    Great skill and experience shown in thus fellow, good job. Working men like this produce great things with their hands. USA needs more skilled working men.
    Pass skills on to the younger generations. There are plenty of young men needing guidance and skills.
    Thanks for this video. Lessons learned right here on the cell phone.

    I'd recommend a test fit before welding. Also maybe a mention of welder settings and repeated weld sequence, since if not properly set/repeated, it'll pull the hinge out of alignment. Nice work with the jig👊

    I'll save you guys some time:
    He talks vaguely about the hinges for about 90 seconds, the rest is an infomercial.

    I'm guessing to make a gate swing in and out they just need spacing ?

    • @ArtfullyRogue

      The bullet hinges are great for that use as there is no built in stop on the hinge

    Would love to see this installtion in an already pre-exsting frame thats already up..

      I was hoping to get a video together of the install however the client pulled the plug on the project due to HOA issues.

    If you can just “drop” the gate onto the hinges, then can’t someone just pick the gate up off of them too? How are these secure?

    • @ArtfullyRogue
      @ArtfullyRogue  Рік тому

      You do have a point. I failed to mention that once the gate is installed, if security is an issue, weld an additional tab above on the hinges to prevent the gate being removed easily. In my case, our gate weighed about 300lbs and the homeowner wanted the option to remove the gate for future projects he had in mind.

    Thanks for the video -- SO HELPFUL, as always!
    Hey, I have that Yeswelder helmet (love it) and wondering if you have any clues on how to tighten it more than it allows out-of-the-box, so that it will stay up better when raised. No doubt you know exactly what I mean. I don't want to break it.

      I wrapped a thin layer of foam around the head band to make it a bit thicker and that seemed to help me

    Nice jig for holding the hinge!
    But I would weld the hollow part on the door so that no water can make its way in...

    • @ArtfullyRogue
      @ArtfullyRogue  3 роки тому

      Good point. I got into such a hurry to get these gate doors shipped out I completely overlooked that aspect

    • @edstimator1
      @edstimator1 Рік тому

      the hinges that I bought have a ball bearing that drops into the hollow section and the pin rides on that ball bearng. It may be possible to try to slide three ball bearings into that hollow upside down cup while hanging a two hundred pound door but I will leave that to others to try.

    • @ocAToccd

      @@edstimator1 that might need some (elbow) grease 😉

    Those are a good product, but not for a place like Michigan where you have cold and hot weather. There is no adjustment if poles heve our move

    Hey Doug, I always thought the 'pegs' went on the post and the 'holes' went on the door?

    • @ArtfullyRogue
      @ArtfullyRogue  3 роки тому +1

      Hmm good question. When I asked the manufactured they didn't say it mattered which one went where on the post or door.

    • @Everythings_Adjustable
      @Everythings_Adjustable 3 роки тому

      @@ArtfullyRogue I think Farm gates and internal house doors (where they have this kind of hinge) here in the UK have the pins (facing up) on the post/wall, anyway I just thought I would ask what you thought 🛠️👍😊

    • @ArtfullyRogue
      @ArtfullyRogue  3 роки тому +1

      @@Everythings_Adjustable I saw another comment from someone and they had a good point. Keeping the pins up keeps the hole side from getting water in it when it rains. That point totally slipped my mind when I put them on.
