Unusual voice, but "shock" is, probably, the right word for it. Stressing me somehow:-) very uncomfortable. Never mind, just visited you after Nightwish with Phantom of the opera. Got dubious expression: strong singing, but (call me traditionist) their look is a total disrespect to opera. Like to see Devil singing religious songs. What do you think of it, if anything?
About the song "Rechenka": This is an old ritual song about an orphan bride. The girl has no parents. The river was considered the boundary between the world of the living and the dead. She goes to the river and asks for the blessing of marriage. She says that there are many people at home, but there is no father and mother. You hear Diana singing in a whisper. These are the words of the deceased mother of the bride. Then the girl is crying. In Russia, at weddings they sang sad songs to scare away evil and the marriage of a young couple was to be happy. Such songs were called “weeping.” The figures behind Diana are spirits of water and forest.
My understanding is that the girl's parents had died after she had promised to them that she would not marry without their blessing, and that because of this the song is pure tragedy.
It is the girl's happiest day and all is prepared. But because of the promise, her conscience prevents her from going through with it.
At the literal level she goes to the river and drowns herself.
At the metaphorical level, this is signified by the fact that at the end she gets into the boat to be pushed along, across the river to the other side, the land of the dead.

А вот по легендам и преданиям, девушки часто топились, когда их выдавали замуж за нелюбимых. Отсюда пошли поверья про Водяных, Леших, Кикимор, якобы они путали людей и губили.
Не колыбнется - это нет ответа от родителей. А шепот это уже скорее лесные чудища наметили свою жертву. А в целом, всё правильно.

Diana abandoned at a bus stop with a broken shoulder. found and taken to a orphanage. there she did not speak. As there were no speech therapist she was taken to a singing teacher and found to have perfect pitch and learned how to speak by singing. From 6 years old she was winning talent shows. She won this one twice. If you are interested in this fantastic talent there is plenty more she had to overcome.
Excellent 👍 Diana Ankudinova has said that she gets consumed by most of her performances. Human is another one that shows this happen. Her performance skills are off the charts.

Well this performance was epic I like russian culture and their storys and songs, they are able to combine sadness, happiness, mysticism and so called reality in a unique way - and Dianas voice is the perfect "media" to transport all this in a very emotional way.
Sir hairless, thanks for your reaction to one of my favorite songs from Diana. Her singing is so refreshingly different. She recently sang a song with another artist at New Years celebration in Russia that show cases her higher range that might surprise you. The song is called “DAY YOU…..”
Brandon Stone was the male singer (who wrote the song I believe) for diana, and they performed it as a duet in that video.

Hi, thanks for your great reaction. Diana first appeared on the Russian version of the voice at the age of 13. She sang Yodel Time and none of the judges turned for her. The audience was outraged and there was a scandal and claims that the judges were instructed beforehand as to who to turn to.
My favorite Diana performance is Oh It is Not Yet Evening.

for me I really enjoy her interpretation of Edith Piaf's Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien. She has performed this one numerous
times throughout her life and it has always been my favorite.

'Rika' means river. 'Rechenka' is an affectionate reference to the river. It translates to 'dear river' In the context, it is: "my dear river".
There are many great performances. It might be better to simply choose at random. I would like to see you review "Jodel Time" from The Voice, Kids at age thirteen and "Blizzard" from You're Super at age fifteen and "It's a Man's World" from You're Super at age fourteen.

"Rechenka" in Russian is a caressing diminutive for "reka"="river".
So "rechenka" literally means "my little lovely river".
Rechenka is not little river, it is just tender appeal to the river.
One video of Diana's, in my sight, is a total masterpiece the like of which I don't remember ever seeing before in my long life. It's a must see for anyone that loves singing with unending emotion. The background of the song is essential to know. The title of the song is "Ornery (or "Fastidious" or "Finicky") Horses". The song has nothing to do with horses in reality - the horses are being used as a metaphor for life. The author of song is begging the horses to slow down (he is aware he is approaching death), but, at the same time he is whipping them along (his chaotic lifestyle) - he knows that his lifestyle is taking him to an early death, however, he is unable to change it.....the composer of the song, Vladimir Vysotsky, was a singer-songwriter, poet, and actor as well as an alcoholic & drug addict and died in 1980 at the age of 42. ua-cam.com/video/lu8iW9BcWmY/v-deo.html . Her stage presence, at just14, is unbelievable. She's majestic even when she's merely taking a few silent strides (right after the raspy dead mother talking). That incredible slide and that fantastic ululating yodeling. One of the most uniquely creative performances I've ever seen.

Greetings again from the UK! I’m so pleased you have reacted to Diana again as I always watch your Dimash reactions (and now hopefully Forestella as well 🤞🏻). Regarding this song Rechenka though, I first heard this sung back in the late 90’s by a Russian singer called Alla Pugacheva if you ever want to look her up to compare the two (however, i definitely prefer Diana’s version of it any day!). Also, regarding Diana yodelling, you may want to react to her singing Yodel Time which is absolutely superb and which she performed when she was just 13 I believe. I love listening to Diana and this is my favorite song by her. It’s primal, it takes me back to a time thousands of years ago. Her authentic acting ability also enhances her vocals in this song. To me she’s as charismatic as Freddie Mercury. In fact Diana’s cover of Rechenka is on the same level as my favorite performance, “Somebody to Love”, by Queen in Montreal in 1981.

This is such incredible, and utterly compelling music theatre.
I think it is _extremely_ difficult for adults to match the unselfconscious intensity and total immersion in art and fantasy that children find so natural.
Of course, despite this psychological advantage the vast majority of children lack the technical skills to compete with adults.
But when, as in the case of Diana and other prodigies, a child is able to call on technical skills that most adults can only dream of, the psychological advantage they enjoy as children comes to the fore with mesmerising effect.

Rechenka: le ruisseau in French= Stream in english. I can only attest to the music that starts as a tiny stream that goes on to become a bigger and bigger stream against challenges, fear, black rocks and ups and downs and then goes faster and faster and then becomes this powerful river that is now still and content. I'd like to suggest a song by Diana that is far afield from anything you've heard so far. She did a cover of "Havana" in her bedroom that clearly demonstrates that she's a very normal, charming and playful teenager -- not just an astounding diva. It's heartwarming to see that she's not missing out completely on being a happy child as well as being an incredible talent.

Видела это уже 100 раз и опять пересматривая с вами переживаю все снова с тем же накала и слезами восторга на глазах. Как, как эта четырнадцатилетняя девочка может так петь? Какая то всепланетарная мудрость в её голосе и манере исполнения. Hi, since you mentioned her yodeling, please react/analyze her Jodel Time performance for a similar The Voice program. It is heartbreaking because even though she mesmerized the blind judges, fear to unknown techniques held them back from voting for her. Please have subtitles so you can listen to their discussion while she is performing. IF you have extra time, keep listening to the judges ongoing argument and regrets, they even asked for another song just to enjoy her, which she did acapella, she was a little sad backstage and between tears thank them for the opportunity…. I bet they are now regretting it….
