I run 3 armorcast baneblades in my guard army. One for each company. I AM PRIMARILY A COLLECTOR AND PAINTER(old school). My dkok have their own homebrew super heavies and the baneblades outrank them. Stop and think about this if you will, the predator in 40k is the size of a Tiger 1... now extrapolate from there. Krieg, a planet that operates like the third Reich in 1945. The Gothic feel for tanks. Cut off from the Imperium , they made their own non stc vehicles. Note that kitbashes on 1/35th scale vehichles are in keeping with the flavor of 40k or 30 k. A for instance, want a home brew staff vehicle? A German 1/35th scale horch ww2 German car with a servitor for a driver and a cut down front window modifying it for 28mm scale infantry works really well. Mine has a vox ,a pile of lasguns and other personal equipment. The point being catachans, kriegers, cadians, all should each have a baneblade just for fun. And they are tougher than Any of the actual German kats. Now for a kitbashed 1/32nd tiger royal with ho scale riveted schurzen from a girder bridge kit. Bane blades need running mates and these work. I just like guards and tanks. Shadow swords are good too. My unit is the 3032nd panzergrenadiers(composite) if I was knowledgeable about how to send baby pictures I would. Great reflecting Orb of lore !!! About 20 years ago I fielded one of these behemoths and my friends pissed their pants. Little did they know that my warhound was nearing completion. Oh, the righteous slaughter.
Genuine question: wasn’t the baneblade considered a light tank during the dark age of technology? It would make sense, the sacred terminator armor of the space marines was originally used by miners in presumably large numbers. Most of the tech in the 41st millennium is the random blueprints that have survived the hell of the millennia and are now venerated as the epitome of human technology instead of essentially being the lesser items of humanity’s peak
Fantastic! You are truly a great storyteller. I'm glad you do what you do and just became a patron, in the hope to help you enough to continue. Thank you, Brother Baldermort.

As a boy I tried to scratchbuild a Baneblade out of cardboard from the plans they printed in White Dwarf. The result wasn't pretty, but I painted it up. I don't think it ever saw a game - I'm not even sure there were rules for it back then except in Epic.
But I bet you enjoyed those memories and do so whenever they resurface. I didn't build a bane, but the scratch built terrain from cardboard. Piles of singles as towers. LOL> Weird, but good, times. )

I'm currently thinking to get a Baneblade and paint it up for my Escher Gang - which doesn't make sense gamewise, but I'd love the "Tank Girl" vibe. Btw, thanks for entertaining us during these times :)
I remember playing Dawn of War as the Imperial Guard and facing off against a friend who was using the Space Marines defensive battle from the moment i started. I had managed to get a hold of the caps and relics i needed and just held as my friend kept bringing space marines which shredded my guard almost every time until i have proper las gun and turret support i remember he did his big push cutting through the main line and slaughtering my forces and right before he made it to my base my Bane Blade just created fired into his group utterly stopping them in their tracks and just from the baneblade alone which kept his marines off balance and killing him i was able to regroup and create new units and pushed his forces all the way back to his base a slow march with the bane blade at the lead its shells literally wiping out anything my friend sent out to face it. Friend said later that he never knew the bane blade was there until the blast hit his units, that was the introduction to the presence of the bane blade. It will literally turn the tide of battle.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Brother, build them. Play with them. it is what they wish. Haven't you seen toy story? The last thing I would want is to get shot at by angry baneblades when they become animate. LOL :)
@@Baldermort Well, unlike in toy story, they don't have potatohead hands with which to assemble themselves. I do agree with you on the build and play though. Models truly only reach their pinnacle on the field of glory on the diorama of the tabletop and the epic tales told by the d6s of fate. You'll love those models even more once one turns the tide in your favor by killing your opponent's nigh unkillable wraithknight or holding out against the turn 3 of focused doom to win you the game. As a guard player, i should have one, but i ended up with valkyries and russes instead with my one heavy being a land raider crusader for my paladin detachment (technically my main force back then due to old daemonhunters force org). I don't play anymore, but I really should pick one up for decorative purposes. Would be great guardinh the top of my in box.
nice narration, and nice middle ground in terms of continuing the story. And also i like the way you tie both the imperial and tau lore story together. As of now we have seen both sides of the conflict (or suspect that). As the Gue'vesa in the last one was placed together with the other auxiliaries to protect one of the flanks and coute charge, and fighting with full spirit and every fiber to prove their part in the greater good

The extra dakka is significant. Fortunately with 3d printing as common as it is now, you can probably ask a friend who has one to print you out some shooty bitz for it.
