such a cool video !!!! I love it ! the music the cuts the images !!!
love all the contrasted shots, nice work. I agree with you with the flares I do the same thing.
That was really useful, thanks. The whole issue about getting the framing correct up front is something I haven't heard elsewhere, so that was a real "value add". In fact, this wasn't just a formulaic lens review. You really brought to light what is needed to use the lens in a real situation. Just ordered the lens myself, but it hasn't arrived yet. It was a bit of a shot in the dark knowing which focal length to go for, so again it was a real help seeing what you were able to do with it. You have a lot to offer, sir.
Hey thanks so much! I get discouraged often as I feel like I don’t have much to offer! Thanks for the encouragement!
looks sick
Hey Matthew !
Yeah, fantastic real-world review / examples of this lens !
Yeah, excited about your next UA-cam videos ( subscribed now ) and your wonderful & genuine style of talking ! Congratulations for 3 years of documentary work ... sure as hell have a lot to offer a lot to the community already ! Just admiring art and getting inspired to shoot a little myself !
Peace, Mike
Awesome stuff man!
Thanks so much!
Outstanding quality 🙌🏾
Thank you so much!
Very nice shots in there! The only reason why i'm not getting the full Sirui 1.33x f1.8 lens kit is because of the squeeze factor that isn't consistent, depending on the distance it is from the subject. Sometimes it's 1.33x and sometimes it goes down to 1.25x (that's why your talking head section has been desqueezed too much). With these lenses, we would need to make tests at different distances and take notes of the results, trying to match a reference shot, and then always indicate an approximation of the actual distance at the beginning of each shot so you'd have an idea of what desqueeze value to enter in post. Other than that, great lenses, especially for the price!
Yeah that makes sense. I had a hard time figuring out the right squeeze on certain shots. That must be why!
@@MatthewWagnerFilms Yes that's it. Potato Jet has also confirmed it in his review. Consistent desqueeze makes the design a lot more expensive, unfortunately, but we're getting there!

Good stuff man.
Thanks so much!
Looks great! What’s the music?
Not sure exactly but it’s Something from Artlist.io
Thanks for sharing your though about the len...can you tell us about the filter you are using.??
I had a K&F concept variable ND 2-400 filter on there! And for some shots, a 1/4 black mist.
I’m thinking about purchasing this lens myself but am worried about having to buy all new filters. Are these 77mm filters you are using??
Yea I actually use 77mm filters for everything. Just using step up rings to get to it from the 67
Greetings from Tampa it accurate to say the 35mm even at apsc would still be around 35mm with the squeeze crop ?
Yeah it’s an apsc lens! In apsc mode on the camera it ends up being a 50ish mm Field of view vertically and yeah around 35 horizontally once desqueezed.
how did you process this? just an orange lut?
V-Log >> Rec 709 >> Manual Grades. No LUT
Amazing shots.. could you tell name of the music?
