Chopin piano interpreters: make way for Seong-Jin Cho! I think these preludes (precious gems) are how Chopin would have played them in the Paris salons where he performed. Delicate, fiery, passionate, tender, all of the human emotions that only the piano can give.
My God!!! He is performing just how I feel it and how I want it to hear, and how I would play (😊 but I cant) with the same passion or calmness, or tendeness, airiness, the same pauses length, or sorrow and so on. I think I wont be able to lusten to anybody else!
I need to tell you something of critcal importance! I care about you as a person, and I very much urge you to listen to this to the finish: The scriptures tell us that Jesus Christ died for people's sins- now I say "our", but I speak for all who God mercifully appointed from eternity past to have hearts to receive the knowledge of this truth: that our nature is sinful and that we have transgressed God and owe Him a debt to be repaid; ( being hell; just forget your human logic behind justice ); But with God's remarkable free gift of justification and forgiveness, with Christ's death+punishment and resurrection from the dead, being the "means" you could say, for this to be won: whoever will have their faith ( and, according to my interpretation that this is not just a hearing of the facts, and saying "I believe it" with your mouth, or raising your hand at the end of sermon after the pastor's got you pumped up and asks 'who wants to say the sinner's prayer', but rather a faith that cries out to God "have MERCY on me!" and depends on Him as your only hope for forgiveness and being saved Him, that through Him, they'll be pardoned from the Judgement of their Sins by God, will be pardoned, because of His finished work, in what He came into this life to do, and be reborn, ( a change of heart about your life and reality with your knowledge of the truth that sets you free ) and will be saved! Now, being a believer is not "going to church on sundays" or wearing a cross chain or putting a cross bumper sticker on your car; in fact there's so many people who *think* they're Christiand it's scary. Once God does a work in your heart, marking you as His Own ( with the presence of the Holy Spirit ), this will bring about a life, bearing fruits of repentance! And you will be reborn as a new creature! Walking by the Spirit and not by the flesh (the will of your sinful self, and passions contrary to the things of God) Amen and good day my beloved, i hope all who read this have a heart to hear; eternity is ETERNITY, and this life is NOT eternity; it's like a vapor in the wind My prayers and best wishes to you all who read this, Grace and Peace from the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father be with you!!

He hammer his left fist on the final note of the final movement!!! Oh my god! Even it is not written on the score by Chopin, but the sound it produces which is quite appropriate romantically. What a pianist... Proud of Korea gloming such young great talent.
The rendering of Op. 28 no. 24 is one of the high-points of human existence. The last 2 Death Knells, and the break of the right-hand arpeggio with pedaling for the left-hand is haunting. Seong-Jin Cho is the Chopin interpreter of our generation.
A masterful performance! Seong-Jin's elegant hands just naturally command the keyboard in any Chopin piece. Cho's presentation of these preludes is without equal.
It is the unspeakbaly great genius of Chopin we admire, rather than the pianist who plays so well and permits is to do this. This is the third or fourth time Im listening to this recital and I will do so again. He may have some personal touches in his tempo and rubato and dynamics but they are born out of his understanding of the music. We don't just reproduce the notes on the page but have to receate them in our own minds. This is what makes Seong-Jin so outstanding. Incredibly there are 207 dislikes. There is no knowing what goes on in some people's minds. I have looked through quite a lot of the comments and no-one explains what they object to.
i like this a lot, but I can see how some can feel he's too soft and delicate for many of the pieces. For example, no13 and 15. But not everyone plays like Pollini and thats a good thing too.
The recording engineers play a big role in how it sounds. The pianist’s touch sounds a little aggressive, but could it be that the microphone is too close to the exposed ‘movement’ (internal mechanism) of the piano? If it is under the piano cover, presumably it must be correctly placed for an even sound across the piano’s register. I think this is a very good performance by very gifted pianist. Compare with Yuja’s performance, but allow for the very different recording conditions that were set up.
@@Davidfooterman - Yes, I often suspect recording techniques of being wrong. For example when in a Piano Trio the attention is focussed too much on the piano and the strings sound thin. But there is nothing wrong with Seong-Jin's interpretation or the recording.
@@felixdevilliers1 we should talk about the composer actually because without him none of this would happen, of course the artist brings it to life but we must put the composer first

Masz rację, dziękuję :)
Fantastic performance!

He hammer his left fist on the final note of the final movement!!! Oh my god! Even it is not written on the score by Chopin, but the sound it produces which is quite appropriate romantically. What a pianist... Proud of Korea gloming such young great talent.
Aaaagree
He joined Dang Thai Song and Eric Lv...
@@SL-lk9bw more like he stole it from dang thai song
Loads do that ? It's histrionics
@@samaritan29 Why "stole"
The rendering of Op. 28 no. 24 is one of the high-points of human existence. The last 2 Death Knells, and the break of the right-hand arpeggio with pedaling for the left-hand is haunting. Seong-Jin Cho is the Chopin interpreter of our generation.
Juspreet Sandhu I
Juspreet Sandhu yep, dang thai son and eric lu also did the fists with the two low ds. Just haunting! Goosebumps!
Eric Lu is also masterful with Chopin

Une interprétation à la hauteur du pianiste... Je reste bouche bée.
Chopin's 15th prelude is just so inspiring.
The first prelude is just so lovely
No.4’s sound is so beautiful
I was really impressed by it.
A young maestro - beautiful and magical!
A masterful performance! Seong-Jin's elegant hands just naturally command the keyboard in any Chopin piece. Cho's presentation of these preludes is without equal.
HIS CONTROL AND APPROPRIATE APPLICATION OF PRESSURE IS MASTERFUL IN THESE PRELUDES IN PARTICULAR.
Thank you very much.
Absolutely stunningly elegant!
BRAVO 👏👏👏👏👏👏Kazakhstan 🇰🇿

Our life is like these preludes, sometimes up and sometimes down. Seong-jin portrayed it really well.
You are born as a Chopin player
Fantastic! Seong Jin Cho!
Actually far more than Chopin player!!
Actually far more than a Chopin player!! If you have heard most of his performances...
Beautiful playing.
31:27 One of the most difficult piano works ever written, but only those who study it really know !!
Yet he played it so clear and smooth, full of emotions.
I personally thought that it wasn't too bad. No 8 actually gave me the most trouble of the set.
Definitely the best and better rounded performance of the Op.28. Thank you for this.
Thanks Cho&Chopin.
His skill in ' rubato ' is well executed.... especially in no.2.....excellent TOUCH.
@@johnbarry5036 - Too slow and delicate, my foot. It's simply a wonderful interpretation..
@@felixdevilliers1 we should talk about the composer actually because without him none of this would happen, of course the artist brings it to life but we must put the composer first
Very few are given the gift. Cho is one of them.

Very sensitive chopinian interpretation... Bravoooo !
He presents the set of preludes with and overall very high and convincing quality, with some exceptional highlights. I grew up with Pollinis interpretation which is still my landmark, but Cho certainly belongs to that small group of superpianists who will be in the focus of our attention and admiration for decades to come.
Ahhh, Pollini! He is always my "go-to" so I was surprised how much I admired Cho's playing here as they are very different. Even with all the details though, the big picture of the piece doesn't disappear. Definitely worth hearing.
