Might need expanded metal or metal screen on outside to deter climbing up and over.
If someone wanted to get in that bad then they would find another way
Great project - other considerations welding pickets flush with outside face (creekside) instead of centerline and adding more pickets for 2 in o.c. for no toe hold from creekside.
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe corrugated roofing so they can’t look up there either!
That’s no fun , then how would you get to shoot the intruders
I’m a hobby welder in Northern Ireland, I’ve been watching your content for a few years, thanks for sharing your skill, great inspiration, i recently made a gate inspired by your designs and it turned out great 👍
Amazing craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing your videos 🙏
Nicely done Jim. Looks perfect!
Definitely different, makes it easier to climb
great work jimbo!
Nice gate, nice video. Thank you.
Nice, clean project. Good thing you measured every aspect before getting started. Never assuming that things are level and true is a good rule. Thanks for sharing!
Nice Work!
Looks nice and neat, design
Jimbo very nice gate today. Very nice and very clean design. Can't wait to see more videos soon Jimbo. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God bless.
Concerned about the security aspect of the gate. I have found that anything close to horizontal can be climbed. Those that want to get in will be able to climb and get in. Limits the artistic aspect of the gate, but it can be done.
Should have put the pickets flush with the outside face to get rid of the edge - makes it much, much harder to climb
I had a similar situation on the inside of a tight angle, a buddy told me to take a hammer and flatten an old nozzle down. I thought he was crazy but it worked like a charm! I was able to sneak in there closer so the stick out wasn't too bad. I've had to use it a few times since.
Good 👍👍👍
Very nice design! 👍😎
You created a built in ladder for the thieves.
Nice job
Looks proper cool I like that great work 👍👍
That horizontal bar is unfortunately a nice place to step when jumping that fence. Otherwise great build!
I like yours videos, good job, keep goin, best regards from Venezuela
looks nice but the top is now steps for them to get over the gate
Sure lets make a gate pattern that the home invaders can climb up and over like a ladder to keep them out... perfect logic.
exactly my thoughts, you beat me to it....
I love security gates you can just climb over
It's around 2.745 Meters
maybe if you stood the gate up to get those inside joints, gravity would have been on your side?
👍👍
Sorry to see you struggling such with pain, have you tried supplementing with "Collagen" terribly good stuff for the body Bones Tendons Skin aches & Pains. To a speedy Recovery back to health🤞🏻
what about the machine with the black face ? what machine is that ? can you do a full review on that ?
Great vid! What did you charge your client for this job jimbo?
What size are the shims you use to install the hinges? do you always use the same ones or do they vary according to the size of the hinges you install?
What did you use to anchor it to the wall? Tapcons?
What's the next best thing besides powder coating?
Hi Jimbo, What gauge for the metal pipes do you use? Thank you
✌️👍
Hi Jimbo, nice door. Can you say me how did you doing to have no deformation when you welding all the bar, one after one. Did use a flamme torch after, to have a door line and straight ? Sorry for my english and hi from Belgium
what do you use for a camera to film your self while walking around job sites?
looks really good. Question for you. Do you not find that the frame pulls out of 90 at all only having the clamps down. I also have a fixture table and I just had to weld up 14 - 6' x3' railings and even with all my fixtures and clamping the hell out of it it still wants to shrink up a bit. I am still around 1/32 out of square which is fine but It just always seems to shrink up on me. Not sure what I can do different. I start by taking the outside edge all around, then taking the top, then welding outside edge, top side, flipping the railing and welding the top side and then finally welding the inside corner joint. Not sure what else I can do. Any tips would be helpful. Thank you. Paul
مرحباً كيف حالك أنا اعمل في هذا المجال لديك عمل رائع سوف اكون دائما في جانبك
With the square tubes on a angle. Kinda looks like a ladder could be easily climbed .
i'll dig up the dirt under that gate and slip in
Hello Jimbo, sorry. Don`t you need any help? i can load, and weld. Thank you
I can never figure out the math correctly for the pickets
I use my tape measure diagonally to lay mine out.
@darren6790, that's actually quite easy, especially for us that use Millimetres. Take the total distance to be covered, minus the total amount and thickness of the pickets, then divide by the number of spaces you have. Eg
If the total distance is 1000mm, and there are 8 X 25mm pickets, take 1000 - (8x25) = 800. Then divide by 9 spaces (because there are 8 pickets), and your spacings should be 88.9mm 😊
To the commenters that this gate is easy to climb dont worry as I'm sure your gate is easier to climb then this one if its even locked. 😅😅😅 Good build mate, not perfect for all of todays little sh#ts but better than nothing👌
Hello, you must be more pragmatic, but, graet job
It is California, Razor wire is justified.
No one is going to climb that gate. Theives move on to the easier target.
