2년째 거의 매일듣고있는 한사람 추가요..

이걸 컴피티션에서 들었을 다른 경쟁자들은 얼마나 좌절했을까
올해 1등은 쟤구나... OTL..... 이런 기분이었을듯..
완급조절이 기가막힘.. 그라데이션으로 진해졌다 연해졌다...
이때 갓 20살을 넘겼을때인데
어쩜 이리도 연주에 깊이와 여유로움이 느껴지는지
연주때는 50세는 넘은 대가같은데
인사하고 웃을때보면 영락없는 소년이미지
넘 피부도 뽀송뽀송 귀엽다
저런아들있음 밥안먹어도 배부르것다

부산에서 앵콜곡으로 이 곡을 쳐주셔서 너무 감사했습니다. 저와 저의 아들한테 잊지 못 할 추억을 선물해주셨어요. 너무 감사했고, 또 너무 감동했습니다. 부산에 와주신것만으로도 너무 감사드리고, 앞으로 항상 건강하셔서 좋은 곡 많이 연주해 주시기를 바랍니다. 다시 한번 감사드립니다.

마지막에 바이올린 연주하는 아저씨 저 흐뭇한 표정은 진짜 마음 속으로 감동받는거 같다. 저런 연주를 한다는거 자체가 얼마나 힘든줄 알고 게다가 저런 연주를 바로 옆에서 들을 수 있는 기회를 가진 사람은 인생을 살면서 일반인에게는 흔치 않은 기회이니까
가만히 있다가 갑자기 듣고 싶어지는 조성진의 폴로네이즈 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 어쩜 저리 어린 나이에 이런 연주가 가능할까..

그냥 악보를 머릿 속에 흡수 한 정도가 아니라 자기 나름대로 분위기 살리고 부드럽게 연주하면서도 가벼운 이 느낌..
와 이 폴로네이즈 진짜 어려운데,,,,,, 거짓말 좀 보태서 쇼팽보다 잘치는듯;;;
DAMN!!! I think this was the best ever performance of my all-time favorite classical piano piece, ever. This guy's incredibly dynamic interpretation was unlike any I have ever heard, reminiscent of the past greats like Rubinstein and Horowitz, with the feeling and power of both. I don't know that it is about Korean players, but they seem to possess both the passion and technical expertise to play these pieces so magnificently in equal measure. I'm blown away.
eastern cultures tend to value hard work so i'd imagine that'd be why. i could definitely be wrong about that, though.

You are DEFINITELY not wrong about what you just said and you know it, or you wouldn't have even mentioned it. Asian immigrants make the trip here to get a better education and a better life. But the tens of millions of illegals from the south mainly come here for the free "perks," like free health care, free housing, free jobs, and even to be educated in THEIR OWN LANGUAGE, at the taxpayers' expense. Just look what's happening in every state that borders Mexico. Sergio would have had to study the in-depth personality and pain of each composer to suffer as they did and, indeed, their lives were extremely complicated. Mentally as well as physically. His renditions attest to that. Hence he mesmerises us totally. There is only one Sergio. May he have a long and happy life. 👑💕
Pathetique brings tears to my eyes each time. It brings back sad memories and loved ones gone.

Still listening in 2021! Somehow I can no longer concentrate on other pianists' interpretation of this piece since I listened to Seong-Jin Cho's one. What a choice for an encore piece as the winner of the competition too!
As they said when they presented him the best Polonaise award: "Polonaise represents pride in the past, the joy of the present, and hope for the future." What a heroic performance in bringing the competition to a close!

Superb. He played the piece with just the right balance of passion but with finesse, humility, grace, subtlety, and refinement. I'm the first one to excoriate Lang Lang's overly extroverted performances, so this was definitely a breath of fresh air.
Lang lang is a great pianist but his 'heroic' was terrible.
Lang Lang’s artistry and musicianship are primitive in comparison to Cho, to put it mildly. In instrument parlance, one is a cheap chinese upright and the other is a model D Steinway.

이 곡이 피아노에서 가장 치기가 어렵다고 합니다 마지막 절정에 다다를 때 소름이 돋더군요 조성진씨의 신들린듯한 연주 잘 들었습니다
가장 치기 어려운 곡은 아님 ㅋㅋㅋ 이거보다 어려운곡 널리고도 널림.. 물론 조성진은 이곡을 완벽하게 소화하긴했지만
This interpretation brings tears to my eyes. I've never heard of Seong-Jin Cho before. But I'm quite certain this is the best piano music I've listened to in 50 years.
I mean, it's good, but it's certainly not on some other plane compared to other performances.
maulCS post some examples so I can compare. I love Cho but I’m objective. If there’s a better rendition I want to hear it.
Seong-Jin Cho’s playing almost demands close listening, so clearly does his playing present & reveal to the listener Chopin’s dense writing. I try to imagine Chopin composing this work in musical language that compatriots such as Szulc, Kleczynski & Nieck did not at first grasp or fully appreciate. And here now comes Seong-Jin Cho, in the footsteps of mankind’s musical giants, to let today’s generation hear some, if not all, of what the living Chopin was hearing in his creative imagination when he wrote then revised this wonderful fantasy-polonaise.
It speaks to the heart :)

I love how his power and brilliance cause the strings to keep ringing on and on without the use of pedal for this amazing effect in the mid to bass register strings! The entire piano seems launched into a realm of lush, overlapping sound waves. A physicist would have a better explanation for this phenomenon, but I know what i"m hearing is miraculous!
