Hey guys, in this video we will show you how to remove and replace the serpentine belt for the a/c compressor and the serpentine belt for the alternator, water pump on VW Rabbit with the 2.5 5 cylinder engine or VW Jetta MK5 with the 2.5 5 cylinder engine. Some models and years might differ. Some 2.5 engines even use single belt which will be different.

That alternator belt was actually mounted wrong. It was mounted with the striped face of the belt against the top pulley..
I really appreciate your photo of the belts! Literally saved me from towing the car to a mechanic as I couldn’t find a decent diagram or photo anywhere and the Haynes manual doesn’t have one either.
Take the tire off..
Remove inner wheel well
Can then do job from side mostly :)
Made it look a lot easier than it really is. Took me 2hrs but I did it without removing the splash/fender liner and It was dark. But smh thanks for the good Info. Also my belt was 2 sided grooved like no flat side both sides had groves but still same routing

quick question ? what if the belt brand new just got install on bit when turning on the car it hesitates and when you try again it melts off the belt

Remove front passger wheel. Remove cover that covers the belt. Remove hose. Remove belt. Hope this helps. "It doesn't help to be critical"