@@10thCompanyCaptain They sell extra sponsons from GW so worse comes to worse I could buy more. Part of me just doesn't like the design of the Sponsons. I got this blade for 70 bucks so I could always build it with out it and get more Baneblades with Sponsons.
I got a Shadowsword!!! Anyway, I hope you can do more battle reports! Perfect time to do it now to invite a trusted friend over during this quarantine time. I like how your story reflects how it is on the table top, since drone spam is the only way to go with dat dere riptides.
I am green with envy brother Zhou. I'll see what I can do. :) Aye, I am trying to work a little bit of magic into the stories so they show more than they tell. Wish me luck on that one. :)
I seem to recall when reading some of the lore, that in the pre-imperial times the Baneblade had originated from, that these machines were actually classed as medium tanks on those ancient battlefields.
Ah, the baneblade, I can't wait for getting to add one to my custom Astra militarum, if only I had the money, oh well, great video as always, I may not always comment but be asured that I watch every single one of your great videos. At least since I found your channel.
I do wish we had a tank between the Russ and the Baneblade to see an evolution between the two. Such a neat staple and it still looks good after many years.
MY own Baneblade is called "Scarface" for all the Battledamage it has on it ... i love Scarface cause he never lets me down in my Battles against the enemy often flanked by his personal Lemon Russ Guard Tanks "Little Friend" and "Emperors Greeting" followd by nearly 2 full Battalions of Infantrie of the one and only Deathcorp of Krieg ^^
My company of Leman Russes and Storm Chimeras have a trio of big, bad, gnarly older brothers. A Baneblade, a Stormlord and an Arkurian Pattern Stormlord. All of the enemies of Konig 33rd Heavy Assault Regiment are taught to fear the names of all their steeds, but none so much more than 'Gotterdammerung', 'Reckoning of Lead' and 'The Great Communicator'. If Leman Russes are the mailed fist of the Guard, Baneblades are the overwhelming gut punch, the dirty kick in the nads, the chair leg to the jaw of any stupid enough to not get out of their way.
I know two groups of folks who love Baneblades. Necrons-Anrakyr the Travelier gets to take control of one of their guns and shot it at whoever he wants. And Orks-"Mine, mine, mine, mine,oh shiny, mine, mine... mine." Lootin and dakka in one package.
How the Kauyon would suggest to feel: - retreat - place some pathfinders with marker lights next to the retreat path(preferably on an elevated position) - when the Baneblade follows aim lights at primary turret ring and show the Gue'la the error of their ways via multiple Sky Rays coordinating an attack from beyond their line of sight Take Heart, even a momentary setback will not stop the truth of the greater good.
@@Baldermort I did few mistakes when I begin to invest in the stock maket. I learn from this experience. It is true about everything. Just make a to do list before to release a vid. If you can make a list on a sheet of iron, that will be perfect because you can trust in iron.
Ooooh ya, the baneblade is the few sifi tanks I love, the amount of firepower behind it and the pure carnage it brings to the battlefield is beyond even the ATTE. Which vehicle do you think is better, the ATTE or the baneblade. Even though I love the ATTE unrelentingly, I can not ignore the sheer power of the baneblade.
Fair question. But alas, I have to disappoint. I honestly don;t know the specs on the ATTE and could not the conversions myself. They are two utterly different universes and aesthetics. Both have their merits. I think Star wars very new world sci fi and wrahammer very old world. Warhammer has the pomp and circumstance, the parades, the grit. The star wars universe has a feel of new world, more brass, more confident and more direct. Warhammer is very oblique at times, which is how I exist in this spot I guess. Pointing out what I consider the oblique. But star wars has a rawness all of its own as well. I won;t discuss where it is now as that can draw contention and its just not necessary. Know what I mean? But of the two it would depend entirely on mood. If bright, summer or I was chipper, perhaps the ATTE. Its fun. But cold, autumn etc, I would prefer the BB. Crush, boom, dakka. As a player of warhammer, so its not just the figure but also the lore, the playing, the writing up wee adventures - it would have to be the Bane Blade of course. Ok. I am away with the fairies tonight. Sorry. Long day. :P :)
@@Baldermort well said, well said. I completely understand what you mean and I would somewhat agree, the star wars universe is relatively "safe" compared to Warhammer a bombastic and grimdark setting. Keep up the good work.

