Yes, Steve I agree with you. Finnair has a great product and always has! And my comments are from one who was a part of Singapore Airlines for many years.......
Fabulous report and just subscribed! Finnair is a great airline, I'm looking forward to a high Tier point run with them this December (2021). If you ever go back to Finland, take the train North as far Kemi, then a spectacular bus ride further North to Saariselkä. It's quite magical in the winter. Anyway, once again, great report. I look forward to more vlogs from you.
Thanks so much Steven, really appreciate it and welcome aboard! Also writing down your comment in my book now for future adventure inspiration! I was only a few hours in Finland, but wow that place blew me away and can't wait to return!
Ahoy Steve! .) This was a really nice trip, I love how you present aviation. Classic. Thanks for sharing, haven't tried Finnair, yet! Had the chance to visit Turku in 2010, a lovely and gorgeous city, highly recommend it! Lost most of my footage of it sadly, but slowly building up my channel and style so might visit again to get back on track there! Aye! Captain of the good old Blackthorne
Thanks so much! Why a wonderful country I can just tell it by the short glimpse I got on that wonderful trip! Can’t wait to return (and they also have the best chocolate :)
I flew Finnair HEL-LHR 2 years ago.OH-LXL,the whole flight was fabulous, service on board in economy was top notch,Ilove Helsinki, and plan to fly back on the A350 of Finnair as soon as I can, great video trip, thank you.I also visit EDI several times a year too, going this weekend.
You look younger 😂. That had me nostalgic about Lapland we visited Rovaniemi 3 times to see Santa, cross the Arctic Circle & see the Northern lights. I think u should review a visit to see the great man at his P.O. in Rovaniemi 😉 Pretty sure you can do it in a day trip! We did that twice & stayed overnight once.
Loved the AP reference! Another great vid! You’re more than likely de-iced as close to the runway as possible. With JFK it’s a busy airport so you could be taxiing or waiting in excess of 25-30 mins which is about the max time de-ice fluid is effective. You’d constantly be going back to the stand for more until at least...erm...Summer...!
I must comment you have been mighty lucky with the train toilet! They are definitely usually not *that* clean - the cleaner must have been there quite recently before you went there ;-)
Was it such a terrifying takeoff ? I had a similar experience returning home from visiting my family in Scotland a year ago January. Flew Glasgow / Amsterdam / Calgary then a couple of hours wait for my flight home to Kelowna B.C. The aircraft was Boeing 737 ,, we had left the gate and had taxied towards the takeoff runway. A blizzard set in, we returned to the gate for deicing ,, awful rough takeoff it was indeed. The plane was less than a third full, there was an awful nervous lady across from me, I did mention that if the flight crew didn't think it was safe there was no chance they would have taken off ,, but still it was a wee bit scary ,,, nice video you posted ,, thanks.
munnjean Thanks so much for watching and for the comment :) it was weird, I think my senses were just really heightened and it made every creak of the airframe more intense! In reality, I’m sure it was 100% normal and 100% in control, but I’ve never felt that way at takeoff! First time I’ve ever been scared, although I generally don’t love the night flights so much...
Certainly beats British Airways hands down cool experience.... Helsinki looked lovely not been there ...Been all over Sweden as i was lucky enough to work for Scania Sweden .....and i drove the trucks for 2 weeks on their driver training school including ... logggers ciaches and double Hgvs !!! Left hand drive ..too....😅😅😅😅
I love Finnair (not that I have much choice, living in northern Finland), so I'm glad you did too. Those last few weeks of normality before the world went to hell. If you want to explore Finland, get that kayak of yours and fly up to Ivalo, you can explore Lake Inari for weeks! :)
Sounds absolutely magical! Your country is spectacular - and from my short time in Helsinki I want to come back and explore EVERYwhere! Even the train journey from the airport was epic! All the best to you
@@steve-marsh thanks for reply. no, I would not choose such a lousy airline like AY is TODAY. Air France and Lufthansa even SWISS are so much better for the same price. everything free in eco, sekt and wine, spirits plus free of charge meal…...by the way I assume that you are from scotland. nice accent ...never mind...
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Loving your honest airline reviews. 👏👏👍😎
I loved this...thanks Merry Ann from Minnesota
Loved the Alan moment, excellent

I love your early videos ....😊
Nice video thinking of using finnair in the future
John Ridpeath cheers! A friendly airline, even though the other 2 times I used them, 1 was delayed and 1 was cancelled!
I really like your filming and presentation style, very nice 👍
jgroneng thanks very much :) really appreciate the view and support!

Have a great weekend Dave! Oh I need to get back to Helsinki as soon as possible, my short time there was just a hint of what a great place it is :)

I flew with Finnair in the opposite direction in 2018. Wasn't a fan of the Edinburgh airport, but the flight itself was a positive experience.
Yeah, no fan of Edinburgh airport either!

Have you done a full review of Helsinki? I'd be interested.
It's very much on the list - I really fell in love with the city in my short time there, and can't wait to return
Great camera work! Pity they still don't fly A350 to JFK, only to LAX in the US.
borealis thanks so much! Yeah, that would be cool - I think I might be on one early next year!
@@steve-marsh They fly A350 daily to LHR, cool short haul product :)
