“I don’t wanna hear about cunch and food and tings, man don’t do those tings” Cunch is short for “country”, a reference to out of town trap houses and such. Food is drugs.
I feel sort of bad for Wiley at this point, but he has to drop the whole "grime father" thing and just get on with his life bro (and enjoy things for a change! music evolves!). Nobody giving him points for being annoying and grumpy.
A wheel up is where the dj spins it back and plays it again because it’s so dope. So ‘3 wheel ups in a row means I’m a direct rude boy’ means he’s the goat.
Wiley is on the Album version, "me and wiley had a clash that's a real mc" that's one of the most famous old school UK clashes. Wiley and Kano were there at the beginning.
The bar where Kano mentions Wiley, he says "me and Wiley had a clash, that's a real MC". Wiley and Kano clashed on Lord of The Mics, if you've not checked those out you need to! Proper Grime vibe with 2 mc's face to face going bar for bar
A lot of people get called GOAT and OG but believe me, Kano IS. A legendary UK MC - definite master of the craft. Check out: Kano feat D Double E and Ghetts - Class of Deja live at BBC 1Xtra, and Kano’s Can’t Hold We Down, Teardrops, and Pan Fried next. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Honestly there’s a LOT of Wiley tunes you should check out. He’s called The Godfather of Grime for a reason. Best place to start would be Holy Grime, imo. That’ll introduce you to Devlin too, both legends.
I love how hyped you are for this track despite mishearing every lyric and not understanding any of the slang or references even if you heard it correctly 😂 Saw Kano live on the tour he did for the album after this one and it was incredible. I'm sure you've had all the recommendations for Kano but a personal favourite is SYM live on Jools Holland
His album HOODIES ALL SUMMER is amazing. You do need to check the lyrics. And when your're ready, try CLASS OF DEJA LIVE AT MAIDA VALE with Ghetts and D Double E
A someone from south London who isn't that much younger than Kano let me help fill you in on a few ltircs you missed or misunderstood. -He doesn't say tyrant rude boy, he says direct rude boy. - "Pop, pop, pop, that's a reload ting And when I say "it's Kano in the house" Everybody knows that's a reload ting" A reload in grime is when the DJ starts the track from the start because they crowd are loving it. It's just a way of letting the MC continue. Felt like you wouldn't know that but it's a Grime thing. -"If you've been shotting in the manor from way back when, And you ain't on a kilo ting, I don't wanna hear about cunch & food and tings, Man don't do those tings" Shotting is dr(u)g dealing. The Manor is back where you grew up. So if you STILL ain't on a Kilo ting (selling in kilos) since back in the Manor, Kano don't wanna hear about it. Food is another slang term for dr(u)gs, and going Cunch is going up country. Like Kano (Sully) does in Top Boy. Goes up country (cunch) to a small seaside town to sell without anyone knowing who you are/police suspicion. Basically, if you're not high up the chain and making moves, Kano doesn't want to acknoledge that talk from you. Basically, he's not involved, but especially not from someone who's been low level their whole life.
Love Kano absolute quality! His Fire in the Booth is great. Also This is England, Ps and Qs and Trouble are worth checking out too… the beat from this is the second on Akala flows over in Pt4
This is my favourite reaction from you guys! Back when you didn't know what to expect. Courts reaction is priceless! Even though in early days you only got 30% of references. You guys are best of the rest with reactions!
Man, you guys were all over the place on this one but I appreciated the love for the levels Kano and Giggs brought to this 😅 Wiley’s verse is missing from the video version, but it starts the album version and makes the track even more fire. Lots of UK slang in this one, and Kano in particular is quite hard to catch all the bars on even for UK listeners, as he’s so techy with it. Worth taking the time to delve deeper into this one though, it’s a Grime classic, and Kano’s bars are maaaad - repeated listens and lessons in Uk slang a must 😅💥💥💥
@@mananzi9907 That’s definitely true - and I think true of most grime artists of this era. They are not trying to appeal to particular audiences by changing anything about how they talk, make music or anything. And I think that authenticity is what has made grime such a successful export.

Really appreciate the love for Kano on this track, but man about 90% went right over your head haha 😄 Not your fault, its UK culture and slang that Americans arent going to get unless you immerse yourself for a while. Just a few things from the start of the video... He's saying "three wheels up in a row that makes me a direct rude boy". Wheel up, also called a reload or rewind, is when an MC hypes the crowd so much that the DJ rewinds the beat and the MC starts over. It was just a part of the club scene, getting reloads meant you're fire basically. Rude boy is Jamaican slang, basically saying he's a G. (There's a lot of afro-carribean slang in UK urban culture) Wiley is an MC known widely as the Godfather of Grime. He and Kano are two of the top OGs from those early days, and Wiley basically created the musical style he called Eskibeat which gave birth to Grime (his instrumental Eskimo is generally considered the first grime beat ever made). Wiley has a verse on the album version of this track, but he didn't show up to the music video shoot (classic Wiley haha) so they just cut his verse 😂 To explain all the lyrics would take forever. American/non UK listeners have such a hard time with Grime and UK rap music because it's SO heavy on British cultural references and the cultural influences from the different communities these artists come from, which brings it's own slang and references which are hard for outsiders to understand. If you persist then there's so much amazing lyricism coming from UK artists, but it's an endeavour for sure as a non-Brit. Your efforts are applauded nonetheless 👌😄
Wiley is the founder of UK grime - he built a scene for UK young youth, from this people have the likes of Stormzy on their TVs and phones and platforms thanks to him. Grime was getting shut down back then as it was new and police were shutting it down, radio wasn’t playing them. So Wiley, dizzee, Kanos, ghetts, Skepta, chip, wretch, scorcher, JME, devlin broke them down and a few others like p money