Have a gr😊eat day and keep tanking!. Just ran into the "bill" stories. Very cool.
How does this channel not have more subs? This in my opinion is the best 40k lore channel on youtube.
thank you so much! We all need more Baldermort in our lives in the trying times so keep ‘em coming!
John White doing my best brother. It may dip a bit in visuals, they are my bane, lol, but I really am trying as hard as I can to get more out. :).
Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer don’t worry about that, it’s just great to hear from you and I think most of us are here mainly for your amazing narration skills anyway;)
You do have a way of pointing out how dope things are. I have never been a fan of most things Imperium, but you first got me with Commissars, then had me pledging allegiance to the Lion's 1st. Now I've had a pretty vivid fantasy of stretching out feet of measuring tape from the end of a large model tank.
Thanks Baldy! Congrats on 15k subscribers.
Thanks brother Todd. Its all about imagination and relaxation. I am really glad I can help you pass the time and get those gaming hungers on again. :)
Definitely my favorite channel for good old fashioned entertainment. Keep up your magic work brother.
Bofa Dee aye, it’s just light stuff here. Going for jolly as possible from here on in. Well, as much as the grim dark will allow of course. :).
I'm genuinely happy I've stumbled across your channel I love Warhammer lore maybe not the gaming side so much but your a great story teller and you keep me gripped, keep it up please.
Great narrative and informative. Keep up the good work.
Another great story, Baldermort! Seriously, this is one of the best 40k channels out there! Keep it up and soon you'll be at 40,000 subscribers!
Anxious Samurai thanks brother Samurai. With the community we have, well 99.99 %, I think we can get there one day. Let’s be honest - the community actually write half of these stories. :).
Love your work and your passion mate
I love the Baneblade, I hope when ever the 9th edition guard codex drops they get some love so they are easier to play on the table.
The excellence of these videos cannot be understated, I look forward to each and every one of your videos. Thank you for bringing this content starved community such perfect sustenance
And thank you for taking the time to listen and to comment, brother Shredder. It is very deeply appreciated. :)
Great work with the Audio Drama! Love to see it, a gem of storytelling you don't see too much anywhere else.
I think Bill may be one of my favorite characters from any story.
Bravo Good Sir! Your tireless efforts are not in vain. Your melodious prose endlessly entertains. TTFN!
Thank you brother Ma Lin. :)
I hope you are taking care of yourself. :)
some of the best videos on 40k I've ever watched
Thank you brother. On a lucky streak at the moment. :)
I had another day made wonderful listening to your channel in work
Glad I could help even a little, brother Claw. : )
::raises glass:: TO BILL THE BUTCHER- I MEAN BANEBLADE!!
Great reflecting Orb of lore !!! About 20 years ago I fielded one of these behemoths and my friends pissed their pants. Little did they know that my warhound was nearing completion. Oh, the righteous slaughter.
Nedyse I would have loved to see that moment. Lol. :).
@@Baldermortme too.
Genuine question: wasn’t the baneblade considered a light tank during the dark age of technology? It would make sense, the sacred terminator armor of the space marines was originally used by miners in presumably large numbers. Most of the tech in the 41st millennium is the random blueprints that have survived the hell of the millennia and are now venerated as the epitome of human technology instead of essentially being the lesser items of humanity’s peak
yes light tanks and terminator armour was originally designed labourers to wear for cleaning plasma reactors
Holy throne, your voice and stories about the lore! Easily my new favorite lorehammer youtuber.
Fantastic! You are truly a great storyteller. I'm glad you do what you do and just became a patron, in the hope to help you enough to continue. Thank you, Brother Baldermort.
And a patreon waay above a normal donation. Erm, I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. Yes, of money, to support the making of more videos and light entertainment, but also of the sheer gesture and consideration. Dumbfound. Thank you so much. But do not worry. I am moving towards a lot more activity on the Patron site first and you will see this very soon indeed. :)
Thank you! :)
It's fully my pleasure, sir!
