  • In this video, I test out whether cheap golf balls work as good as expensive golf balls by testing the Maxfli Softfli golf ball vs Callaway Chromesoft. I have played golf for 35 years and am a single digit handicap golfer.
    I conducted this experiment by playing a golf scramble by myself, using each ball for every shot.
    Did i mention i love golf!??

    Hi Russ, I recognize that course!! Played it many times. Love the front 9 but the back 9 is really tight for me. I shoot high 90's. I use wilson zip #1 or maxfli straightfli #2.

    Play 9 with both tee to green and see which is best fun fact Maxfli Tours are balance spun! Thanks

      @@richardjacobs7632 I used to do this off camera a lot actually. Slower day and just me on the course, it makes sense to play 2 balls!

    I'd like to see a test between the max.Fly straightfly and the maxfly soft fly to see if the straightfly actually flies straighter

    Lots of mulligans on that Callaway 😉

      100% agree. Got a new one of these ball comparisons coming out soon!

    Great video I may try this with the taylormade speedsoft and TP5 and play 9 holes. It seems I could benefit from playing a premium ball now, but every time I test it out I can get a pretty similar play from the 25.00 ball (Callaway Supersoft and Taylormade Speedsoft)

    • @golfplaysruss
      @golfplaysruss  22 дні тому

      @@randygibsongolf4618 It’s definitely worth testing out. Compression and feel is key and if you can get that out of a less expensive ball, it only makes sense!

    Something that may have been overlooked is the forgiveness of the softfli.
    Suggestion softfli vs maxfli tour

      @@asapautoglass2007 Yeah I could agree with that. I like both balls a lot. Great suggestion on the Maxfli Tour, I’ve been playing them a ton this summer and absolutely love them. Big upgrade from the Softfli IMO

    Fun idea, great video! This suggestion might double the human error you mentioned at the end. But a 2 player alternate shot format. Playing 2 balls and the players switch after each shot. Then you would have a stroke play score for each ball.

    I jump up and top it way too often. I traced the issue to my not rotating hips, so the subconscious is trying to compensate.

    • @golfplaysruss
      @golfplaysruss  3 місяці тому

      I’ve experienced this same issue many years ago, and fully opening my hips on the downswing still can be an issue for me at times. Keep practicing!

    Hit 2 callaways ans 1 maxfli and give the point to callaway? How does that work. Why

    So callaways get mulligans but maxflis dont?

    I’d like to see ProV1 vs Kirkland balls. There was talk about Kirklands performance balls being ProV duplicates.

    Fun experiment but I’d challenge that if you had equal mulligans by brand or no mulligans the score would have been closer… I favor neither ball but agree if your ball striking isn’t great why by a $4 ball … I’ve read and tested myself that playing the same ball or same ball type is helpful in growing your individual game

      It remains an underrated ball. I’ve played the Softfli since 2021 and have been impressed with the Maxfli Tour balls as well. Plan on putting those up against Pro V1’s in an upcoming video
