Keep Your Parked Car Cool With These Clever Hacks | Better | NBC News
Great tips and very well applicable and straight. Some other videos will first lecture you on the reason the sun must exist and how the interaction between your car and the sun may keep you to use the restroom and finally share the tips.
“How to get your car broken into with just a 2in cracked window.”
I’ll rather get into a hot car than having my radio, personal belongings and possibly the whole car stolen. 🤷🏻♂️
That's why I drive a stick shift.
Anyone who gonna break in, can get in even with the door locked and window closed. Takes like 3 minutes max. Have you ever locked your keys in car and called emergency roadside like Triple A? If those guys can get into the car, then anyone can.
who's gonna steal your radio lmao
My car have sunroof, which can open only 2 inch 🙃
Bruh if someone’s gonna break into your car they’re gonna do it regardless. You can even lower you window enough to where it doesn’t even look lowered
Installed plastic car window awning on the top part of all car windows , so the 1 to 2 inches lowered windows would not be so obvious from the outside & help to protect from rain! 🙏
I can testify that cracked windows and a sunshade do wonders in hot weather, especially 100+ like we've been getting the last two months. I don't understand people thinking cars are easier to break into with the windows cracked, how does it make things any easier for a thief than fully rolled?
They pick the lock way easier so I’d say depends where your parking
if you dont have your windows open. they would need to shimmy their way into the car. spread the weather strip and slowly insert the tool to get into your car.
if you DO have your car windows opened, you dont need to shimmy anymore so you just need your tool, shove it in and you're good to go.
you're basically doing 1 less step for them to get into your car.
where I live, it can thunderstorm without warning in the summer, even if the weather doesn't call for it. Otherwise, I would crack the windows. but I do use a sunshade and it makes a huge difference.
1) Partially Open your windows.
2) Use Solar Shade
3) Turn Steering Wheel 180 degrees so the hot part is not the part you normally touch.
4) Cover Surfaces with Beach Blanket
Thank you🙏
As someone living in Phoenix this is obvious I was hoping for tips to keep it cooler but only so much one can do at 100+ for half the year it feels like.
Cracking the windows helps keep the car from being blazing hot?? I never would have figured that out!!
it's actually because the thieves will have the AC on as they cruise away......
Thanks
🙏 Thank You So Much for the Common Sense to have a Cooler car when parked under a hot Sun! 🌏
I wouldn't crack a window without rain guards. They don't offer any real protection, but at least you're not visually inviting thievery.
The heat in Kuwait is 52 today and am here looking for all ways to reduce the car heat 🤣😂
52 °c
If you have the money…clear or tinted ‘tint’ with sun blocking technology…do windshield as well..consider a sun visor strip ..all the way around …I’m getting mine done tomorrow
Wow cracking a window will actually make you 90% more likley to get broken into.
My gosh what would people do without these tips. 😂
followed all directions. now it's snowing in my car
This guy really pull out an article on why we should cracking the windows. 😂
😂🤣 I hope he comes to California where temperatures gets to 110 all that window cracking will still keep the temperature at 100 inside the car 😂🤣
That's what i was thinking 🤣🤣. But now I'm confirm and satisfied that cracking the windows actually helps to reduce heat, And it's not a made up myth.
I just roll the windows down. They even have a sun roof nowadays that I only use for that purpose.
Also, ceramic tint on the windows can keep your car cool
Yep. This is the best mechanic engineers can do.
I live in West Texas and ceramic tinted windows don't help, save your money it's expensive.
Or park in the shade....
Just throwing it out there...
That's easier said than done when you're parked in a big city lot with no trees or buildings nearby.
Everyone wants to park in a shade but no one wants to plant a tree.
Nah…That’s where you’re more likely to get bird poo on your car. The longer I can keep my car clean the less I have to clean it.
Trees ruin your paint
10k views with only 12 comments? amazing.
Coming from a guy with jersey plates it doesn’t mean anything, I’m from texas you guys have never met summer
Buy a white vehicle!! A white cover on the outside of the windows reflects the heat before it gets in the car. Twirl a wet towel and then when it's cool put it over your head and shoulders.
How bout wetting the steering wheel?
In Saudi Arabia, the temperature reaches 50 degrees Celsius .. even when you park the car in the garage, the heat is high
🥲🥲🥲🥲
So every day in Arizona?
@@PhaseSkater it does not get 122 degrees in Arizona..
@@anthonyfletcher8053 it hit 124 at the Phoenix airport a few years ago dude. They even shut it down cuz tires were popping. I lived in Phoenix for a while. It starts getting over 100 degrees in spring time
Kuwait.. 52 Degrees.. ua-cam.com/video/p6IoEDnUEps/v-deo.html
Philippines here and those temps are nothing especially with our humidity
Not tinted windows?
Or you can buy a 6 or 7 piece window shades
First one is very effective but impractical
Crack sunroof if you have one. If possible, park with rear towards sun.
Why does the car get hot? Seriously? Your car will NOT be cool. If it's 98℉ outside, that's the coolest it will be.
Depends on your cars insulation
Sub ambient isn’t going to happen without the ac.
@@Dannyman390 Assuming you had the AC on before you stopped.
then you are trying to slow down the heat exchange.
Shade is in fact the best answer.
Touch a white car in the sun, then touch a chromed piece, you guessed it the chrome is hotter. Then if you dare, touch any other colored car. With the windows covered in white on the outside of the glass there is no need to turn the wheel over. Also in the winter you can skip scrapping the frost and ice.
I am sorry but those degree American use is farenheit, my brain always churning when you guys starting to do measurement unit
Gets black leather steering wheel and interiors with no window tints then complains that it’s hot lol
The steering wheel thing is too much😂😂
This is Kindergarten class for us Phonecians.. Yawn...
I was expecting some Juicy tips
Also, buckle the seat belts
number 3, a stopped car has more reistance on power stearing so no i dont recommend
People worried about cars being stolen live in wrong country lol! Come to qatar we keep our houses and cars unlocked all the time😂
Groundbreaking tips there, thanks!
Want to stay alive? Don’t jump off tall buildings.
I see 1 better way to get your parked car stolen. Crack your windows 2 inches and give the bad guy a 20 percent better chance of noticing the open window which will increase your chances of getting your car stolen
Please help me if you can
Just go ahead and get some ceramic tint and you'll be fine.
My car gets 110 not going to help much..But thanks anyways..lol
That wont work in texas
I wonder what state I'm in because it works for me
🙏👏🏻👍🏻
First let me show you how to get robbed
Just never buy a black car
Cracking a window definitely keeps your car cooler
because the thieves will have the AC on as they cruise away......
