I use a Glucose Monitor and have checked this hundreds of time. First thing when I wake up I check my blood sugar and it will be low (but normal) because I haven't eaten since the day before (i.e fasting over night). Now, if I get active before breakfast my blood sugar level will get a bump (i.e. rise by 0.3 to 0.6 MMols/ L or 6 to 12) because my liver will release glucose, as it should, to fuel the workload. But If I just relax, I don't get the bump and stays at wake up levels - until I eat, of course. I am a Type 2 diabetic, but in remission since I can control my BGL with diet alone. That said: I am still insulin resistant (as per the HOMA-IR test) and so can never go back to eating "everything and anything" I want - just need to manage my diet (in a nutshell No GPS - No grains, potatoes or Sugar) plus eat slowly. Once in this groove its not hard at all. Finally, the Glucose Monitor has been a ''God send'' in educating me on what and what not to eat with regards to BGL.

Hello Dr, I started intermittent fasting 2 weeks ago after finding my A1C went up from 5.7 to 6.1 in 3 months. I lost 10 pounds already, I also workout (Lift weight) My question is do you recommend the intermittent fasting to reverse diabetes. as of now my blood sugar is reading 116 without having breakfast.
Consider yourself diabetic. #1 watch DrFung videos on UA-cam #2 exercise is important but what you eat is even more, #3 when you eat your fiber, protein, fats in that order. #4 Limit breads, rice, starches & don't drink your carbs #5 do intermittent fasting
Fiber will help you from getting sugar spikes, the more sugar spikes the more insulin there is in your system, you want to limit that. The more insulin the more resistant you are to it.

Supposing person you're taking care of, is taking high blood pressure pills they do that first thing in the morning if they've had the blood pressure long before the diagnosis, diabetes, doesn't drink coffee, always has exercise. Can they take berberine is there fiber vitamins or anything Do you have a cookbook or a recipe to follow?
@Blessed-jz7fh, Berberine can indeed be taken with high blood pressure medication, but always consult with your healthcare provider first. For diet tips, check out my other videos or visit sugarmds.com for free e-books on diabetes diet.
New subscriber here. So how do I handle when they request a blood test in the morning for a physical they want me to fast 12 hours . I am not diabetic my A1c 5.5 but my glucose has been between 100 and 115 when I fast. Previously, I was below 100 like the 90s. I usually go for my appointment at 9/10 AM. Thank you.
@-.-4, that's understandable! Adjusting sleeping habits can be a challenge, but they're crucial for blood sugar management. Keep a regular sleep schedule even if you're a night owl. The important thing is to get adequate sleep.