LOL> Weird, but good, times. )
I hope you kept it.
@@Steven-sy6nu Yes I did :)
Hi shoot that narrative story was brilliant! Don’t play 40k but I’d very happily listen to a whole audiobook like that. Subscription well earned.
Umkhombo thanks for the reminder! Got a battle to continue on this one! Darn it I am tired. How could I forget? Doh!!!
2 vids in one day and in this one your keeping me hanging with a kick ass story like that nooooo I need to know more about these plucky boys and there tank loved the accents by the way utterly amazing work brother
brazen187 don’t tell
Anyone. But that’s my accent. :).
Fabulous video! That club campaign sounded great fun.
It had its high moments. Nids vs Necrons vs Eldar and Imperium. I wrote a buckload of fluff for that campaign. lol. :)
I loved the description of the Infardi Baneblafe in Dan Abnett’s Honour Guard
I need to read that book then. Dammit, never enough time! Thanks for listening brother T. :)
Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer I highly recommend all of the Gaunt’s Ghosts novels by Dan Abnett, I feel you’d appreciate them! :D
I also just want to say that I’m so glad I finally found your channel! Your narration is flawless and your stories are amazing!
The first day of the Battle of Calth was a day when Baneblades rained from the sky.
Thank you gentle reader for spreading the words of the emperor!
A legendary vehicle with an equally legendary narrative; AWESOME SIR!
Let me just say your stories inspired me to make my blood angels army with a land raider as a transport and now with these videos your inspiring me to make a astra militarum tank army
WHOA! These guys are great, but hold up! BA are on the horizon. At least leave it until then before you do anything. I think everyone knows I run BA, so its no secret I love them, despite always trying to be fair to everyone. Lets see what we can do on BA week before you shelf the MIGHTY SONS OF THE 9TH! THE BLOOD ANGELS!!!
*pant pant*
God I love BA.
I already started my blood angels at the start of the year and your land raider story made me want a land raider lmao
God dammit Baldermort, I love the little connected stories you make! Keep on keeping on you glorious basterd. If you ever deside to GM a game I would LOVE to play in it regardless of system.
He lix my friends had asked who would be in your dream Champaign with any living figure and then one of death figures. I choose Baldermort for the living and tie between Ben Franklin or Tolkien for DM for the death figures session. Granted I wanted Ben Franklin to play the Bard.
Looking forward to more lore in this area. Love these tanks!
My favourite 40K content creator, and a gentleman to boot , congratulations on 15K subs brother , you’ll be on 30K in no time. Stay well sir 👍☘️
I love me some tau but who couldn’t shade a tear at the glory that is bills wrath. The xeno? No because even they cry at the fear. the heretic? No for they seek to die for there gods. The dead? No for they are with the emperor... watching.
I’m delighted to see your numbers rising. Stay safe and healthy in these strange times
Thank you brother Carl. I like to think of them more as 'our' numbers. Heck, how many times have you alone given me good advice and steered the channel to improvement? Plenty.
And I am working on that discord thing you mentioned about 4 months ago. :)
I do listen. I really do. :)
I'm currently thinking to get a Baneblade and paint it up for my Escher Gang - which doesn't make sense gamewise, but I'd love the "Tank Girl" vibe.
Btw, thanks for entertaining us during these times :)
Do it! But get a brush out and get a tank girl on its side. :) That would be awesome!!!! :)
Love it my man. Thank you for this and keep it coming
Chris Coulson thanks Boss. Hope you are looking after yourself! :).
Not gonna lie the baneblade was one of my first models, I regret nothing
Damn straight! Magnificent models. Magnificent. :)
Congratulations on exponential growth curve.
You;re helping right now by watching and commenting. Honestly, this is a team effort in my mind. :)
Damned excellent work Sir. Always a pleasure to listen too. Keep it up man
"How could they?"
O.o
...Alien booty...
LOL! :)
Love your videos keep up the great work! Also congratulations on the 15k subscribers!
Thank you brother Zombie. :)
Everytime I play as the Guards on LAN and finally get the relic:
*IT'S ABOUT TO GO DOWN*
I remember playing Dawn of War as the Imperial Guard and facing off against a friend who was using the Space Marines defensive battle from the moment i started.
