- Saman Amel is a Scandinavian brand that wants to change the way men think about suits. As its first ready-to-wear collection lands exclusively at MR PORTER, we travelled to Stockholm to discover more about the made-to-measure atelier putting Sweden on the tailoring map.

That Off-White on Off-White combo... deadly.
The Music...Oh, the Music!
I felt elegant, just watching this video. Please, more videos like this one :)
I concur!
I am loving their colour palette!
They do make a good case. Most of us can't buy bespoke and the selection we get is usually stiff suits, even if they are wool
I love seeing clothing from the perspective of other cultures. Here in the States, I wouldn't say we are sheltered from other styles, but I think we can expand dramatically. Now that the financial world is going more 'business casual," I would like to see more like this around large cities.
You are so right on about that. Look at The Beatles. They went from wearing Leather Outfits, then got a makeover with suits on Carnaby Street which is synonomous with Britain especially with fashion, then they went through the sargent pepper phase as seen in the video for strawberry fields and the like. In the 1950's and 1960's america was very conservative with fashion.
Their dedication to customizing the product to every single client is remarkable! Makes you love clothes even more
This is so soothing to watch
Put more videos like this 👍
I love the palate of everything in your store. Your approach to clothing is amazing.
Garment selection is acquire standard I got the website btw open a shop in Brooklyn ,new york thank you
First time hearing about this brand.
While I do think they do a good job at their thing, I don't think they're re-thinking the suit necessarily.
From my perspective, I think they're still too convervative in their approach and are not really exploring radically different ideas.
Just a quick glance from their pieces, you see that it's not very different from other clothing.
Sure, it might be of high quality, good cuts, nice drape, but there's no "re-thinking".
Agree, still looking stiff, not flowy hence not modern. Don't need more suit, need more unstructured, relaxed fit (oversized might work depending on length and fabric) blazer or double breasted in beyond neutral colors...
You're right. that is just classic Italian semi-casual style. Comfortable and elegant.
Are you joking? His suits look horrible
Hayden stiff? Sleasy
"Rethinking the suit" is the name of the corresponding video series. I don't think they are actually setting the bar for the companies to be revolutionary, rather than having tried to find an eye-catching title for their mini-series
Yoh!!! Damn!! that white is top of the top
Nice!!
Wow, who made the loafers the model was wearing?
good video
Thank you!
These guys should give themselves and each other a Pat On The Back. Their line is still going strong unlike Dolce & Gabbana.
👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I wouldn't call this anything revolutionary. The Armoury, Drake's, and especially Ring Jacket as well as many other Japanese-Ivy brands have been doing this for years.
I don't see any resemblance to what Drake's does (or the Armoury). They have a very particular taste which is very modern and scandinavian.
Nice but for 450 for a trouser I could get TF
I overall really enjoy their style but that sweater around your neck is such a turn off for me!
Rethinking the suit as they walk by in suits.
Seventh!!
Reassuringly expensive
"Rethinking"... ok.
As long as they're not wearing suits with their ankles out...
MatthewJBD it looks good wit a pair of loafers on summer in a not too formal setting.
@@neitherlink6612 not with a suit, that's categorically wrong. A sports coat and chinos perhaps... But not a suit.
MatthewJBD and who are you to say that? Are you perhaps an accomplished fashion designer and tailor, or just a clothing enthusiast that has seen too many “style rules” videos on UA-cam?
@@neitherlink6612 I'm just a guy with an opinion. I think it looks ridiculous and is a massive fopar. You will be judged.
Another one tied by 'style rules'. Yawn ~~
To be honest, your clothes are boring, you don’t have to be the loudest person in the room, but you certainly cannot be the most boring person in the room.
Not a very compelling argument, and I find it interesting that you think this style is boring. Peculiar.
@@MrJ3 It's subjective. I too find it boring and I don't see the need for more "casual" in ready-to-wear.
@@lyledeyounges1276 If you think that's the aim of the brand then you completely missed the point. The concept is to contrast with the current standards of bespoke and high end ready to wear by offering an alternative price point and level of tailoring/customization in their clothing, along with what most people consider to be "scandanavian" design philosophies in clothing which is a very heavy focus on texture, fit, and how various pieces interact with each other without necessarily being part of a "set".
@@mmmmmmmmn1337 I agree with you. I have been following Saman Amel for a while. And, I hope to commission a suit from them in September of this year.
I think those clothes look good in cinematic shots captured by an expensive camera and all that thoughtfully placed lighting but how would they look when you walk down the market wearing them?
Don't like the European dual splits on a mans suit jacket.! Prefere shirts and jackets with a looser fit. People today are big, what about them?
First
This is Mr. Porter, no one cares. LOL
@@Andrew_Kono yeah ...true
Wonderful video, as ever but I don't like this style. They looks anyone today... Vulgar
This fit will date very badly, modern stuff caters to lgbtq people only. I don't want to look like them or have them design for me, I'll stick with the timelessness of Oxxford Clothes and certain Ralph Lauren pieces.
