last life.
@@benjaminreagle460 Brien is still alive cause she goes to Jamie & gets him to follow her most likely to Stonehart but not sure if Podrick is alive. I’m hoping he will release the books before the Snow series cause maybe somehow they can tie in some of the ending of the books with the show 🤷🏻♂️

umm it has been 20 or more years since his last book.. He is 3 quarters finished with winds of winter- so we will see the book in about 6 years.

I mean, its got everything great about GoT. Power struggle, political scheming, marriages for alliances, 2 battles, and the ascension of Tywin Lannister. Lots of room to expand on in terms of characters and people involved. Can you imagine the tragedy of focusing on the growth of a couple characters in the Rayne family just to see the end?

I hope Snow will feature the mythical White (Night) Queen as the villain; out to avenge. A good opening scene would be at the end of Winterfell battle and the pyres burning the camera pans to a lone figure on a hill; zooms in to a beautiful cold white female with Crystal Blue Eyes, emotionless then anger as the figure turns her undead spider and disappears in a swirl of cold mist.

@@xancypillosi9497 The Blackfyre Rebellion is probably going to be covered in House of the Dragon. Robert's rebellion could too, but in my opinion the only way to do that conflict is through flashbacks in a Game of Thrones remake. The restoration of Jaehaerys II was one of demands George RR Martin made for HotD. That's pretty much a confirmation that HotD is going to cover other eras in the future.

I would love to see them bring Arya back and either her own show or bring her into Snow. Would love to see her adventures and more of what she can really do with everything she learned from the faceless man and her skills she learned from Syrio and then went on to master. Love her character!

It’d be cool to see everyone who’s still alive return in Snow! Maybe it could open with Jon receiving word that there’s been a rebellion in kings landing where Bran has been killed and the throne sits empty. Jon & Tormund return to kings landing & everyone comes back! Tyrion, Sam, Brienn, Bron, Arya, Sansa, and anyone else I’m missing. Basically a season 9 of GOT. That’d be epic!

It seems like HBO is cautious to do prequels and sequels because they're afraid they won't do well. Little do they know the GOT universe can be just as big if not bigger than Marvel & DC. They could literally release a new series every year. That would eliminate us waiting 2-3 years for new episodes & going through withdrawals like I'm currently dealing with LOL!
I would live to see a Roberts Rebellion limited series. If the Snow show happens I do hope that is also limited and doesn't try to be another season of GoT but rather its own thing. Also Nymiria should be epic.

@@Mwezi828 it could honestly be like 3-4 seasons, I personally think it could also be good if they done it following HoTD, what I mean is HoTD isn’t just about the dance of the dragons, it’s about the Targaryen’s dynasty, so after dance of the dragons it could
be about the blackfyre rebellion which was caused by Rhaenyra’s grandson legitimising his bastards, there’s alot of characters in this timeline that are detailed enough for a tv show, in total there are 4 rebellions I think and the final rebellion was ended when Barristan Selmy killed the final blackfyre rebel in battle, in this war all of Westeros came together and relationships were built that had an impact in Roberts rebellion, thus linking it all together
Just watch with the “Snow” show, Drogon takes Danaerys to Ashai and she’s reanimated by one of the Necromancers or Shadow Binders and Dany finds more dragons in the mountains of Ashai, Greyworm and the Unsullied and the Dothraki who went to Naath have all died because the butterflies there kill all non-native Naathians, a new Night King is created by Bran time traveling into the past and screwing something up again like he did with Hodor, Arya arrives on the East coast of Ulthos and finds something worth having on your side while there.
How would Drogon know where to go?

I have no idea how they’re going to make the Jon Snow series work after how poorly the last few seasons of GoT were received. I’m way more excited for prequel series than for a sequel. Especially one about the character I was the most bored with by the end of the series. I’m still gonna check it out of course, and if Ghost actually becomes a prominent character I’ll stick around for him.
Would love a show based on the Age of Hero’s, I know that time period lasted a long time.
The best way to do that would be an animated show where every episode is based on a different legend.
I would love a prequel series based on the beginnings of the House of Targaryen and the Dragons and the Doom of Valyria. I think this could bring some epic moments

According to Charlie from Emergency Awesome, the 9 Voyages and the 1000 Ships shows based on Corlys and Nymeria have been canceled. Too much of a risk apparently to focus on little known characters.
Snow and the Animated Series have *definitely* been green lit tho, so thats awesome. Also, HOTD will be an Anthology series and one time period they will be covering will be Aegons Conquest, WHICH I AM SO HYPE FOR

The best show would be Aegon’s Conquest, we’d get to see Balerion in his prime along with Vhagar and Meraxes, the largest Dragons in the story. We get to see all the great battles Aegon fought throughout his conquest like the burning of Harrenhal and the field of fire. I really want to see Visenya wield Dark Sister and as sad as it would be, the death of Rhaenys and Meraxes. Honestly I’d like to see it go all the way up into Jaehaerys’s reign. Like a full Prequel to House of Dragons
even better would be Valyrian anthology show about The Rise of the Valyrian freehold and it's Fiery Doom
And showing how Dorne resisted would be amazing as well

Stay away from Highland Titles.. the title companies are being called out currently... they cannot make you a lord or a lady. They can not even legally sell you a bit of land, just like Established Titles, it is illegal to sell Souvenir plots in Scotland. Also, a land owner in Scotland is not a lord or lady, they are a Laird, which people say "translates" as "lord" but it doesn't, it translates as estate owner. The companies are basically getting you to give them $50 to tell you that you can pretend to be a lord....that is the entire gist of it
Hopefully “Snow” starts with Bran waking up from a dream which was Season 7 and 8 and then it keeps made right

The problem with Blood Moon is that there's basically no source material. All we have are vague legends that are hundreds of years apart. There's also barely any civilization north of the Neck. If Winterfell existed it was a ring fort at best.