Love to see you guys listening to UK music, When i was growing up this scene was completely underground and blew up to become mainstream, but for years we if I wanted to listen to hip hop I had to get it from the US, growing up with Dr Dre, Snoop, Outkast, Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z to name a choice few was great but also annoying as I rarely had the opportunity to go and see them perform live shows, unless they came over to the UK. Its cool to see how this has 180'd now and that UK music is getting noticed and respected in America. I would definitely spend some time trying to go through the lyrics as you missed some real bars due to the barriers between the accents and slang. (I'm from Manchester, and some of these lyrics are still difficult to catch even for me because of the speed and the accent, but worth unearthing) You missed a bar right before the method man one, where Kano says, "Take this pen to your neckAnd just just Joe Pesci man with it" - Casino reference.
I got a few recommendations for you. If you liked the energy of this then his big one that got him top tier is 'Kano... P's & Q's'. Then just cause its got the same big energy and literally anybody who matters from the OG grime scene..... 'Lethal Bizzle... 'Pow 2011'

You NEED to listen to : made in the manor, hoodies all summer and home sweet home by Kano. All Stone cold classic albums. Every single song is a banger. Kano: beats and bars mixtape. Giggs : talkin’ the hardest. Skinnyman : council estate of mind (album) The streets : original pirate material, a grand don’t come for free (albums) The four owls:nocturnal instinct and natural order(albums) Akala. Shakespeare (single) it’s not a rumor (album) Aitch: daily duppy, mice, taste.

You NEED to listen to : made in the manor, hoodies all summer and home sweet home by Kano. All Stone cold classic albums. Every single song is a banger.
Kano: beats and bars mixtape.
Giggs : talkin’ the hardest.
Skinnyman : council estate of mind (album)
The streets : original pirate material, a grand don’t come for free (albums)
The four owls:nocturnal instinct and natural order(albums)
Akala. Shakespeare (single) it’s not a rumor (album)
Aitch: daily duppy, mice, taste.
Kano is that guy. Even jay z called it 10 years ago! He’s just built differently.
You would love Giggs: talking the hardest, a true UK Anthem
Kano is an OG of the game, as is Wiley... Check out lord of the mics. That was a battle at the top of a block of flats (apartments) when they were on the pirate radio show days.
Wiley isn't on the video version because he didn't turn up. He famously does this a lot
Great stuff, great channel
Much appreciated! Welcome to the Buzz Fam ✌️🍻
@@BeersBars Thanks man 🍺🍻, I been thinking about doing a reaction channel sometime. I love making music an all. Subscribed to you though, looking forward to more 🌅 ✨✨
@@DragonOrbMusic channel definitely is a lot of fun and a lot of work but has been very rewarding we wish you luck ✌️🍻

Wiley is the godfather of grime if it wasn’t for him it wouldn’t be like this pioneer
Kano fire in the booth 🔥 legendary!
Garage Skank please. And Class of Deja.
Onside/ offside is a reference to the beautiful game. Football. So another postcode is offside
Yall need to listen to his fire in booth. Won't regret it.
We did ✌️🍻
Big fan of Kano since 2021, from Top Boy to his music, and everyone else. Giggs, Ghetts Wretch, D Double D, Scorcher. Look them up. You Tube, Google
Don’t necessarily have to react to it, but you gotta look up the version of this with Wiley, his verse was crazy but he didn’t show up for the video shoot.
Ah was wondering if you had come across any Grime! Yea you might want to check the lyrics to sing along 😆 at 140bpm the bars fly over fast!
Giggs is normally road rap, really chill delivery, so this was a madness from him.
The gap in the English language is as big as the ocean that separates us. Real genuine reaction vid, the misinterpretation is wild haha
😂 the further back in the UK reactions we did you go, the worse it gets, I promise 😂🍻
@@BeersBars love it. I’ll check it out
It’s a shame this was made during the period when Wiley wouldn’t show up for videos 😂😂😂 his verse is sooooo fire
essential Kano tracks: class of deja, garageskank, can't hold we down, Pan-fried, teardrops, this is England, P's and Q's - thats a good start anyway
You need to react to sixty minutes live mistajam ghetts and friends also Kano has one too ❤
He was saying - they said it’s on sight when we see you but I was offside and seen them and there was no gun shootings.
yep the mosh pit at the kano concert was mental lol
You need to check out devlin, he is a absolute monster when it comes to grime and his fire in the booths are legendary
Kano ft ghetto ( aka Ghetts) ' a huntin we will go ' ...I think there's only an audio version
Teardrops ...uffff
Love seeing Americans reviews these g’s. Funny you mentioned busta rhymes, he has a lot of time for giggs and they’re together quite a bit in America 😅
We've gotten better this was a hard one 😅🍻
You guys should do these with the lyrics, basically all went over your head 🤙
