I'm a web developer for 8 years na and I had to resign a few months ago kasi na burnout sa WFH setup, lakas maka stress pag sa bahay nagtratrabaho for 1+ years and counting. I want to go back sa office setup kaso bihira ganun dito sa Manila ngayon, mostly puro WFH pag software related. Kung meron man office setup, ang lalayo. Thank you for this vid! ♥

Never in my life na nagpapabacker ako sa career. I hate people doing it just because someone is helping you to get your career for you. I hate that kind of people's mindset about it kasi hindi nakakatulong yan sa personal growth, instead you are being controlled by someone. So please, if you want to pursue any career, just do it on your own will and never ask help to someone.
this kind of job is skill base kahit may backer kapa kung wala kang skills dika matatanggap.

Thats the most crucial stage kasi you already graduated and you have a very strong urge of taking vacation and break from a very long and tiring years of college tapos as IT/CS pa na course na sobrang hirap maka grad dahil sa thesis at sa pag aaral ng programming at networking skills. Damn! Dont get carried away from that feelings, instead go back in track and study harder than how you did from your collage days because the competition now is so tight than before na bibira ang magagaling sa programming. The rise of new language and advancements of old languages are emerging so fast plus the resources for learning is already abundant from the web and various platforms like YT. So yeah. Mag aral ng mabuti. Mag practice ka lalo na sa pag construct ng SQL Statements and Queries. Madali lang ang server side at client side programming languages pero SQL damn! Mapipiga utak mo jan lalo na sa report generations.

Hard but possible. Mental health at physical health mo will take a toll on you

kuya is it possible po na i can be a software engineer even if i am 1st year undergraduate sa bsit po by taking bootcamp and courses? gusto ko po kasi mag focus mismo sa programing, nawawala po kasi ako sa focus recently sa mga minor subject, parang nanghihina po ako pag minsan naiisip ko na need ko din galingan sa minor even it cannot help me on the long run of my future career.
Pwede ka maging software engineer in taking bootcamp pero di ko masasabi na 1 year lang... I think 2-3 years pwede na yata but 1 year isn't enough to prove and I think it would be better to complete the 4 year course kasi kung gusto mo mapromote sa field na to, isa yun sa mga requirements on top of your skillsets :)

Hello, for equipment, a decent laptop is enough, for books, not quite sure but that depends on the language you work on, as of me I since I'm a C# developer, I read C# in depth by Jon Skeet (top rated stackoverflow user) it's a great book for beginner if you want to go with C# language. Tips? Keep learning cuz technology keeps evolving and you need to keep up with latest technology trends.

one simple solution is to get a USB-C to dual HDMI dongle (assuming your machine has USB-C). if not mistaken you can have a max of 2 aux monitor if using Apple, and 3 aux monitor for Windows PC.

You mean po vocational course, yes po pwedeng2x, as I mentioned po na may kakilala ako na TESDA graduate (1 year course) na currently working in Canada as a software engineer, pero po 1 thing for sure ka mahihirapan is ang promotion, so I suggest na kung nakakaipon kana, you should go get a degree :)

In my personal opinion, it doesn't matter kung anong college degree basta computer related ok na yun. May kakilala ako nurse graduate before and he is a software engineer and also one of my friend who is currently canada who is working a software engineer to with a tesda certificate only. The only disadvantage that I heard from them is kung di computer college degree graduate ka, mahihirapan ka sa promotion as it is one of the requirements. A short answer is yes pwede ka maging software engineer kahit anong course, the advantage of having a computer college degree is promotion (in my personal opinion).

@MrDuck, usually weekend (sa ngayon madalas nalang) around 2-4 hours lang kasi stress sa work saka sarap magrest ng fullday :D

Ilang taon po kayo nung naging senior programmer po kayo?
Over 7 years na po throughout sa career ko naging senior ako nung naging 4.5 years na experience ko. At base sa experience ko seniority is based on skill level not just experience, you can be senior developer in just 4 years up as long as you have proven extensive experience.

As of now, IT industry job market is getting more and more demanding at dumadami din ang market (base in your area) as time passes, i think di na masyado mahirap pumasok sa IT jobs, the problem lang is kung may mga magandang training yung company na papasukan mo. Always keep yourself learning and never stop doing it kasi it is our job to adopt latest technologies from time to time.

Mostly ginagawa ng network engineer is mostly network and server management, not much knowledgeable sa mga responsibilities but mas mahirap at mas challenging ang work nila kasi physical debugging yung ginagawa nila tapos dapat mas accurate sila sa ginagawa nila kasi dapat less casualties. Unlike SE jobs na mas pwede magdebug anytime as long as it has a development environment.

Computer Sci = Software, Comp eng = Hardware, IT = Both I think.
I can say that it doesn't really matter kung ano ang natapos mo sa computer degree, Yes every degree kasi may iba-ibang focus pero lahat naman yan di naman naaapply in real world. As for the question, here is my personal opinion regarding dyan:
CompSci - focus on logical and programming concept
CompEng - focus on hardware and programming
IT - focus on networking and maintenance (kunting programming rin)

I think po hindi masyado mahirap compare to other work related jobs like mga PRC license required na jobs, sa daming market ngayon sa IT industry I think it is not that hard na makahanap ng trabaho, ang mahirap lang yung papasukan mo na trabaho kung may maganda silang training for beginners. My advise po is keep pursuing comsci kasi booming ang market ngayon and there are a lot still lots of upcoming opportunities soon and the more market, mas madali makakakuha ng trabaho. Also 1 thing, Never stop learning.

On my personal opinion yes, at saka sa k-12 na educational system sa pinas I think highschool grads can be a software engineer as long as they equipped skills and knowledge sa k-12 IT related course na kukunin ng students, I have a friend of mine who is a TESDA grad who is currently working Canada as software engineer though 1 thing for yung disadvantage kung di ka naggraduate ng college degree is mahihirapan ka sa promotion (as they say but haven't proven it yet). To quickly answer, yes pwede po, pero mahihirapan ka sa promotion.

Yung nursing friend ko nagtake siya ng 3 months boothcamp (di ako sure kung 3 or 6 months) after graduating from booth camp nag.apply agad siya sa canada then after 2 months nakakuha siya ng trabaho agad with visa sponsorship and relocation package covered by the company. Maswerte tlga siya hahaha

Depende sa company at project, I have tried 2 months straight na walang break kahit na holiday nagwowork kami kasi may dapat tapusin. pero mostly sa company may compensation/reward pag natapos yung project and it's all worth it. :)