Now THAT'S a tank!
I feel if I saw this as a model on the table, it would take up at least a quarter of the area XD
Great video, Baldermort!
I have two brand new in box one still has the shrink wrap sadly I could never make up my mind on a camo scheme or Imperial Guard regiment.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Brother, build them. Play with them. it is what they wish. Haven't you seen toy story? The last thing I would want is to get shot at by angry baneblades when they become animate. LOL :)
@@Baldermort
Well, unlike in toy story, they don't have potatohead hands with which to assemble themselves.
@@CtrlAltRetreat if you don’t build them, I’m going to find and force you to under flamer point.
nice narration, and nice middle ground in terms of continuing the story. And also i like the way you tie both the imperial and tau lore story together. As of now we have seen both sides of the conflict (or suspect that). As the Gue'vesa in the last one was placed together with the other auxiliaries to protect one of the flanks and coute charge, and fighting with full spirit and every fiber to prove their part in the greater good
Thank you Baldemort for tying in the Rus tank video to this one. It was with baited breath I waited for a conclusion to their story.
Heh. Alas, the lads have a few more hurdles. I think we will be having another vote next week. The Tau are coming to spring their 'trap'. Lets see how the votes go. :) :)
@@Baldermort Thanks now I have baited breath again. Fair thee well Brother Baldemort
Baldermort! You are very busy indeed.
I hope COVID-19 hasn't gotten you down. Though this seems a good way to avoid getting it, sitting in and making fun stuff here.
I hope you stay safe as well, looks like this is a great time to paint my guardsmen.
I will be painting my BANEBLADE.
ANd my imperial fists.
Craft of Gaming sweet, I have a rescued Baneblade. I don’t have sponsons how important or crucial are they for the operations of a baneblade?
The extra dakka is significant.
Fortunately with 3d printing as common as it is now, you can probably ask a friend who has one to print you out some shooty bitz for it.
@@10thCompanyCaptain They sell extra sponsons from GW so worse comes to worse I could buy more. Part of me just doesn't like the design of the Sponsons. I got this blade for 70 bucks so I could always build it with out it and get more Baneblades with Sponsons.
Congrats on the 15k!
Congrats on 15K subs. Now lets get 41K!
Thanks brother Ra. ) :)
Aye, I am trying to work a little bit of magic into the stories so they show more than they tell. Wish me luck on that one. :)
ahh baneblade, truly the mightiest steed to "drive me closer" because "i want to hit them with my sword"
perfect timing, just before bed
Your narrative is a gem!
Baldermort are the audio drama parts of your videos extracts from books and stuff or do you write them yourself?
Sorry, they are my ramblings. I now they aren't polished. I;ll improve with time though eh? :)
Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer oh no I think they’re great. They’re often the best part of the video.
Congratz 15 K Abonnees! Keep up the good work so you can get the blessing of the Emperor!!!
Thanks brother Dehaese. :)
♥Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer
Someone decided that a heavy stubber for the commander would be a worthwhile investment
To hear you use the word delete in this context was perfect.
I have one in my unit. "Knight Stalker". As it killed 3 knights in one game. That was luck but it did win the day.
Hmmmmmmmmmm
I don't know how to feel:
A.) I love the Tau.
B.) The Tau are being krumped in the most glorious way possible.
How the Kauyon would suggest to feel: - retreat
- place some pathfinders with marker lights next to the retreat path(preferably on an elevated position)
- when the Baneblade follows aim lights at primary turret ring and show the Gue'la the error of their ways via multiple Sky Rays coordinating an attack from beyond their line of sight
Take Heart, even a momentary setback will not stop the truth of the greater good.
Great one brother. Maybe you should put the link of patreon in the description. That will help to raise your patreon
True. I forget every single video. Sigh. I am a door opening and closing object. :(
@@Baldermort I did few mistakes when I begin to invest in the stock maket. I learn from this experience. It is true about everything. Just make a to do list before to release a vid. If you can make a list on a sheet of iron, that will be perfect because you can trust in iron.
your subscribers have more than tripled in the last 2 months more or less. good job
I just bought a baneblade a few days ago, jolly good!
