I have one question, i would expect that the rope doesnt last forever on the wood there? How often you change rope if you train every week. The wood cuts the rope after a year of use surely or smth?

Thus after some time the base will be hard enough and the top portion would eventually become soft. So i came up with another idea.Cut out a leg of a jeans or a pant with comaparatively small leg size than the size of punching bag. 1)Use a zip tag to hold the sand from bottom 2) Pour sand and then apply zip tag to its upper side for packing the sand 3) Wrap some clothes around the bag with thin ropes. 4) Put this portion in our punching bag. ADVATNAGES 1) Sand wont settle inside the bag. 2) Even distribution of hardness. 3) Less risk of leakage of sand.

I've always seen videos using plain sand bags wrapping them in carpeting and duct tape. But this is actually even better especially if you live in a small apartment. I still would wrap a ton of duct on it mainly for extra durability, but some clothes and a small amount of sand is practically perfect. And old school way was using tires, but nowadays you have to pay about the same amount for a used tire as a regular bag does. This, all you need is just about a $15-$20 bag of sand that you can get almost anywhere, practically free even if you live on the beach or at a desert.
This is crafty, the only thing ill change is that ill use grocery bags as stuffing instead of clothes. Thank you for sharing this, i prefer sand/dirt over water.
This actually pretty cool! Instead of buying a punching bag from the store which costs a lot. But however it couldn't sustain multiple strikes as it swings hard when get hit. But actually this will help to improve your footwork as you move along with this punching bag.