A show about Brendan Rivers, Dunk and Egg, and Aegon Targaryen would be excellent.
Brendan Rivers is one of the most interesting characters out there. He was a Targaryen, he became Lord Commander of the Nights Watch, then he became the Three Eyed Raven.
The three eyed raven is one of probably top five interesting characters to me.

@@TommyRibs That's why I also like Euron. The clues that suggest similarities or some connection between Euron & Brynden are interesting to stay the least.
I'll still watch it, but I'm not excited for Snow if GRRM isn't going to be involved in any way. HBO should be smart enough to make him executive producer on everything from here on out.
What's going to make it hard for any sequels and prequels to beat the original show is that it had so many aspects/themes/storylines that were different yet interesting to follow. It had:
1. Whitewalkers
2. Dragons
3. Fight for the throne amongst men and villains
4.Children of the forest and weirwoods
5. The different cultures and societies especially in Essos (wildlings, slaves, Lords, Dothraki)
6. Maesters, Wizards, Witches, Magicians and magic (Quarth warlocks, House of the Undying, Milesandre, Kinvara)
7. Three Eved Raven, greenseers and warging
8. Religions and extremism (religion of R'hllor, Faith of the Seven, Drowned god, Many Faced god, old gods of the forest)
and more I can't think of now.
The current show only has dragons and fighting for the throne. So while its an excellent watch, it won't immerse fans into a deeper universe and wont command the cult following we saw for the original show, unless they include all those aforementioned aspects.

HBO would be wise to avoid a Game of Thrones sequel for now. The books are not finished, and there is more than enough story set before Game of Thrones that is worth telling. House of the Dragon, Aegons Conquest, Roberts Rebellion and many things in-between.
Making a series based after one of the most controversial endings of any show, which isn't based on the original material is a huge risk that would either fix the last season of Game of Thrones or ruin it further.
Honestly the show i’m most excited for is Nymeria’s. Ever since that scene with Arya and Tywin I’ve been curious about the character.

I want to see Old Valyria for a 1 or 2 seasons and then the collapse of Valyria leading to Aegon conquering Westeros

I'm hoping they fix Jon in a similar way to how Thor was fixed for Ragnarok: injecting some life back into the character. Obviously Jon isn't going to be making any sides split, but just put his soul back into his body please.

Personally, I’d LOVE to see Robert’s Rebellion and the backstory/true story of Lyanna and Rhaegar. I also really, really, really (did I say really?) want Snow. Admittedly, Jon was my favorite character but damn, D&D did him dirty.

I thought that the "sea snake", and 10000 "ships" were cancelled? By HBO? I can see why they green lit, HOTD, (brilliant and I was just rewatching it), and Snow- because of the character but also the other GoT actors and characters who would like to return...no long casting process, familiar with the story and characters of the North, and it comes with its own team.

They kept the end of GoT open, the last living dragon left, the last living Targaryen went behind the wall, and Arya went behind the seas, this open ending has a lot of potential for new series.

Tbh il watch any show that HBO makes that set in the GOT universe but the show I probably want the most and feel like there is a strong possibility of seeing is a Robert's Rebellion show.

At this point, I'd watch anything they released besides the animated series. The dragons are my biggest draw to the story but one thing I missed in HoTD was the spooky lure of what's beyond the wall. So I'm most excited for Snow because I want to see if they bring that back. Will Drogon be around? Will Dany be resurrected? (I'm thinking no on that, but it could be possible.) The possibilities are endless with what they could do. Bran as the new Night King? Dany as the Night Queen? Dragon eggs found? If they do Snow and bring back White Walkers, then I think I'd love of a Long Night prequel after that. I'm not invested enough in Dorne for 10,000 ships or in Corlys for his story. I'm thinking I need a break from a Targaryen focus. I'd really like the White Walkers to be expanded on.
Dorne won't show up until the end in the Nymeria show. The real reason to watch that show is Sothoryos.
They should have done something with Aerys the Mad King and his relationship with a young Tywin and then forward to Rhaegar's courtship of Lyanna as well as Robert's Rebellion.

Read the fine print - you can only use the title within ‘their community’ and the land is in reserves - by law in Scotland no one can buy souvenir plots of land or square foot plots of land - none of it is legal!

You should look into your sponsors better.
You can’t become a lord or lady just by owning a piece of land. That’s incorrect and your sponsor is effectively scamming your viewers, and you are facilitating it.
They must explore or discover the place of Night King where he transformed the babies to a white walker.
I want to know what's west of Westeros. Come on HBO, bring back one of the most beloved characters on the show. Bring back Arya and her continued story!

I probably won’t watch the Sea Snake show. I would want to see Old Valyria and I think Samwell Tarly should leave Kings Landing and become Winterfells maester so he can go north of the wall with Gilly and little Sam and see Jon. Maybe a mix of Wildlings and Notrtherners resettle the Gift and New Gift.
I think the reason they did not go with the White Walker show is the cost of CGI.
